Avatar f tn The ginger ale would be fine. I have been drinking ginger ale during my entire pregnancy because the ginger part helps calm my stomach. When it comes to prenatals, the 1st trimester is SO important so start those right away! For headaches, you can take regular tylenol. Each doctor is going to possibly have slightly different opinions based on how conservative they are. There are lists available online for safe OTC meds.
Avatar f tn I also suffer from anxiety and depression and am now off of my medications because of this pregnancy. You're well-being is super important and women on anti-depressants deliver healthy babies all the time. Before i got pregnant, i talked with my psychiatrist about which meds i absolutely needed to get off of (the anti-anxiety meds are a big no-no) if i was thinking about conceiving, and most of mine would technically be fine to take through the whole pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Has anyone bn on antidepressants during pregnancy? I'm seeing a phycologist for different situation and she told me I'm depressed and hv anxiety and I shud tell my ob right away to give me a smal dose of medication. Otherwise I will not get postpartum but go into a deep depression.
477940 tn?1212964169 I did some cross referencing and discovered that it has the same active ingredient as Risperdal. Also, I researched if it is safe during pregnancy and came to find that it increases the risk of having a still born baby. I will post the links: http://****.emedtv.com/ http://www.****.com/ This drug is secondary for use in bipolar disorder. That is why I had to go read about it, because I am a researcher and I know all of the bipolar meds available.

7730563 tn?1393781747 Some medicines are not so safe during pregnancy. But, sometimes the risk of not taking them is worse than taking them. I have seasonal asthma/ allergies. I have been on my inhaler, sinus meds, and 2 rounds of antibiotics in the past 2 weeks.when having respiratory problems such as asthma, when an attack happens it usually causes a fast raipid heartbeat and anxiety. This is not good for the baby. That is why a breathing treatment with the machine is a last resort.
Avatar f tn Panadol (paracetamol) and adhd can't be caused by taking medication.
Avatar n tn The ladies on it have all taken Xanax, Lorazapam, Antidepressants, or mood stabilizers during pregnancy. Their babies have been just fine.........that forum has been a blessing for me, it gives me the reasurance that I can get pregnant, and that my disorder will not keep me from experiencing motherhood. My obgyn knows about my disorder and about my plans on soon trying to conceive, she also knows about the xanax. She did say that she sees pregnant women on meds all the time.
Avatar f tn I have been told that plain Sudafed (Phenylephrine) is safe to take during pregnancy, but I have been trying to research online different medications that are safe to take during pregnancy and it says that Sudafed shouldn't be taken, or should not be taken until the last 3 months of pregnancy. I have taken in 3 times so far during the last 2 weeks to try to calm my nasal congestion, but now I am afraid that I am just doing damage to the baby.
Avatar n tn You should avoid paxil and Xanax in pregnancy however zoloft is safe. Instead of Xanax you could try benadryl it is used off label for anxiety and trouble sleeping. I would speak with your Ob and I would also see if you can find a psychiatrist who is willing to treat you while pregnant. You can't just buck up and deal, that's the nature of depression and anxiety it is a medical condition not just a poor attitude.
Avatar n tn The Simple line of skin care products are safe to use during pregnancy
652671 tn?1353712165 I know you aren't doctors, but my OB GYN is just not helping me with this. I don't have a general practitioner (he retired and they pretty much told me to go elsewhere) I did go to see a psychiatrist at the free clinic, but the man hardly spoke english and in my opinion was an hour wasted. I see a counselor for generalized anxiety disorder (we think that's what i have - i'm not so sure anymore ...

951946 tn?1263565383 cold medications to take during pregnancy. My midwife gave me a list of meds that does include Tylenol, Tylenol Sinus and Tylenol PM, but what I'd like to take is Tylenol Cold/Congestion. (Well, I'd rather not take anything but this miserable head cold is keeping me up all night... if I lie down, my sinuses immediately plug up...) I'm doing all the natural remedies and they are working ok. Vicks Vaporub is amazing!
Avatar n tn I laid in bed all day and then finally remembered my OB gave me a paper with a list of medications I can take during my pregnancy. I saw Robitussin DM and sent my fiancé after some... But once he got home with it, I was apprehensive to take it.. I googled and called pharmacist and then finally broke down and took HALF of the recommended dosage.
Avatar f tn I took 4 ibuprofen during pregnancy 3 hours apart.. I read online that ibuprofen is not allowed during pregnancy??? Does anyone know if it's ok or why it's not allowed my doctors office won't answer but I'm really scared now.
Avatar f tn However, what you should know is that there ARE anti-anxiety medications that can be taken during pregnancy if the benefit outweighs the risks. Typically its best to avoid these during the 1st trimester though. There are also medications that can be used to control panic attacks during pregnancy which are considered relatively safe (Xanax analogs for pregnant women). So, if you were to get pregnant and need help with anxiety then there are options out there for you.
Avatar f tn Its just the start of a urinary tract infection so whatever antibiotics your doctor prescribed shouldn't be an issue since women during pregnancy are more susceptible to UTI's. I know there are some meds you shouldn't take for UTI's while pregnant but I doubt your doctor would prescribe that. If you are ever worried about taking a medicine in pregnancy you can go to rxlist.com and look it up.
