Common Questions and Answers about Anxiety physical symptoms

anxiety

Avatar m tn Remember too...the physical symptoms that anxiety produces are VERY real. They are not imagined. They are real sensations brought on directly from anxiety. If you search the health pages under "anxiety"...you will find a HUGE list of symptoms...and that list continues to grow daily. Give the anxiety treatment and chance....at least give it some thought. If that's what it ends up being.....you will be the most fortunate person...b/c believe me...
Avatar f tn I know I suffer from anxiety, but what bothers me, is the physical symptoms. Everyday something new. Today; right side of neck feels swollen or strained. Tried yoga, didnt help. Does anyone feel alot of pyhsical symptoms as well as emotional?
Avatar f tn I had similar symptoms aswell anxiety plays a massive part in most of the reason why you're getting these symptoms but I got a blood test a couple weeks ago and it's come back that I have been low on vitamin d have u had a full blood count ?
Avatar n tn m trying to go to fall asleep. My hope was the buspirone would help control some of the physical symptoms of anxiety that I have around the same parts of my day so I could avoid taking the Benzos. That has not been the case. I drive 40 miles to work each day with pressure/tingling/pain in my left arm, left side of my chest, esophagus, jaw and left foot. I feel like my eyes bug out and it freaks me out as well.
Avatar f tn Ok, I've been reading to get an idea of how long the physical symptoms are going to last. I note it's anywhere from 2-3 days to over 2 weeks. I understand it's different for everyone. Would everyone please share how many days it took them to get at least comfortable physically? Thank you for the suggestions and support already. Just reading the successes, even daily ones, is keeping me going.
Avatar m tn Can anxiety cause physical symptoms? I had an unprotected oral sex enounter about 4 days ago. Its a bit early to know if I contracted anything, but the anxiety is driving me crazy. I keep feeling sensitive in my penis and pubic region especially when I get really nervous. I don't have an visivble std symptoms thus far, can anxiety cause this sensitivity and tenderness? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Does anyone out there suffer daily from physical symptoms of anxiety and if so what are they? I have been suffering daily for almost 2 years now from what seem like neurological symptoms. All my symptoms come and go throughout the day without rhyme or reason. I've been screened for MS and had many tests, MRIs and bloodwork that all comes back normal. They are thinking that all of this is caused by anxiety/GAD. The odd thing is that I don't feel anxious all the time.
Avatar m tn I'm just wondering if anyone can share some of their physical symptoms of anxiety? Such as constant headache, muscle aches, etc...I can read a book or google the symptoms, but i think it would be better to hear it from some of you here in our forum. Any help is better than no help. Thanks!
Avatar f tn To be honest, you sound like yes, you are having symptoms of depression and anxiety. Covid can have after symptoms but for someone that has had covid twice, I wouldn't go there to think you do. There are other things going on and a history with you that would make me think more mental health. What CAN you do? Well, what about digging into the mental health aspect? A psychologist who does dbt/cbt therapy?
Avatar f tn Yes, all your physical symptoms can be caused by anxiety/depression. It's mind boggling what anxiety can do to us physically. You've had 5 doctors tell you that it's severe anxiety, and you need to accept this as the cause and work on that. Anxiety can make us obcess over our physical symtoms....noticing every little thing and more. Our world can evolve around this instead of living life!
Avatar f tn I have a hard time accepting that anxiety can produce these physical symptoms. My doctor keeps trying to reassure me that it is anxiety, but I still have a hard time believeing her.
Avatar f tn I weened myself off of the SNRI about 8 months ago and experienced very intense withdrawal symptoms. I felt fine for a while but for a few weeks now my anxiety and panic attacks have been so severe. I am in constant worry and fear. I can barely breathe, I am nauseated, I have headaches and neck and shoulder pain. I feel as though my throat is closing up and I have felt panicked for more than 72 hours straight. Every single thought causes me extreme panic.
Avatar m tn You may also need to monitor your progress as far as major depression and anxiety symptoms are concerned. All of your symptoms do not seem to be due to anxiety or medicine side effects. A neurologist's opinion regarding the association between L5-S1 disc bulge and sensory symptoms in the lower limbs will be important. Take care.
Avatar f tn t do normal activitys and I feel like I am literally dying and my hair is falling out from constant stress. Has anyone else ever had anxiety symptoms turn physical? Or could this be something the tests missed. I genuinely have been tested for so many things.
Avatar f tn While the above posits many hypotheticals, there's no way to tell on the internet what's going on. What is clear to both LightSeeker and myself is it doesn't sound like a panic attack and Klonopin isn't going to address it. It could be a virus, it could be a bacterial infection, it could be blood sugar as mentioned above, it could be so many things. He needs a doctor willing to do a thorough work-up and not just say, oh, it's anxiety to get him out of the office.
692515 tn?1228895231 Some deal very well inlight of symptoms and have learned to live with them. For others, the anxiety that comes with symptoms is debilitating. If your Dr has given you a clean bill of health, than that is good news. Maybe you could keep a journal and track your symptoms to see if you can associate them to certain triggers. If so, you can then try avoiding them to see if you have a reduction of symptoms. There is a great "Heart Rhythm Tracker" right here.
Avatar m tn I have been dealing with anxiety for many years and from what I read in your post sounds like your anxiety is giving you physical symptoms which it can do. When you start getting anxious try taking deap breaths through your nose and out your mouth while changing your thoughts to I am fine, I am not in danger, I will calm down. Or any POSITIVE self talk.
Avatar n tn even when I try to tell myself its only anxiety~I still have physical symptoms. it sucks!! I am doomed to be this way all my life is how I feel. having chest pains and frequent aches. I had numb fingertips for hours this weekend! whats that all about. I am thinking of going to my PCP and demanding all kinds of tests be taken! But I dont have the money to waste if its just what everything else tells me it is! then, I feel like everyone knows what I have going on.
Avatar f tn Sometimes anxiety can lead to physical symptoms for sure. Sometimes people have health anxiety and begin to feel and notice all sorts of things in their body. This is common, I've noticed, with heart health anxiety and infectious disease anxiety such as HIV.

Avatar f tn m assuming you decided to try Citalopram because of your anxiety. Is this right? If so, what symptoms of anxiety were you suffering that made you decide to try medication? I'm also assuming the symptoms you're describing now are quite different from the ones you were suffering before taking the drug, but which ones were different and which ones are similar?
