Avatar f tn They had given me a steroid shot and steroid pills to continue taking for about 8-10 days. Along with a antihistamine. They worked and rash was cleared up. The same rash appeared about 2 weeks later again i went to the doctor and they did the same routine (steroid and antihistamine). Cleared up again. Now 2 weeks later the same rash is back but not as severe. This time there is redness in my face as well.
Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
Avatar n tn And so it has for me. It makes sense. Bacteria breeds in patches on warm damp skin, and makes it itch. Scratching carries the infection - as do tights, socks, the contents of jars of unguents kept in warm bathrooms. Maintain scrupulous hygeine - boil your tights or replace! - and both the rash and the itch disappears. . Steroid creams have not touched the problem, or antibiotics - just old fashioned disinfectant did it in a week. One thousand sleepless nights are in the past.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
Avatar n tn help! I started breaking out with a rash all over my body!! It starts as small blister/pimple like bumps and is EXTREMELY Itchy!! It is mainly on my ankles and midsection but is all over. what could this be?
Avatar m tn I have been Experiencing a pretty nasty skin rash on my chest, Lower back, under arms and stomach since I have stated a low-carb diet. When I noticed the rash about 6 months ago I was just trying the program for the first time and neither myself or my doctor connected the two together. After about 2 weeks of induction (less than 20 carbs per day) I began to slowly reintroduce foods back into my diet and the rash began to fade away.
Avatar m tn Herpes would not appear so quickly and probably not as a widespread rash as you describe. When you say welts though, do you mean red rash with raised bumps like a mosquito bite? No fluid or anything inside? If that's the case, it sounds like an immune allergic reaction, try some antihistamine tablets and see what happens. Of course follow up with a doctor when you can.
Avatar f tn I keep good hygiene, i shower everyday and use a lotion for sensistive skin everyday. my skin is not dry, and this rash thing is only in one spot and i never had this before. well i just e-mailed my mom and she says i dont have Eczema. she says its really ugly and you get scabs and normally is not in one spot. so i would beleive her because she has a friend that has Eczema and it doesn't look like what i have.

Avatar n tn Fungal infection may present with a rash with a well defined border. The rash may be itchy and scaly. In a sweat rash, the rash may present with small vesicles and they may also itchy. They are usually associated with excessive sweating. Do you have any of these conditions? I suggest ,that you have this assessed by a dermatologist. You may need an antihistamine for the itch. Microscopic evaluation of skin scrapings of the area may help define a fungal infection. Do you have any allergies?
Avatar n tn For about 22years now, I have had this chronic unyielding, head to toe itch with no rash. The only thing that helps is a daily antihistamine. There is no rash or real explanation on what the true trigger is. Doctors think it's in my head. I take a daily allergy pill and have for 22 years.
1295629 tn?1297385870 My husband has a rash on his inner thigh and has had it for 2 weeks. cortizone cream isnt working and the rash is spreading to his arms and tummy. he now has the chills and his legs are hurting. im worried it may be related to a tick bite that he got a couple weeks ago.
Avatar n tn I already know what the issue is with the rash. I was looking for a true solution, not a generic one. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a rash that appears mostly in the summer months. It appears on my knees and ankles mostly but can also be seen on legs and feet. It's raised red spots which appear to have white around them. It has come back every year for about 6 years. I live in Ireland so the climate can get warm but not very warm and not very often. When i get to the doctor it has disappeared. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Avatar n tn About a week ago I developed some itchy red spots on my left side just under my breast area. They itched mildly for about 5 days (nothing as intense as poison ivy) and Itch-X stopped the itching. Now they appear to be healing but have become painful. There is one larger spot on the left side of my back that started itching after the rest stopped. I've never had anything like this and am wondering what it might be. Thank you.
751422 tn?1265510035 can i still have sex even if the rash and irritation has started to go away? is it safe even if i use condoms? please help..
Avatar m tn Good morning, 1 month ago I might have had an exposure. I was completely drunk and went to a CSW and had : - protected vaginal sex (using a condom) - don't remember if the condom stayed there and did not break. I was too drunk to ejaculate. - handjob (no condom) - she fingered me anally (using a condom on her finger, however not sure if the condom was new - worst case is that she might have used the condom used for vaginal sex).
Avatar n tn Out of nowhere, yesterday I had a rash. The night before I was a bit itchy but went to sleep fine. I woke up with a rash on each arm right below my elbow. As the day progressed, the back of my neck started itching. Now, today, the rash seems to have cleared under my elbows but now is prominent on my knees, ankles, wrists and upper arms. I have applied cortizone to help with the itching but is there something I should get to get rid of the rash or will it go away on it's own?
1944426 tn?1324088986 You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
