antihistamine

Avatar f tn I currently take Xyzal and Nasacort for allergies and medication for asthma (Singulair and Symbicort). I'm also taking allergy shots for cat dander and grass pollens. When I go running by wooded areas I get a horrible runny nose. My runny nose goes away about 10-15 minutes after I get inside from my run. I'm wondering if it could be from allergies or if it could be from something else. Thanks.

Avatar f tn Dear community, I've been trying to find a help for a really long time, I would immensely appreciate any help. My problems started more than 2 years ago, while I was in the US for a year (work related) There I had problems with my nose, i couldn't breathe and it was stuffy all the time. I survived with some kind of special nose spray, which helpes me to just stimulate the pain, I was also taking antibiotics, which helped me to get mucus out but the pain always came back.
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
Avatar n tn My pug has been suffering from breathing problem since a few weeks. He has had a running nose, hard to breathe and very uncomfortable specially during the evenings. The vet has given him two rounds of antibiotics which don't seem to be really working. I personally have given himm 1ml of antihistamine( human) that seems to give him some respite. The vet did take a swap test of his snort but that was 3weeks ago but has not called me back. I am really worried because he is very uncomfortable.
Avatar n tn Acetaminophen is a pain reliever and a fever reducer. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine (reduces inflammation, helps with drippy nose and eyes from allergies, etc) Coricidin is an over the counter OTC drug. The DSM-IV is system for measuring the risk of substance abuse or for assessing mental disorders. You may be thinking of classification of narcotics? or pregnancy drug classification? OTC drugs are not classified.
Avatar f tn Since then I have a running nose all the time. My doctor doesnt seem to care, but is very annoying. Does anyone have a reason for this and a solution?
6696547 tn?1383850281 Hi, Every day morning when I woke up, I used to sneeze at least 4 times and so by that a running nose. I'm allergic to dust and i got a slightly bigger nose than normal....
20315163 tn?1494892428 I tried every H1/H2 antihistamine but this didnt help. I took guanfacine for my runny nose but that barely did anything. I went to see a primary doctor and he prescribed a nasal spray that would stop the nose from running and an antibiotic. None of which helped at all. I also tried different eye drops for allergies, redness, crusting and they did not help either. The only benefit to the eye drops was the improvement in my red eye going away.
Avatar f tn For months i have been experiencing catarrh that refuses to go. My nose is constantly filled with mucos, please what can i do?
Avatar n tn If you use an antihistamine thinking it's an allergy when indeed it's really a heart problem, the antihistamine can make the heart worse, so you must get a diagnoses before you treat..... Licking air is usually Nausea or acid reflux....Post nasal drip normally causes a cough...Good luck & let us know what you find out....
Avatar f tn Since then I have avoided taking any antihistmaines except for Benadryl. I did take an occasional Claritin but it seems like every time I did anything I break out more. My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl.
Avatar m tn thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines? are there no others for enlarged prostate sufferers? 2nd question is after stopping the intake of antihistamine that effect the prostate, woiuld these be a short term effect and the prostate goes back to how it was?
Avatar n tn It sounds like either allergies or reflux triggering the running nose which triggers the coughing. You need to know and treat the cause. Asthma is also a possibility. God bless.
Avatar n tn I have had bad smell in my nose for several months now. One ENT doctor used Endoscope and diagnosed me as paroxysmal rhynitis and gave me 7days antibiotics, 14 days antihistamine and steroid nose spray. I also flashed with salt water twice a day for more than a months now. The strong smell went away for a few hours but when I sniff with my nose I can still smell it. I went to another ENT doctor and had CT Scan done.
Avatar n tn It starts with an itchy sensation in my upper chest, then my eyes start to water and my nose starts running, as I am coughing uncontrollably. It usually last about a minute or two, but when I am done my face and eyes are red from the strain of coughing. Its so embarrassing because it happens at random times, and I often be in public or in class so I have to quickly excuse myself. It feels like I have to sneeze but sometimes I can't even get out the sneeze. It horrible!
Avatar f tn The liquid gels worked great as a boost to my normal antihistamine for the itching. They were very portable and still and liquid for faster effectiveness. See a dr.
Avatar n tn i have a constant cough, running nose and sneezing and gets worse when i go to bed,any suggestions?
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it

268356 tn?1236002604 Ugh, I feel awful. My head is all stopped up and my sinuses are draining down the back of my throat making my throat ache and my head ache. I'm not running a fever and (TMI) the snot is still clear so no infection. Just miserable. I have tried benadryl and sudafed, neither seems to be helping. I've got some halls cough drops which were also on my okay list. I was wondering is theraflu okay to take?

715068 tn?1392933532 Yesterday we noticed that Copper, our 23 month old Jack Russell mix had some minor swelling on the right side of his nose. He hasn't been messing with it or acting as though it was bothering him but doesn't really want me to touch it either. Today I have noticed that it appears to be more swollen & bruised looking, and feels kind of crusty. (for lack of a better word) I realize he will need to see a vet but I was wondering if anyone had any opinions.
