Avatar f tn stuffy nose, occasional ear pain, nose pain, head pain (front of the head). If my nose is stuffy also really depends on the weather, and my posture, if I am lying or sitting it is usually really stuffy, but if I am walking, running, doing sport I can breathe easily.

Avatar f tn I've had a stuffy and runny nose since January of this year. It changes from stuffy to runny to back again very frequently and randomly. It keeps me up at night and frustrated during the day. I'm 16 and have never been tested for allergies as this is the first time these symptoms have bothered me. I've also never had the flu. I've been under a lot of stress this year due to switching to three different schools and relationship/emotional problems.
Avatar n tn Hello, The most common way to get rid of a stuffy nose in sinusitis is to use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen. However, you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. Avoid indigestible, spicy, foods and meats. And obtain needed out-of-door exercise, sunbaths, and swimming. It can also be treated using an antihistamine nasal spray or saline nasal sprays.
Avatar f tn Corticosteroid sprays are also helpful but their ling term use can cause side effects.Better to use saline nasal sprays. The golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose. You may also find that adding some menthol crystals, or eucalyptus oil, to the water, helps to ease your symptoms of catarrh.
Avatar m tn m a bit skeptical as to whether or not it was a cold or just an alergic reaction. The symptoms have drastically decreased. My nose is still half-way stuffy, and I'm still spitting up white phlegm, but it's more of an annoyance now than anything else. Some people I've talked to think that it's post-nasal drip.

Avatar m tn You might be possibly suffering from allergies. Have you tried taking any sinus medications? I sometimes have this problem and I take medication for sinus pressure/headaches.
Avatar f tn It's possible that you may just be having allergies. Do you have a stuffy/runny nose also? I get watery, crusty eyes from allergies also. Sometimes with runny nose, but sometimes it's just my eyes. Try taking an antihistamine, or maybe some eye drops made for allergies and see if it makes a difference.
Avatar f tn I've a chronic allergy with the stuffy nose, difficulty in swallowing which thanks to god is getting better. But well these days I started to feel soreness in my throat that becomes less sorely when I drink warm tea with honey, or gargle with salt and water. I've searched in Google and all the answers suggest one thing "Throat Cancer". I want to go and visit the doctor and do some check ups but I'm really afraid that it turns out to be cancer.

Avatar n tn I have went quite a while without a nose spray or antihistamine being ok. Then i will get stuffy/sinus pressure. My Dr ordered a CT scan a year ago and said i had a deviated septum and some nasal polyps. I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up.
Avatar n tn Hi Josh, sounds like allergies, you ave a stuffy nose, post nasal drip down to your throat, itchy back of troat and ears. I bet its only seasonal, so just take some over the counter decongestant/antihistamine and it should be ok. And go see a Dr. to determine what you're allergic to.
Avatar f tn Also would Alegra help with my rash and itching or is that just for sneezing, stuffy nose and stuff like that? Also my cat is an outside cat but she hangs out on the front porch right outside my air conditioner in the living room and I am wondering if some of those allergens could be coming in the house? My itching did not start till we got the dogs tho.
Avatar n tn Corticosteroid sprays are also helpful but their long term use can cause side effects.Better to use saline nasal sprays. However the golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation.Severe cases may require sinus surgery. Also get X-rays sinuses and chest doen to rule out pneumonitis. Hope it helps.Take care and regards.
