appendicitis

1661545 tn?1302685376 Agreed with foreverpoppy....she needs to go to the ER. They can figure out for the most part if it is, in fact, appendicitis while pregnant, but I'm sure you know that surgery is the only surefire way to guarantee that's what it is...however, they can rule out things like gallbladder or kidney problems. With all of the complications she has, you don't want to wait.
5670884 tn?1374749288 My sister had appendicitis when she was pregnant. If the pain doesn't go away after a while, look up the symptoms of appendicitis and see if that sounds possible, and if so go to the doc.
Avatar f tn Monitor your syptoms cause nausea, back pain, pain on right side and bloating r also symptoms of appendicitis. I had appendicitis while i was pregnant so didn't notice the symptoms of appendicitis cause i just thought it was pregnacy symptoms.if pain gets worse or you get fever go to doctor.
Avatar f tn My obe also insisted they do surgery, saying in pregnant patients if in doubt they should operate. Finally they did surgery and it was appendicitis! My obe apologised to me that I had to suffer so long. Fortunately my baby was ok. Now, your case may not be appendicitis, but the pain needs to be properly considered and closely monitored. Are you having fever? If so this is an alarm signal! Do follow up with your doctor and be persistent.
Avatar f tn pain in the right of my belly, which migrated in the LRQ after about 2 weeks, bloating, pain in the right side during bowel movements, right leg gets a little numb sometimes. Did a CT scan 1 month ago, it revealed an ovarian cyst of 3.5 cm on my right and a 5 cm one on my left. The pain on my right is persistent and the symptoms are really bad for such a small cyst. My gynecologist didn't give me many explanations, so I've searched for my simptoms online.
Avatar n tn chronic involvement of appendix (many a times ultrasound misses this as the appendix in such cases is hidden behind loops of intestine and typical symptoms of appendicitis are absent), involvement of kidney and inflammation of your intestine. Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture.
671285 tn?1292660161 Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women, ectopic pregnancy in women, mesentry (a thin tissue that carries the blood, nerves and lymphatics for the intestine) involvement, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. If you cannot consult your doctor until next week, maybe you can go to ER. The symptoms could be due to IBS but appendicitis needs to be ruled out.
1003498 tn?1263919526 I walked around with your symptoms for about ten days as well....Then I got what I would describe as deathly sick. Diagnosis...
1559675 tn?1303670064 It could be a cyst, could be appendicitis, could be a fibroid (which often gives women pregnancy symptoms), you could have a hormonal imbalance, etc. Dealing with a cyst- usually they resolve on their own. Some burst.
Avatar m tn Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course? What has prompted my question is that I had two episodes yesterday, one in the morning and a very severe bout in the evening. I keep thinking this will just go away especially when I'm pain free and I forget about it.
Avatar n tn s, it might be worth checking out. Normally, the muscles in the wall of the stomach contract in a coordinated way to move food through the stomach into the small intestine. The autonomic nervous system controls this muscular action. Diabetes can damage the autonomic nerves. This is called diabetic autonomic neuropathy. As a result, the stomach loses it's coordinated muscular activity and doesn't empty the stomach properly.
Avatar f tn Im 10 weeks pregnant and got my appendix removed yesterday (saturday) they told me about the risks with the anastesia and baby, but they also told me that if i left it in and it ruptured id lose baby for sure. Anyone else have their appendix removed and had a perfectly healthy baby?
Avatar m tn Im 17 years old about to be 18 in 3 months and I got off my period 6 days ago. I took plan B on the last day of my period which was december 25th and starting on the 29th i had soreness in what seems like right above the ovaries, a pain on each side of my abdomen. I also have this pulsating around my belly button and it will shoot down to the right side then give me back pain. I also have headaches and have gotten easily hot and overheated during the night.
Avatar n tn Benign dermoid ovarian cysts uncommonly cause symptoms in young girls. It is estimated that they constitute 0.35% of all tumors occurring in children of both sexes less than 15 years of age. Symptoms produced by the cysts may mimic other intra-abdominal disease, and in three of the four cases reported in this series the girls were initially considered to have either acute appendicitis or infection of the urinary tract. All three had a pelvic mass palpable per rectum.
Avatar f tn More of a heads up than a question. Apparently appendicitis is common in pregnant women. I was unaware. If you get really nauseous, fever and pains in your side don't hesitate. Go to the doctor. I thought I was getting a stomach bug till the pains in my side started. Pain was just above my right hip. Woke up my husband to take me to the ER about 1 in the morning. Thank god I did because it could have ruptured. If they catch it early enough it's a simple surgery.
Avatar m tn t necessarily rule out appendix issues either - The symptoms of appendicitis can vary. It can be hard to diagnose appendicitis in young children, the elderly, and women of childbearing age. The first symptom is often pain around your belly button. (See: Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever.
Avatar m tn I never took the antibiotics. The next day the local GP said no appendicitis. After 15 days still the symptoms continued occasionally and a went to a Gastroenterologist who advised to take Taxim-O an antibiotic. I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness.
Avatar n tn I was hospitalized on Friday night with sever pain to my right side the doctors have stated its either the start of appendicitis or a torn ligament. Awaiting test results. I'm on complete bed rest until I get the results if it is appendicitis what will they do and is there any chance it could hurt my baby. Also got the results of my last blood test which indicated my liver function was down.
Avatar m tn You were right in suspecting appendicitis and kidney stones. Kidney stones can persist for years and cause symptoms only when they start moving. They can move, cause pain and again remain in a position for long periods of time. Similarly chronic appendicitis too can behave this way with bouts of pain, localization of infection and inflammation and a symptom free period.
9497408 tn?1404140019 On the surface, your symptoms sound like appendicitis. Your elevated temp, the referred pain, all points to that. Sometimes ultrasounds do not reveal the true issue - they are not detailed enough. Personally, I experienced appendicitis much like you are experiencing. The "twist" was I had a cyst in my intestine as well. It took surgery to locate the problem(s). No test - and I had them all - revealed the truth. Go to the hospital. They are probably thinking you are drug-seeking.
Avatar n tn I weight 96 pounds so I seriously look 4 months pregnant! It looks like my uterus is sticking out! Then 2 days ago, I had some bleeding (clear pink) in the morning.... that's about 7 days before Im due for my period. Since then, it feels like the left side of my tummy is pulling under my abs, almost like a cramp but not really? I was constipated for about 3 days during the second week of this but I've been going regularly this week and the week before.
Avatar n tn You have mentioned that you were diagnosed with appendicitis. Was an appendectomy done? In this case I would suggest that an abdominal ultrasound may be done to ascertain the cause of the pain. A baseline urinalyis and urine culture may also be helpful to determine if infections or urinary tract stones may be present. I do not think the fungal infection has been causing the pain. Unless the area is swollen and severely infected the tenderness may be noted when the skin is palpated.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your input I really appreciate it. I woke up this morning in pain in that area and sort of in my genital area as well. When i push down on the area on my abdomen my genital area gets pain. Going to the clinic and the ER are my two options as of now. My sex partner has cut off sex until i get better so im hoping that i just need a break from sex and my problem will end.
361454 tn?1312054856 I also have NO pregnancy symptoms like I did before in my past 2 pregnancies... Is this more than likely the beginning of a miscarriage??? I have an apt. Tuesday to see the heartbeat but am afraid that things aren't looking good!!!
