Appendicitis or bad gas pain

Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis or bad gas pain

appendicitis

I know I am going out on a limb here, but I cant afford to have the surgey and it isnt real bad. In the past I have just not done anything and in a day or two the pain goes away. It has been two days now and it isnt getting better.
When i experience this sharp pain, few min later i pass some (gross again) smelly gas. Pain subsides but returns later again. I have been diagnosed w/ibs. The pain i generally feel when its not sharp is like a small bee sting. I do off and on have nausea. Couple weeks ago i was seen in the er for upper right abdominal pain. Got brushed off as if it was nothing. Couple days later went back cause was getting worse and my dr. wasnt available and they ran blood work and ct scan. All normal.
i havent lost my appetite , my back hurts so much too its ridiculous , or i expirinence bellybutton pain when im super constipated , or i also get chest pain my breast hurts like it feels like really bad trapped gas , i also expirience pain under bellybutton like where the anus is located , i sometimes get pain on my appendix area & i worry last time i was constipated trying to have a bowlment & only gas came out with mucus ! can this be maybe ibs or appendix attacks ?
I was told that in April for another er visit, put on antibotics, pain never left. The pain mimics appendicitis, but with having lap in Aug,dr said it looked normal. Is it possible for bacterial infection of vagina to be this painful and spread? I have not been sexually active (not in this pain..last thing on my mind is sex haha) and I'am std free.Could repeated vaginitis infections without treatment lead to pid and be source of lower abdominal pain? it travels down to my hip and thighs.
Does this sound possible based on the continuing pain? Or could the pain from the previous virus I had STILL be present after all this time? Or could it be a food allergy? Thanks.
at 16 was told I had IBS,wasnt too bad nothing I couldnt handle or tolerate..have some bad days constipated or the big D with cramps but didnt hit me like what im having now for last 7 months, usually had relief after bm, now its severe abdominal pain, belly button area, low left and right side pain,,sometimes radiates upper area and pelvic/rectal pain, stabbing pain, not crampy.
I tried lying on my right side last night; big no-no. The pain is still there, but doesn't seem as bad. Is it better, or just resting? :o) I read enough about appendicitis to know that I reallllllly don't want mine to rupture. Pastor Dan, my extended family is just fun enough to move the party to a hospital room; at least the cake and a few presents, maybe not the whole birthday dinner.
it ussually starts with really bad gas pain, my stomach will distend and I will be almost imobilized by the pain, this lasts about a day. after that I will have very bad constipation, I will feel like I need to use the bathroom but nothing will come out this last anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. its like having diareah(sorry about the spelling) but with no relief. after that I do get diareah that will last about five days.
You really need to get to the hospital if the pain is too bad to stand. It could be a nasty gallbladder attack, appendicitis, or a bunch of other potentially serious things. If you have a fever and/or lack of an appetite go to the ER ASAP.
it could be gas pains or round ligament pains too. I know sometime I get both of these so bad I'm in tears just trying to move. My dr also told me that sometimes your pubic bone gets inflamed and that causes some awful pain as well. I'm sorry you're going though this...pain during pregnancy is no fun.
dull pain near navel (sometimes anywhere in ab or back area), fever 99-102, loss of appetite, inability to pass gas, painful urination, cramping (your appendix is on your right side). Also, my sister has fought kidney stones all her life and her pain is usually from the back to the front and can be all the way down to the groin area. Is there blood in your urine? The pain she gets is usually all of a sudden and intense. She's often passed out from the pain or is too weak to move.
I have pretty bad IBS and some days it is so bad that I have to take muscle relaxants or put a heating pad on my abdomen a lay down until the bowels "unkink". Monday I was having that type of pain with my bowels but it wouldn't stop. I figured it was stress so I took a pain pill and pushed on. I started vomiting nearly non-stop but that's pretty common for me too. Tuesday same pain.
You might want to call your doctor, it could be appendicitis. Gas can also do this, ovarian cysts can too, ectopic pregnancy can do it too. It's better to come away from a wasted trip to the doctor than to sit on something that should be looked at.
It hurts to grunt or move much, but goes away after passing bad smelling gas but then later returns to repeat. I do get constipated ALOT and was diagnosed w/IBS. Iam verrrryy bloated! The same day i had these pains, i just got done eating kidney bean salad w/onions. Couple hrs later had the pain. I had burritos for dinner that same night. May have added to the problem, not sure... But the next day, went shopping and the pain returned in the LOWER right side and shot into my rectum.
I have lower right abdominal pain, it seems to get very bad when I start to urinate, and also feel a lot of gas and pressure in the rectuM? what could this be?
thought it could be some type of stomach virus. The last week i was on a cruise, and the pain had greatly increased, pain was on both sides and middle of abdomen. At times when i pushed on my abdomen it was very tender, at other times it is not. My appetite is somewhat wierd, i still want to eat but the pain sometimes makes it not possible, and especially after meals it is worse. Around night is seems worse.
Most people aren't aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble. The way the colon is shaped and with the gas rising upward, when laying on the right side it gets trapped in the ascending and transverse sections of the colon and is not as easily expelled as it is when laying on the left side. I recommend trying some OTC treatments like beano, gas X, prilosec, prevacid, Mylanta, mylox etc. for a few days.
I would like to know how many people feel that they get atrial fibrillation and feel that it may be related to gas or full, bloated stomach, intestinal or digestive tract troubles etc? Any way I also would be interested in what anyone might have to say about it and or what they may have learned from this if they know or even think this to be the case for them and would also like to correspond with others to trade stories and info on what they've learned and done. Be well.
last night,. i had 3-4 simultaneous stabbing pains that lasted 2-3 seconds in the sternum/heart area, VERY scary very uncomfortable. i do not know if this was GAS or if it was ACID REFLUX the docs always say either its ACID REFLUX or its "anxiety or stress" related. And yes when im full of gas, i am bloated , have a weird sensation in the body, a lil dizzy,. but once i release it, its like such a relief ! bloating goes away, i feel so good, but its hard to release it.
Well, there can be many causes for this pain such as muscle pull, colitis, IBS or trapped gas. However, since it is in right side and in appendix area, it is important to rule out appendicitis immediately. Please consult your doctor regarding this or go to the ER. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
I do not have nausea or vomiting or fever with this pain so far. It hurts so bad during the attack but I do not want to go to the ED and it not be anything but something like constipation. Have any ideas of what it is and what I should do?
However, abdominal pain could also be a sign of ectopics, polycystic ovaries, IBS, Crohn's, pelvic inflammatory disease and similar conditions. Appendicitis causes pain that comes and does or may continue. The only way to confirm is by ultrasound of abdomen. This is quite safe in pregnancy. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
abnormal uterine bleeding, excessive thirst, severe fatigue, vaginal pain, bladder pain, painful intercourse, extreme gas, and depression. I was not only ignored but told it was all in my head. I have suffered with this pain for over 12 years. I have given up and am using this website as a last resort. I have only been with one man, my husband, but cannot have relations because I don't particularly enjoy intercourse, I find it nausiating and very painful.
Even on this drug, however, I still experienced burning pain, throbbing pain, stinging pain and continually abnormal/strange movements, including some very loose ones and some dark, hard pellets. I have also noticed that my gas NEVER smells when I flatulate (since I ate that food, which is not normal for me), and my stools hardly smell at all, although if I smell close to the bowl I've sometimes noticed what I would call a "fishy" smell.
I can hear gurgling, but it seems I cant get the apparent gas to move. In terms of pain or gas pressure, eating doesn't change anything and it's no worse at night. I never wake up because of it. I also haven't really changed anything in my diet. I can press on the right side, middle and top and feel some pressure pain from pushing down. I have no other symptoms such as bowel changes, blood in stool, vomiting, weight loss or fatigue.
I had a 6 year old (Native American) go to the OR for appendicitis (right lower quadrant pain) and then they found the tip of a low hanging gall bladder and had to extend the incision all the way up.
I hate to keep going to the doctor everytime there is an ache or pain, I feel like I may over reacting. This pain does not feel like acid or gas. More like something is inflammed. I am concerned that I may have something seriously wrong with me, but don't know if I even have symptoms of anything. There is no fever, occasional loose bowels but not bad, no blood. I also have been going through a lot of life changes lately which have been very stressful. I am on no medication.
Have they looked at yours? Or your gall bladder? These 2 things can cause pain in the belly too near or around where ovarian pain would be. Good luck to you!!! Female reproductive organs & abdomens are sooo finicky!
This all took about 4 hours, and it was gangrenous appendicitis, so very serious. Most tummy aches are related to gas, constipation, or acidity/GERD in my experience.
