Appendicitis and ovaries

Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis and ovaries

appendicitis

Avatar m tn If you took plan B on the last day of your period and that was 12/25 then I would say that you are having side effects of the plan B pill itself. Several other members have reported severe, painful cramps around the ovaries and lower abdomen, back cramps, and you will probably start a "period" again in a few days. That is usually a side effect also. An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis.
Avatar n tn My 14 year old sister is experiencing Sharp shooting pains that shot into her lower back. We brought her to the doctor and had tests done. All the blood work came back fine and they also did ultrasounds to check her appendicitis which was fine. When pressure was applied to her back around where her kidneys are you could tell it really hurt. But according to the blood work her kidneys are fine. Also a while back they found that she had a cyst on her ovaries.
1549023 tn?1293924505 i have a cyst on my ovaries and my stomach hurts and is very swollen like, also having fevers.
Avatar n tn From what I understand, the uterus is all that's removed, so you should still have ovaries. As such, you could potentially have a cyst since you're still forming estrogen and such. A website I looked at said that those close to menopause should be warned of the risks involved with leaving the ovaries in place, one of which is indeed a cyst.
Avatar f tn Appendicitis and Endometriosis have a high correlation rate, I concur with the other posters, get it checked out.
Avatar m tn They took another look at the scan and told us that they misdiagnosed the ovarian cyst and said that everything was fine with my ovaries. They said that if I was still in pain within the next 2 days, then to come back in. So, the pain got worse and more frequent within the next 2 days. Naturally, we went back in. This time, they were certain it was my appendix. They even called down a surgeon to examine me, and he was certain it was my appendix.
Avatar n tn See your OB-GYN and a Gastroenterologist. With appendicitis the pain normally starts around your navel and will move to the right and down, or vise versa so I don't feel it's that. But you do have intestines in that area, your bladder, and these are worth checking out. It may also be referred pain from your ovaries or fallopian tubes. Good luck with this and take care.
Avatar f tn my grandaughter went to er and they thought it was appendicitis, after CAT scan came and said there was fluid around her ovaries can you explain what this means She is 10 yrs old
Avatar f tn 1 week later, her pain moved about 3 inches to the right and down an inch. Looks like appendicitis to me. Dr sent us for another sonogram. Nothing. This past week we were back in the ER as her pain was severe - we tried a different ER. More blood work, and a CT scan. Everything was normal. She is now upstairs crying in pain - she says it's just about a 10 on a scale of 1-10. I think it's appendicitis - any thoughts? Any other ideas? Please hurry.
Avatar f tn For almost a week I've been having RLQ pain. Went to er 5 days ago and was told could be ovarian cyst or early stages of apendicitis. Told to come back if pain got worse. Next day I had a bout of severe pain that lasted about 45 minutes, but went away before I could leave the house.(I'm blind so had to wait for a ride) Since then (4 days now) I've been running a fever from 99.1 to 100.4 and am still having pain ranging from a dull ache to moderatly severe. .Should I go back to dr.
Avatar n tn I had to go to the hospital, They said it could be kidney stones, appendicitis,or ovarian cyst. I have a history of abnormal paps and endometriosis, I am scared it is cancer. I dont have insurance if anyone can share some info I would realy appretiate it.
1003498 tn?1263919526 If it were food poisoning, I would have gotten relief from the throwing up. Eventually that night, I went to the ER and was diagnosed with appendicitis. I had an emergency appendectomy that morning. One thing to keep in mind...the pain was never severe, like people often describe it as. It did become more constant that night, but never unbearable. Appendicitis is a life threatening condition if your appendix bursts, so you may wish to see your doctor just to be safe.
Avatar f tn She told mild pelvic fluid could be due to appendicitis. I did my CT yesterday, a week after US. The report says normal appendix, moderately high pelvic fluid, adnexal cystic structure, ovaries not discretely visible due to fluid surrounding. When I googled, it all gives me sweats on possible cancer. I have lost every single family member on my maternal side, including mom few months back to the decease :(.
Avatar f tn My parents figured it was appendicitis, so we told the hospital and they began taking urine, blood and doing lots of scans. My appendix was fine, but it turned out to be a cyst (baseball sized) on my left ovary and fallopian tube. (They said the pain was on the opposite side because the cyst was basically pushing things over, and the pain wasn't bad at all. It was just an annoying thing to feel).
Avatar f tn We did, and they took blood tests and urine tests; It came out negative for appendicitis, but positive for UTI. The doctors gave me antibiotics for it, I took it religiously. Now, I still have this reoccurring pain on my stomach and abdomen area. It starts out like something is wrapped around my stomach, then later my lower right abdomen would start to hurt; The pain would just stay on my abdomen. This goes away after hours. It's accompanied by overall weakness, and nausea.
Avatar m tn He ask me if I wanted my ovaries removed and I told him yes, I did not want to have to go through any more surgeries than necessary. While they were in there they found that I had endometerosis so bad that they had to call in a GI surgeon to remove a few inches of my intestine due to it had started wrapping around it. 4 weeks after my surgery I had a cat scan due to pain I had, I thought maybe I overdid it and pulled something.
Avatar m tn I am 65 years old and had a total hysterectomy in 2007 because I had endomentrial cancer. I have no uterus and no ovaries. The surgery was a surgical cure and I didn't require any additional treatment. I have recently been experiencing menstrual cramping. It feels just like the onset of a period. I have also been taking 1 tsp. psyllium husk in water daily for about 6 months now,. just to inrease my fiber intake. What could it be ??????????
Avatar n tn i asked what muscle/skeletal pain had to do w/ my ovaries and he said nothing and i need to go to the gyno. im very surprised he didnt do any blood work (to double rule out a possible tubal). said i wasn't late enough w/ my period.
727090 tn?1268839348 Thank you for your reply..i fear that i may have appendicitis. Thing is when i lay down and push down on the area from belly button to hip bone and down a little, it dont hurt. I feel alot of hardness, gassy bubbles like crazy. But when i stand up and move around I have a slight uncomfy pain. However the last couple of days, i've had some severe sharp shooting pains real low on right side that shoot down to my (gross) rectum.
Avatar f tn If your pain is located on the sides of your lower abdomen and are worst during periods and when you push the area you feel like an almond sized stiff area, then it might be an oviolation pain, if it is extreme then you may have cysts around your ovaries causing the pressure and pain. Do you have any unusual vaginal discharge? Please give us more detail about your problem so we can give you a better help.
4173185 tn?1350594679 m having trouble finding a good gynecologist that I can trust and an answer to my problem. My pain is mostly my ovaries, it feels like someone is trying to rip them out slowly or like frenzied piranhas are trying to eat them. Both my left and right sides hurt. The pain is sometimes like a pulsating pain, sometimes it is both sides simultaneously, sometimes it is alternating. The pain causes nausea and has actually made me throw up so much it came out my nose.
Avatar n tn About 8 months ago I experienced moderate weight gain. I had significant bloating of the stomach and had trouble wearing pants. I would have a dull ache on some occasions. Sometimes the pain felt like it spread downwards and to my back. It was like a cramp feeling. I felt very full and was always thirsty. I urinated a lot due to drinking so much water. The pains were never sharp. I looked so bloated even though my diet was regular and did not consist of too much dairy or salt.
Avatar f tn I am 38 years old and had a hysterectomy a year ago but the dr left my ovaries. I have been experiencing pain in the lower right area for 2 days now. It hurts to stand too long or walk and when I sneeze or move to quickly. I feel very tired and not myself. Any ideas what this could be?
Avatar f tn I saw an obgyn and ovaries and uterus have been ruled out. My pcp wants to send me for a CT scan of the abdomen. Is she thinkining hiatal hernia possibly caught early?? I am thin, don't always eat the best, not pregnant (my son is 8) . She says its in the area of the ileocecal valve. I have had issues with constipation throughout life. I'm in my 40's.Is there anything other she should be looking for???
2076208 tn?1349341938 I had to have surgery when they found it (was causing pain and I went to the ER thinking I had appendicitis but ended up having a cyst) to remove mine, and I still have my ovary and was told by my gyno it wouldn't cause any difficulty in getting pregnant later on. Hopefully the birth control will work, but worst case scenario, you'll end up having surgery to remove them.
