Avatar f tn There are lists available online for safe OTC meds. Your first appointment you should also ask for a list from your doctor that they can give you as a reference. It is helpful. If you get your migraines and can't kick it, go into the ER. They can help. That's what I had to do. Good luck!!!!
Avatar f tn Since you have reactions to so many medications, it may be that you are allergic to certain food colorings or excipients that are used in formulating the medications. My boss, a doctor, cannot use any products (like soft drinks, vitamins, prescribed meds) that contain one of the common dyes, or he is at risk for anaphylatic shock.

1175033 tn?1492201228 I started taking Valium recently and noticed that the bottle warned not to consume grapefruit of the juice at all while taking this medication. This was a issue for me because I drink hansen's natural cane sugar soda with real grapefruit extract and I had to give that up, but I really didn't want to so I read up on what it will do. One article I came across said it would increase the potency of certain meds by 400% http://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn Hydroxyzine or "Atarax" is a antihistamine, and it seems like thats the first thing that doctors like to try a person out on. It doesnt work that good for Extreme anxiety, but have "heard" that it works alright..."not great" for mild anxiety. Its allot safer then Benzos "Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan" and non addicting. Hiope it works for you.
21064 tn?1309308733 I could really use your help. I am trying to compile a list of common heart medications for one of the Health Pages. So many times someone asks for suggestions, about side effects, etc. It would be great to have a place closeby where we could provide a hyperlink to more information on medications common for heart patients. Will you please help me by letting me know what medication(s) you are currently taking, or what medication(s) you would like to know more about?

Avatar m tn Try steam inhalation, saline nasal drops, breathing exercises, and oral antihistamine medications and see if they help. Let us know about what your doctor tells you and keep us posted on how you are doing. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Robitussin and saline nasal spray. Mske sure there is nothing else in there.
Avatar f tn You should make a list of the medications he is allergic to, and not to use them in his case in the future. Let us know if you have any other doubts and also about how your son is doing. Regards.
Avatar n tn There are numerous medications you can get to treat the affected area. What is not good, is that it is growing. If you do not know what bit/stung you, and the area continues to grow, it's time to see a doctor. You can get bug bite/sting medications at the local pharmacy and just let them know what you need it for and the pharmacist can recommend the best thing for it. Don't let it go to far though.
1722607 tn?1335747858 I wanted to know the names of different medications that might be prescribed during treatment. Names of rescue drugs, anti nausea drugs, or any others that may be given during treatment. I want to look them up thru my insurance to see how much they will cost me if needed. Avatar n tn You could take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications like loratadine or cetrizine and see if it helps with your symptoms. Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions to help soothe the itching. Have you had allergic reactions in the past? Are you allergic to any specific substances?

Avatar m tn m a shallow, quick breather so I can breath between sniffs) and have run the list of medications out there...to no success at all. I might as well take nothing. The shots are even off the table. Any suggestions? Being 23, I'm finding that doctors don't really want to take any health concern I bring up seriously.
Avatar n tn its definately a food allergy and im already allergic to corn, soy, peanuts, most fresh fruit, asparagus, rice, coconut and the list goes on. A couple months ago my face broke out in these itchy blotchy bumps which stay on my face all the time but it seems at least twice a day it flares up and it unbearable. My allergist said i had a staph infection also. Could that be triggering the rash on my face or would it be apart of the allergy? or a combination of both?
Avatar f tn They had given me a steroid shot and steroid pills to continue taking for about 8-10 days. Along with a antihistamine. They worked and rash was cleared up. The same rash appeared about 2 weeks later again i went to the doctor and they did the same routine (steroid and antihistamine). Cleared up again. Now 2 weeks later the same rash is back but not as severe. This time there is redness in my face as well.
