Common Questions and Answers about Antihistamine pregnant

antihistamine

not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
If that doesn’t suffice, you should pose this question to your FP or Obstetrician regarding the most effective, yet safe non-sedating antihistamine. The safety issue must take into account which trimester of your pregnancy will encompass the grass allergy season.
Hi All, I am 5 weeks pregnant! and I am having lots of allergies. I sneeze a lot and I am congested all the time. Are there any home remedies for the same? Is this going to affect the baby? Anyone else have these problems?

Is it possible that i'm pregnant? My boyfriend of 7 months and I finally had sex for the first time. Anyway, I refuse to have intercourse with out condoms because i'm not taking any other BC temporarily. This is the first time we had sex, and it was with a condom. I felt I was safe because I keep track of my ovulation days and according to my symptoms and the calendar I ovulated 3-5 days before intercourse.

(*Note: I posted this previously to see if any other Pregnant women specifically could relate. ) I'm 28 weeks pregnant. I've been having sinus problems among other things. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. During the first few weeks of my pregnancy I was experiencing a constant runny nose. Clear phlegm. It seemed to be worse in the morning. It was followed by a long series of sneezes. Everyday I was met by a unusually large amount of clear fluid.
5 mg Klonopin and 1mg Xanax for anxiety, wich I took only when necessary (usually one every 2-4 days). I discovered I was pregnant at 4 weeks and I inmediately stopped taking them. I was also on antibiotics (ciprofloxacin) at the time for a gum infection. I also stopped taking the antibiotic and my dentist prescribed a mouthwash instead. My provider will see me at 11 weeks, but i'm going crazy wondering if I have hurt my baby in any way. I'm terrified of birth defects.

I smoked before I became pregnant in Oct. and quit the day that I found out I was pregnant (at only 3 1/2 weeks)....before I knew I should wean myself.....I didn't smoke much to being with though anyway.......I carried the twins until 9 weeks, so I know the quitting cold turkey wasn't the issue.....Best of luck with quitting! It'll make it so much easier if your fiance does too......And eventually the nausea may cause you to not want to at all!
I never had a migraine until I got pregnant. They put me on reglan since there are no safe drugs for migraines while pregnant. One of reglans side effects is help with headaches. It allowed me to come out of a pitch black room to a dim room with sunglasses on. That was how I spent last winter.
It is medically confirmed that some women want to get pregnant so badly, can get some symptoms of a pregnant woman and actually not be. I am not saying that you are that case. I am giving out info. Not starting your period can also be alot of factors. Stress, tiredness, excercising to much or other physical problems. If you do not start, then I would suggest seeing a Dr again. Many baby dust to you though.
Hi, Loratadine is a second generation antihistamine and considered relatively unsafe in preganancy. First-generation antihistamines are considered safe to use during pregnancy. Examples of first-generation antihistamines are brompheniramine, chlorpheniramine, dimenhydrinate, diphenhydramine, doxylamine, hydroxyzine, and pheniramine. None of the medications in this class of drugs has been reported to increase fetal risk when used at any time during pregnancy.
I am 34 weeks pregnant and a couple of days ago I noticed a lot of red dots all around my belly and now they are really itchy and they are starting to look like a rash. Has anyone else experienced this?
Supposed to be bed rest. Can't!! Work is really really busy and I can't tell people I'm pregnant yet. But will take things easier and minimal walking, no gym, etc. Having quite a bit of abdominal pain this evening, on the left side. But not really much 'cramping'. I see from reading online that this is not necessarily fatal for the baby and it can resolve. Hope I am one of those.
I am 7 weeks pregnant and suffer from chronic hayfever. What can i take??
You could take some over the counter antihistamine medication in the meantime,(if NOT pregnant) but I urge you to see your doctor or a dermatologist for an correct diagnosis and proper management. Take care...

I had test done and they can not find the cause, but I think is hormonal, because it gets really bad when I am pregnant and also when I am going to have my period. Sometimes it disapears for months, even years, right now it's very mild, mostly urticaria. Anyone had surgery (general anesthesia) while having angioedema? do they give you something to prevent it from happening while in surgery?

You are supposed to use mucinex but the one that ONLY has Guaifenesen--nothing with an antihistamine. I used it and I did get pregnant, but it was a chemical pregnancy--age related, nothing to do with the mucinex. Good luck!
