anxiety

Avatar n tn It depends on the symptoms you gave your doctor when describing the anxiety attack. If you told him you had burning in the chest, stomach pain or nausea he may be trying to rule out the physical causes before treating the anxiety itself.

1553173 tn?1358434089 AHHH the main question. Is the anxiety causing the chest pain or is the chest pain causing the anxiety. Either way you need a doctor willing to find out.
851041 tn?1240695424 I am a 30 year old male with health anxiety. I have noticed that my Health anxiety is at its highest the day after a bingeBinge eating of Alcohol. The symptoms that a hangover produces are often in my case mistaken for serious health problems. For example, if i am feeling sick or have a severe headache i relate it too perhaps a brain haemorrhage or stroke, and i find that it plays with my heart too, giving me chest pains and palpitationsHeart palpitations.
Avatar n tn I have been on Lexapro for panic disorder and depression since may 2008. I barely ever have panic attacks anymore and when I do have one it's not as bad as they used to be so I'd like to say the medication is working for me. I should also note that I do take 1 mg of ativan when I feel too anxious or start to have a panic attack. Anyway about a week ago I started constantly having anxiety over every little pain I feel in my chest.

Avatar m tn YES physical ailments are almost always the prominent feature of anxiety disorder. Keep in mind that anxiety disorder is diffferent then the 'normal' anxiety you are used to experiencing and have dealt with in the past. Severe physical ailments are the main feature along with fear and extreme worry about health, the future, you name it. The nervous system is not functioning properly and thus it can no longer manage your body in the way it normally has.
Avatar f tn I'm new to this anxiety/panic attack disorder stuff... Been diagnosed with having panic attacks when my GERD Acts up and I experience heartburn.. I have a tendency to think i'm dying when I get chest pain - I've seen several cardiologists and they don't find anything wrong. What are the symptoms of an attack?
Avatar f tn re a teenager and have all these hormones going haywire in your body! Definately anxiety can cause this and anxiety is a very real disorder and nothing to be ashamed of. I wish I could have had a way to talk about it at your age instead of feeling like a freak with a shameful secret.
Avatar n tn Whether you have generalized anxiety or social anxiety or garden variety anxiety can only be diagnosed by a doctor.........and at the young age of 13, (even tho it's obvious you are mature for your age) your hormones are kicking into high gear and that can sometimes bring on anxiety. I would urge you to talk to your parents about these feelings and I believe a talk with your doctor is in order. You do not have to feel this way.
5389496 tn?1367259296 What began when you were married to the abusive husband? The anxiety, the chest pains, or both? Anxiety often causes chest pains and tightness, so it's very possible your anxiety has returned, which it has a nasty habit of doing if we haven't dealt with the root cause of it. An abusive marriage would definitely qualify as a root cause. While I don't think it's your heart, I strongly suggest a visit to your doctor and a long chat about your past.
Avatar m tn Hi! I was wondering if anxiety can cause chest pains? And I don't mean specifically during panic attacks because I'm aware of that. But I have generalized anxiety disorder and my biggest anxious fear is of heart related issues. Is my constant worry about my heart causing my persistent chest pain? Is that possible for normal generalized anxiety to do? I'm a 19 yr old male. Iv had 3 ekgs, 1 holter monitor and 1 echocardiogram. Everything normal.

I'm overweight for my height but have always been fit with blood pressure always was fine always been able to run up stairs (which now a problem) should i still be worried that its cardio or not?

489725 tn?1280052553 hi i wont write a big question, i get a lot of chest wall pain that gets worst with anxiety and was wondering if anybody had tips on how to calm it down{chest pain} without anti-inflammatories.
Avatar f tn I am wondering how possible it is that these chest pains are caused by anxiety disorder and/or panic attacks. I have had panic attacks in the past, and I am the type or person who worries and stresses about everything. The doctor last night said there is a chance that it was an anxiety attack. Is there anything that I can or should be taking for anxiety? I feel like it is taking over my entire life and no doctor can give me any answers.
