1305767 tn?1361192676 the racing heart can be a big symptom of the anxiety. Keep taking your meds and they will help. Another thing you can to do is to stop and do deep breathing. Deep breathing helps to slow down your heart rate. It does help, try it.

Avatar f tn Anxiety can definitely make your heart race - in fact it's a classic symptom of panic or anxiety. It's good that they will have caught the fast spells on the monitor. I would just wait for the results - occasional fast heart rate is very common and doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem. There is lots of free relaxation stuff on the web - look up free guided meditation on You Tube, or try the free Insight timer app. I use them to help me relax. Let us know your results.
Avatar m tn What kind of tests did the doctor do? Do you get any other symptoms beside the racing heart? Have you seen a cardiologist? Sounds like you could be experiencing SVT, or supraventricular tachycardia (just the first thing off the top of my head). Exertion can trigger SVT. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/supraventricular-tachycardia/pages/introduction.
982214 tn?1471454781 I notice if I lay down too long and especially at night my heart starts racing. Almost like an anxiety attack but it is just my heart. Last night we went to bed early as we were all up early and really tired. Well I woke up at 11:45 soaked with sweat and my heart felt like I was jumping out of my chest. I know from past experience I have dreams based in what is happening around me or in me. So of course I was dreaming I was in a bank that was getting robbed.

1343409 tn?1296026007 Hello, my name is Amy and I'm 19 years old. 140 pounds 5 foot 4. Lately my heart has been beating abnormally fast when I lay down to sleep. I don't notice it much during the day but at night it goes really fast. Sometimes it doesn't but just as I fall asleep I'll suddenly gasp for air and my heart will be racing. I have had anxiety and depression for 3 years now, but I don't know if its something more serious than that. I'm just tired of being afraid to sleep at night.
Avatar f tn I'm 20 year old male pretty muscularly fit but not in shape if that makes sense any sense. But I've been dealing with anxiety for the past 2 years now and my symptoms have varied widely but many around my heart. I'm generally worried about my heart Ive had sharp chest pains that come and go rapid pounding heart beat out of nowhere even without panic.. Anyone else experience this before and I've also been getting very little sleep in generally wake up still tired.
Avatar n tn Hi. I am hoping someone can give me some input (and maybe reassurance). I had a tough year with death of Dad, demise of a business etc. and it caused anxiety to raise its ugly head as I hadn't really had problems with it in about five years. I went to the ER twice with racing heart and I had low potassium which they gave me pills and sent me home. The racing heart is better as I have been taking some amino acids (l-theanine) which may be helping after trying some GABA and other stuff.

Avatar m tn I have developed heart racing with pressure in my ears and have gone to the er several times. They keep telling me it is anxiety. Anyone else have these symptoms.
248167 tn?1220363690 I have health anxiety also. I have the palps, but not so much the racing heart as I do the skipped beats. So I am obsessed with my heart and have been checked out lots. I get muscle twitches ALL the time, and the make me worry too. At one point I went to my PCP becaue I thought I may have blood clots in my leg. So she knew she had to send me for the scan because of highly anxious I am. Needless to say they found nothing. It's really a tough road, I really do understand.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, however I fail to present any other symptoms aside from the pounding, racing heart. I do not feel scared and do not feel anxious... EKG, echo, holter have all come up clean. I am constantly disturbed in the night by the sound of my own racing heart. I take ativan now and again, but that doesn't slow the palpitations. Does anyone have any thoughts on what this might be?
Avatar f tn So I've woken up in the middle of the night twice this week with my heart racing. It always races and then the skipping heartbeats start up. They skip countless amounts of times in a row. I don't feel bad with them, aside from the panic of course. It could have to do with dehydration and the fact that I'm waking up because I can't breathe and I'm coughing and literally choking on chest goo (yuck). This is due to illness that I'm going to the doctor for tomorrow (I hope).
Avatar f tn ve had this constant pressure in my chest and had shortness of breath. When my heart does slow down, the slightest movements sends my heart racing again. Is this truly anxiety or is there an underlying heart condition??

Avatar n tn m a 28 year old male in decent physical condition. About 2 months ago, my heart started racing inexplicably. I panicked, thinking it was a heart attack, and went to ER. They checked- no heart attack. I did a cardio test and had an ultrasound- all good. So, things were fine. Then, about 2 weeks after all this, I noticed I was having trouble breathing from my 'upper' chest- the upper chest muscles felt tight. I used my inhaler (I have very mild asthma), which didn't help.
Avatar n tn I have checked my pause today at drug store, it was 102. probably today is a hot day, and i walked under the sun for a quite long time. after take ativan, even though i don't have a panic attack ( i just don't feel too good ). I feel much better. it slows down my racing heart. I just wonder is this anxity caused heart racing, or i have a heart problem, since i haven't experience any panic attack today. i get my heart checked up last year this time. echo, ekg, and holter monintor.
Avatar m tn t know if there was anxiety about the chest pain which lead to my heart racing or if the anxiety came from my heart racing. Basically I'm just wondering what the chances are that this is a serious problem or if it's harmless. I'd like to also add that I am a smoker but I only smoke 4-5 cigarettes a day.
Avatar n tn This is not the kind of adrenal you get from being scared, but the kind of adrenal from exercise, chocolate, caffeine and licorice. This is not harmful but produces symptoms of heart racing at times, breathing problems from heart racing, inability to climb stairs without heart racing and feeling out of breath and faint, aware of heart beating and pulses. If you can, increase your calcium intake to see if this helps. Make sure to get plenty of potassium from organic bananas and potatoes.
