Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
Avatar f tn Supplement with adequate antioxidants and vitamins, especially Vitamin C (3000 to 5000mg per day) which is a natural antihistamine. If your allergy symptoms worsen, increase vitamin C to 1000mg every 2-3 hours, back off the dose if you develope diarrhea. Take a potent multiple vitamin like My favorite multiple Vitamin / Mineral (AMNIĀ® Kids Multi-Vitamin/mineral is a specially formulated for children ages 4 and older.
Avatar n tn I always have a bad reaction to insect bites or stings with really bad swelling. Normally necessitates application of loads of antihistamine cream, taking maximum dose Piriton tablets for days, then a course of strong antibiotics. If I'm in a situation where I know there is the risk of being bitten, is there any advantage in taking Piriton tablets in advance - along with using insect repellent?
Avatar n tn It seems to be concentrated around my belly button which seems to stay pink most of the day, but sometimes fades to white, but much more pale than my natural skin color. Any suggestions on what this could be?
295490 tn?1202698031 m fighting I need to find out if there is some natural way one can stop being alergic to things carried in the dust out side. I can now look forward to being set free in this because last fall and this year I didn't have to fight this problem as much as before. Is there any natural process that one can take to stop being alergic to things like dead weeds?
Avatar n tn I have moderate COPD and am doing well on Duoneb (an nebulizing combination that contains albuterol) and an antihistamine. As for anything else I depend on natural supplements - vitamin B5, mullein extract, and MSM. I breathe more easily now than I have in two years. (Also Advair resulted in adrenal fatigue which I am now recovering from.
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
Avatar f tn You still have a UTI. Try taking 2 plain alka selzers. Also try boiling some water, remove from heat and add 3-4 cloves of minced fresh garlic and let it steep. Then drink up. Try it for a couple of days. Garlic is a natural antibiotic it'd be wise to take a probiotic too because antibiotics kill off good and bad bacteria and you need to replace the good.
Avatar m tn I had done mri year back and it showed infection in forehead and cyst on left side of face....i am taking nasacort and fexofenadine hcl for months and tried other antihistamine also, but the symtoms persist....i am a liver patient with conginetal hepatic fibrosis and 31 years....liver enzymes r normal....should i take antibotics if so which one and dosae and days? Avatar n tn Spiriva (titropium) is a inhaled antihistamine indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Antihistamines frequently cause dry mouth and dry sinuses (benadryl is an antihistamine). The side effect is not considered serious, but you should call your physician if it continues. A saline nasal spray can moisturize the sinuses and possibly reduce the symptoms.
Avatar f tn 5HTP or SAMe are naturopath alternatives to the prescribed anti-depressants. If you are looking at taking these you should still be monitored by a Naturopath Dr. There are differences between the two and someone in that field would be the best person to assess which one would be right for your symptoms. I'm not sure if there would be any contradictions with 5HTP and diazepam as you shouldn't take 5HTP if you are already on an anti-depressant.
Avatar n tn what is the best promotion of faciliting the draining of fluid through my ear to avoid this/treat this? is there a natural way to promote histamine levels? what do i do when it aches so bad?
Avatar f tn t have insurance, but because it was killing me. So instead I took natural anti-inflammatories. I have a regimen of vitamin B5 (500 mg.), mullein extract, MSM and N-acetyl-cisteine. Guess what - they work better than Advair, are cheaper (even though not covered by insurance) and have no side effects. I also take Zyrtec (an over-the-counter antihistamine) or Benadryl. Advair has a good PR program, with side effects given short shrift.
Avatar f tn Freeze dried nettle root is the only form that really works as an antihistamine. Chinese skullcap, or scutellaria, is a good antihistamine. Quercitin doesn't really work well by itself, but does when combined with bromelain and Vitamin C. There are many formulas with this combination at your local health food store.

757137 tn?1347196453 Can anyone advise me which vitamins, minerals, or other supplements are anti-inflammatory? I had to get off inhaled steroids for emphysema and need natural replacements. So far I have come up with vitamin B5, MSM, and mullein extract. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Avatar f tn ve been trying to treat naturally with aloe and stinging nettle drops (natural antihistamine). The swelling has mostly disappeared, however, a blister still remains on my upper lip as well as some sensitivity and numbness. (FYI three clear blisters formed while my lips were swollen but all have healed except for one). Wondering what this might be and if taking Benadryl at this point might still be helpful?
