20632981 tn?1503687567 My question is, does Prozac have low side effects like Zoloft but does it work better? And should I be taking a SSRI or SNRI for depression and anxiety, what works better with less side effects?
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
Avatar f tn m also quitting smoking.) He said that one of the side effects could be suicidal thoughts. I have never had these before in my life. I am scared to death that this medication is going to make me think about things like that. Does this happen to a lot of people? And, does it happen with people who don't usually have these types of thoughts?
Avatar n tn Since your panic attacks are happening less, are the headaches numerous and a reason that you cannot take the medication anymore? Or are some of the side effects okay with you now that your anxiety is much better? What does your prescribing doctor say about this? Headaches can also be caused by an endless number of factors in my opinon. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you still under a lot of stress? The point is, that the headaches may not even be related to the medication itself.
983008 tn?1329925830 t think a low dose would produce many side effects and to keep taking it, i think a higher dose can cause side effects - I'll keep taking it and see how I go over the next few weeks thanks Val x
Avatar f tn The second is that some psychiatrist will add Wellbutrin,as stimulating antidepressant in low dosage as an adjunct to the ssri and it sometimes takes away the sexual side effects. But then you're on two drugs, so it's a choice. So give it time, see how it goes, but if you find the side effects are too much for you and you need to try a different medication, do it sooner rather than wait a long time -- the longer you're on these drugs, the longer it takes to taper off them.
Avatar m tn I have been searching for an answer for my physical pains for the past two yrs. I've done all the tests and it's come back normal. My pains physically and emotionally sound very much like the ones I've read on this site. I have come to except that I have an anxiety disorder. I'm considering going on meds. My GP has given me clonazepam to take when needed. I know this is only a temporary medication.
Avatar m tn Hi there! Well, I've been on Effexor for over ten years. Started at a very low dose and I am at 150 mg for a long time now. So, I can't say if I remember all the side effects I had. But I will say that I definitely got sick to my stomach if I didn't eat immediately before taking it. This went away after a week or so as my body adjusted to the medication. I believe that the jitters and anxious feeling is all part of your anxiety.
Avatar m tn 1, your FT3 is on the low side. Most of us find that FT3 has to be in the upper half to third of the range in order to feel well. Yours is only at 45%. I know B6 is necessary to absorb folate, but it just might be too much for you.
Avatar m tn All anti-anxiety and anti-depressants that I know of will cause sexual side effects ie. low libido, lack of abilty to 'perform', etc. I have taken several different ones over the years, and still take them. I have actually chosen to tolerate the low libido in exchange for not feeling miserable all day every day. I am also married, 17 years now, and we are happy. We have had to make adjustments in our sex life to accomodate my low drive.

Avatar f tn So before I was pregnant I had extreme anxiety, and was on and off medication. Didnt really like the effects - I was either a mindless zombie, or super nice and happy. And for the first 2 trimesters my anxiety had been pretty low. But, now I'm 35 weeks and the anxiety is so bad. I get it for big things, small things, or i'll even just be sitting watching tv and get hit with a huge wave of anxiety for no reason. I've started scratching my self..
1679320 tn?1306382914 I went to doctors today purely to discuss medication for my anxiety and i didnt like what i heard. He told me side effects are seizures and bleeding (worst possible side effects). is it really worth the risk?
Avatar f tn I've never wanted medication for my anxiety. My doctor insisted, so I tried it. I started with 10mg of lexapro and I started feeling better some days. I stopped taking it during vacation (because my work apparently triggers my anxiety) and I felt pretty good. When I got back to work I started on lexapro again but this this time I had all sort of side effects possible. My dr.
Avatar f tn I am very scared about starting a medication that has so many side effects. I am also worried about taking medication for a long period of time, maybe for the rest of my life (I am worried it will cause long-term side effects). I should mention that I am also a hypochondriac. Can anyone provide me with support or recommendations as to how I can take back my life?
Avatar f tn I want to know if I can simply stop the medication as I feel these may be possible side effects without suffering too much more?
Avatar f tn It causes anxiety to think about taking it because of the possible side effects. How can I feel better if I need medication but am too scared to take anything???? (my anxiety is all basically health related) Thank you for any feedback... ~A.
671285 tn?1292660161 Many of the symptoms you experienced are potential side effects of Celexa (aka Citalopram), namely agitation, anxiety, fatigue, drowsiness, sweating, and panic. There is no question that you did the right thing in immediately notifying your doctor of these side effects and I'm glad you did. While it is unfortunate that your experience with Celexa was a negative one, it is important not to generalize your experience to all antidepressants.
Avatar f tn I have cancer and am on chemo. The side effect list is a mile long. I do not get all the side effects. I tell the doctor if I have side effects and they give me meds to help. Same with MS there are meds to help. PML is one to give you pause but it is only a few drugs can cause it. I have known people on Tysabri for years with no issues. Many doctors pull you off or take breaks to reduce the risk. If you have side effects that are too much you can switch drugs.
