Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis pain long time

appendicitis

Avatar m tn I know you will say I need checked out and I agree in my brain, but the other part of my brain wants to know if these long pain free periods over the course of 3 or so months without a perforation are typical of appendicitis issues? So, in summary, I am curious about the long course of this and the pain free periods. Thank you.
18799278 tn?1484274288 I'm not a medical expert but it sounds similar to stories I've heard about appendicitis. Appendicitis can be very serious, especially if the appendix ruptures. It might be worth going and getting checked out by a doctor just in case.
Avatar f tn My sister told me if i had appendicitis, my pain would be getting worse cuz my aPpendix pain has been going for like 2 months now but only once the pain was severe and that was in the morning.
Avatar f tn m surprised your doctor just gave you drugs for an appendicitis-- true appendicitis almost always needs surgery. Have you had your appendix looked at since then? Ask for an ultrasound or a colonoscopy. In some really rare cases, an infected appendix can lead to infection elsewhere in your abdomen/pelvis, including muscles outside your digestive tract (which might explain the pain when running).
Avatar m tn Kidney stones can persist for years and cause symptoms only when they start moving. They can move, cause pain and again remain in a position for long periods of time. Similarly chronic appendicitis too can behave this way with bouts of pain, localization of infection and inflammation and a symptom free period. Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain.
Avatar n tn Hello. I have a stinging pain in lower right side of abdominal(similar place where the appendix is) and the pain is appeared irregulary(especially when lying on my back). I don't feel this pain in normal or during working somthing else but can feel it if I concentrate on the right-bottom side of the abdominal. And when I lie on my back stretching two legs, stronger stinging pain is appeared easier, so it makes me can't sleep stretching two legs.
Avatar m tn The local GP thought Sub acute appendicitis and prescribed antibiotics. My WBC at that time was normal. The pain was intermittent, some times sharp and mild. I never took the antibiotics. The next day the local GP said no appendicitis. After 15 days still the symptoms continued occasionally and a went to a Gastroenterologist who advised to take Taxim-O an antibiotic. I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis.
Avatar f tn When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right. Recently I had diarrhea for three days straight and then feeling constipated. I would sit in the bathroom for an hour or two straining to push the stool out but nothing comes out. Before that, my bowel movement was fine. I tried drinking prune juice and using one of those laxatives that you insert into the rectum to make it easier to go.

Avatar f tn Don't want to scare you but my sister had appendicitis, the pain started off as random sperts but suddenly got worse as the appendix started to split, she was rushed into hospital and they performed an emergancy opp. Some cases heal themselves, others don't like my sister's. I would ask another doctor; if they send you home again, just watch for ANY changes and monitor your temperature, urine colour and strength of pain over the next 2-3 days.
Avatar f tn Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.
Avatar n tn I think I would take him to the ER if you are not able to see his physician. Someone should see him today.
Avatar n tn Also the pains in my abdomen seem to get worse when i eat or after a night out drinking. Then the pain gets very sharp and spreads to the left side and lower left of the back, i get hit by a sudden feeling of weakness and have to lie down. What are the possible causes of this pain, and could it be linked to my other symptoms? p.s. i am fully aware that this is not a diagnosis, it is just to know wether or not i should get this checked by my GP. p.p.
1800585 tn?1315853521 Have you had your appendix checked or removed? One of the signs of appendicitis actually is if the pain is BETTER when pressure is applied and worse when that pressure is removed. It is possible (although not very common) to have chronic appendicitis where you get inflammation periodically, but it doesn't go into a full blown acute attack.
Avatar f tn You may be able to tell if it's appendicitis. Have her push on the area that hurts in her lower right. If it hurts more. It SHOULDN'T BE appendicitis. Most of the time appendicitis will find relief with pressure and (sadly) extreme pain when pressure is released. Also, I WOULD ask for an ultrasound because that's how my first ovarian cyst rupture presented!
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar f tn If this has been going on for 5 days straight again, please contact your Dr. again. I know they haven't found anything in previous bouts, but I would still give him/her a call again. It does sound like you may have a problem with a nerve there. We get so many aches, pains, pulls and tugs during pregnancy, but rarely are they bad enough to keep you bedridden. Chances are it's nothing to harm you or the baby, and just very unpleasant, but I would still keep telling them.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar m tn Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever. As the swelling in the appendix increases, the pain tends to move into your right lower abdomen. It focuses right above the appendix at a place called McBurney's point. This most often occurs 12 to 24 hours after the illness starts.
Avatar m tn He felt around for my hernia, took note of my symptoms, and said that my hernia was basically healed and that he thought that I could have appendicitis. This came as a surprise. He said that if the pain got any worse within the next day or two, or if the pain didn't go away at all, then we should go into the ER. The pain got slightly worse and a lot more frequent within the next 2 days so we decided not to risk it and go into the ER.
Avatar m tn How can you identify ovarian cyst pain? What is the usual size of the cyst need to undergo surgery? Describe the difference between appendicitis?
Avatar m tn I took plan B on the last day of my period which was december 25th and starting on the 29th i had soreness in what seems like right above the ovaries, a pain on each side of my abdomen. I also have this pulsating around my belly button and it will shoot down to the right side then give me back pain. I also have headaches and have gotten easily hot and overheated during the night. I know im not pregnant because ive testes and JUST came off my period and it was normal. Could this be my apendix?
