Appendicitis and swollen lymph nodes

Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis and swollen lymph nodes

appendicitis

Also both the lymph nodes on my pelvis have been swollen this whole time. I dont know if ive been running fevers, and i do not feel like throwing up. Are these signs of appendicitis or something else? thank you.
I didn't have appendicitis, but they found that the lymph nodes near my appendix were swollen. They sent me home and told me to check up with my doc. so when i did a few days later, she told me i have a virus that causes my lymph nodes to swell. All she did was give me Naproxen because it's an anti-infammitory. But i could only take that for about three days becase it was very hard on my stomache, as i am only 16 and weigh about 125 pounds.
The report showed that part of the appendix was hemmoraging and was leaking pus and fluid into my abdominal cavity. The lymph nodes were very swollen and that it appeared that I had ACUTE APPENDICITIS probably a month or two ago but that it had somewhat resolved itself. The pain I was feeling was not only my appendix swelling but the fluid being leaked into my body. I almost fell out of my chair when the nurse told me that based on the report I was very lucky that I had the surgery when I did.
They either did not tell me (or I can't remember) why my lymph nodes are enlarged. It now feels like the nodes under my jaw is swollen and I have a sore throat. I am in my early 40's and have 2 children 7 & 2 yrs old. Both of them were c sections and after the last one I had a tubal ligation done. Since then I have had pain off and on in my lower abdomen and have light spotting after my period.
But, if your D is low, or your have an electrolyte imbalance, I do believe this can result in symptoms as you describe. Any swollen lymph nodes? Night sweats? these would be things to be concerned about. Do you get enough calcium ? Sodium? Good luck and feel better !!
Green stool means it is passing thru the intestines too quickly, and yellow indicates gallbladder or liver issues. Did you ask the second GI about the swollen lymph nodes and inflammation? If he went over all your tests he would have seen that you had some symptoms going on, and he should have tested further to find out what is going on. IBS can cause the feeling of having to have a BM but you really don't, and still feeling like you need to go after you just did.
very, very swollen lymph nodes in the pelvic area (left side); nausea; loss of appetite; constipation; sharp pain in the lower, right abdominal area as well as muscle spasms; and a shooting pain down my right leg. Please, please help me.
I got a cat scan (they did not give me contrast) and the only thing they noticed was that I have slightly enlarged lymph nodes in my abdomen. I was sent home with vicodin and instructions to follow up with my family doctor... The pain continued for quite some time and I would call my doctor and they would always advise me to go to the ER... the second time in the ER, nothing was done except blood work which showed the elevated white blood cell count again...
sounds like the pneumonia is ppresenting very low in the lung and he feels stomach pain from the base of his diaphragm the way my son did/does. Also some kids get a lot of pain from the lymph nodes (immune system glands) at the top of the stomach when they are swollen and fighting off infection. The syndrome is called MESENTERIC ADENITIS. it oftenm presents the first time in severe infections like pneumonia and is often mistaken for appendicitis, so that's how bad the pain really is.
Acute phase characterized by fever, conjunctival hypermia , swollen hands and feet, rash, and enlarged cervical lymph nodes. FEVER lastin longer than 5 days that is unresponsive to ABT, conjunctivitis, crusted and fissured lips, swelling of hands and feet, erythemia, lymphadenopathy {a condition that causes swollen glands and can be caused by infection or cancer.} 2.
I have pasted some information about mesenteric adenitis so that you can you can understand what this is. Mesenteric lymphadenitis is an inflammation of the lymph nodes on the wall of the mesentery (the covering of the intestines). If is often a childhood illness, though occasionally seen in adults. It is a very common cause of abdominal pain in children, mimicking appendicitis, and often difficult to differentiate from appendicitis.
Wound up in the ER two weeks ago thought I had appendicitis, turns out it was a new cluster of swollen lymph nodes 1cm+. Dr. is now concerned and going to do an exploratory laparoscopy. Two surgeons will be present - General and gyn History: I am no stranger to surgeries.
About five months ago, I had lower right side pain that lasted a couple days, and after several tests (including CT), the doctor said all I had were swollen lymph nodes and after a series of antibiotics, I was fine (no appendicitis). Well, the pain is sort of back and it has been for a couple of days. The pain is not constant nor severe. It really is kind of a pressure-type pain for a couple of seconds and then dissipates.
Done the gammit of allergy tests, ear docs, eye problems-floaters, ear aches from hell neck and jaw swollen all the time, headaches. reading all of these pages has actually given me some relief! I asked my doctor about the relationship of my ear face and neck pain and he says he's never heard of the relationship between bad teeth and all these symptoms. I have extremely painful teeth and am ready to have them all pulled. Can't afford it but willing to go through it some how.
The friend has reassured me time and time again that he is negative and plus we used protection. But everynow and then my ocd flares up and nothing that anyone says can convince me otherwise. The friend thinks that I am a complete lunatic and we hardly speak to each other anymore as a result of all this. This isn't the first time I have thought I have had HIV, in the past I have worried about this and despite negative tests I still remained convinced that I have HIV.
I had similar pain in June, and after several tests including a CT scan, the doctor that time said my appendix was fine and said I had swollen lymph nodes. The pain subsided after about a week after that time. I haven't had a CT scan this time as I am afraid of it showing nothing and me getting so much radiation for nothing (my doctor told my that if it gets worse, go to the ER). I was wondering if there are any other tests that can be done for me to get a good diagnosis besides CT.
I had had with a prostitute unprotected vaginal sex. After 6-7 days, I had the feeling of swollen lymph nodes in my thigh.Kann not tell if it really were the lymph nodes. After 8 days I had severe pain in the upper Bauchbereicht below the ribs. After 11 days I was with a nurse. She could not detect any swelling of the lymph nodes. Today I only hurt even slightly. I am very excited and I do not know how to spend the day is. If the symptoms are typical of Hiv? Should I make one for 2.
It can also be compared to a feeling of fullness, like after a big meal, yet localized in a small area of my abdomen (lower-right side 2 inches to the right of my belly button). I have no lymph nodes that are swollen, my blood work was "beautiful" according to the doctor, liver was fine, and my urine test yielded only 1-3 white blood cells, which, according to him, was insufficient for any real possible infection.
Well, about a month ago, I started getting this abdominal pain in my lower right side and an urgent care doctor sent me for another CT scan after my white blood cell count came back high, this time of my ab/pelvis to rule out appendicitis. The results showed that I had slightly swollen lymph nodes. He put me on some antibiotics for two weeks and the pain subsided a little bit, but it's back again, this time a little less localized.
They gave me pain killers and that caused me to be constipated and my pelvic muscles were sore so I thought I cought an std like gonoherrea or clamydia went and got tested negative they told me it was cause I was constipated. Then I wondered why would I get sick looked up what causes swollen lymph nodes and hiv was there. Big mistake.
at the ER they did CT scans, ultrasounds, and many other tests to find out what what was wrong but the only thing they said they could find was swollen lymph nodes in my pelvis and a cyst on my ovary. now im only 18 so i dont think that it would be very common to have ovarian cancer but could it be a possibility?
When the results of the ultrasound came back they told us it was not his appendicts, but that the lymph nodes in his abdomen were swollen (possibly from several strep throat infections within the past few months) and was probably causing his pain. He was discharged late that afternoon. He continues to have the stomache pain (though not as severe). We followed up with our pediatrician a week later, she referred us to an ENT because his tonsills are HUGE.
Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Are you currently having any GI symptoms? Can you feel any swollen lymph nodes in your neck? Also, just letting you know that an x-ray cannot rule out an appendicitis; you need a CT scan or ultrasound to do this (however I don't think this is your current problem).
haven't had a cystoscopy (never heard of it even) all my blood work is fine, they've run hundreds of blood tests, and everything comes back fine, that's how i know its not appendicitis . . . they did all kinds of ultrasounds, kidney, pelvic (internal and external), ovaries (left and right), the pain is not related to menses, it stays the same throughout. they have not rechecked the lymph nodes. . . he didn't think that was the cause of my pain since my pain is so severe. . .
Chronic diarrhea, although seem to have slow intestinal motility Weight loss Abd pain (VERY localized - just to the left of the navel) Large pulsations in abdomen, esp after eating Abd distension Excessive fatigue Chest pain Swollen and frequently painful lymph nodes and glands (especially under arms and in neck) Occasional migraines Low blood sugar Fainting spells (twice since Nov 07) Eye and mouth dryness Excessively thirsty for no reason (but not all the time) Pelvic pain Skin rashes, Arthri
The doctors then gave me a CAT scan, where they observed that my appendix is normal, but one or more lymph nodes in the area are swollen. That was the diagnosis the doctors gave me. I was told to take Aleve for the pain, which didn't work. The pain didn't improve at all, so I went to my regular doctor a while later. She was the one who told my family and I about the fatty liver and constipation.
which showed inflammation of the small and large intestine (ileum area), enlarged lymph nodes and thickening of the small intestinal wall. They have been treating him with a cocktail of antibiotics, morphine for pain, Ketorolac anti-inflammatory. He had been constipated since the previous Friday when he was first admitted but then diarrhea now began on Wednesday. Dark green, very runny with a lot of mucous strands. Diarrhea several times per day and then vomiting began that day as well.
