2036337 tn?1337104009 I eventually went to a lung doctor who did a bronoscopy and I had food pnemonia and a collaped lung that must have healled up. My doctor thought I was having anxiety attacks and wanted to put me on medicine also before I went to the lung doctor because the typed up papers for the chest xrays did not show up the pnemonia. Also I had a friend who went to er several times and the doctors said he was having anxiety attacks.
Avatar m tn But often, even if they suffer anxiety, it may be out of sync with their nature. I had great anxiety (and panic attacks) and was treated like a neurotic. But I knew something physical was wrong. It turned out to be high cortisol.
1955760 tn?1346483744 Thank you so much for your comment! I will look that up as its something I haven't heard of. I was diagnosed as having anxiety disorder and my nervous system was a mess due to stress, and all my symptoms match chronic hyperventilation syndrome. Doing Buteyko has helped alot and I can keep calm when Im very short of breath. But I have been taking preventer (flixotide) which also helps a bit as I can feel mucous build up, so I thought i might have CHVS as well as seasonal asthma.....
Avatar f tn Since your tests are normal, your symptoms of hyperventilation, palpitations and dizziness could be attributed to Chronic Hyperventilation Syndrome. It is characterized by hyperventilation for no apparent reason, frequent yawning, palpitations, dizziness, sweating, fainting, depression, and cold sweats. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. In the meantime you could practice breathing exercises and good relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation.
Avatar n tn I have done seem research and I all see is anxiety attacks. Its really inconvenient I feel bad that I have to be yawning or trying to get breath every 3 minutes. I also feel my left breast very heavy.
Avatar m tn It happens even when I am sitting watching T.V. so it is just out of the blue. Are these anxiety attacks or something different?
Avatar f tn I think it is my anxiety because it feels almost identical to the times I have had anxiety attacks in the past. I have not been diagnosed by a health professional with anything, but show strong signs of OCD, anxiety, and PTSD. I also want to add that I am not depressed or suicidal, so that couldn't be a cause of this. Somebody please help.
2088893 tn?1332686696 Do you have attacks often? I recommend that you maybe see your doctor for some anti anxiety meds, they really help me.
Avatar m tn Hello there, It sounds like you are having anxiety attacks. I used to feel the exact same way until a doctor told me that what I was having is anxiety. In my case I used to feel a lot of pain in my chest and was very very hard to breath, so bad to the point I thought I was having some kind of heart attacks. Anyway the worst were my thoughts.
Avatar f tn Did the doctors say that this could be purely from panic attacks? Has she had anxiety issues in the past? Does she get therapy for her panic attacks? Sorry to ask so many questions, but panic can really be scary, confusing, and can cause all sorts of symptoms.
Avatar f tn I basically lost it and started to suffer from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Very random. I had every sympton known to man. Went to the ER. Had 3 EKG's, been to 2 eye doctors, blood work, CAT scan, **** tests.. nothing. I was obsessed. I started taking zoloft and within 3 weeks, every sympton I had vanished. I have never had a panic attack since the first day of zoloft. I get side effects sometimes but I dont sweat them. I would be like you were I had those thoughts man.
Avatar m tn hi basically i have an anxiety disorder and im trying to find out whether these symptoms i get are linked to the anxiety disorder basically i get these really horrrible dizzy/lightheaded attacks followed by like a vibration in my head ( the best way i can decribe it is like someone has put an electric tooth brush next to my head and turned it on ) the thing is even when im not anxious it can still come on , i can be relaxed and they can still come on sometimes lasting a few mins sometimes it can
Avatar n tn If your inhales are longer than than your exhales it probably is hyperventilation syndrome. This is normally anxiety related (especially if you are in university and completing finals right now, or having stress for other reasons). It also fits with the exercise helping because it helps your body regulate your breathing (since you are more conscious of it when you are resting).
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with anxiety/panic attacks. I am on zoloft daily and ativan as needed. It seems to be well under control now. Have not had a panic attack on 5-6 months now, but these esophageal symptoms have gotten no better. Heart cath was good. Just recently had an upper endoscopy, all was good. I did have a nissen fundoplication for reflux. My reflux is 100% gone. I can eat things that I haven't for years. It is wonderful, but it did not make these symptoms better or worse.
Avatar n tn Panic disorder can cause hyperventilation and oxygen level to drop in your blood. That is probably related to your panic attacks. Especially since you have all other ECG tests normal and have no chest pain. I would not worry about it.
Avatar n tn There is many things this could be: asthma, anxiety, panic attacks, hyperventilation etc. You need a full work-up from your doctor to get some answers so it doesn't happen again. Let us know how it goes!
1949803 tn?1324470499 This is a very old thread, probably nobody on it is still around. But hyperventilation is one of the more common things suffered by those who get full blown anxiety attacks. Because science has no answer yet to what causes chronic anxiety, nobody can answer your question as to why this happens, though the current belief is that signals from the amygdyla in the primitive brain are telling you you either have to run or fight right now because otherwise you are going to die.
1244180 tn?1325899111 I'm just crazy lol so i get the anxiety attacks every day all day. I have just bought a natural pill which I will start taking tomorrow to help relieve it.
Avatar f tn And today I kinda gasped at my daughter when we were playing (like the excited gasp you do when u play with a baby) and I had the burning sensation through my body like in an anxiety attack. Is this kinda like hyperventilation? Or juse an anxiety symtom? Iv resently had a chest xray and 24hr Holtor monitor due to palpitations.
Avatar m tn fearing that it will cause coronary artery spasm/heart attack. I know anxiety causes hyperventilation, i am misinterpreting all this symptoms. I am coping with the fear of coronary artery spasm that, it is similar to heart attack & chest pain should be severe for more than 10 mintues & mostly are young females, but whenever I think of word hyperventilation or whenever I feel anxious, suddenly it comes to my mind.
Avatar m tn just wondering because lately i have been feeling the need to breathe more it happens occasionally it doesnt cause pain just feels really annoying feeling. this could be my anxiety disorder but it has only started happening recently i have done a x ray on my chest all clear! and also i just got over glandular fever not sure if it leaves any post symptoms but just curious to know how its done i might book an appointment next week also had a EKG all good as well.
