Antihistamine for food allergy

Common Questions and Answers about Antihistamine for food allergy

antihistamine

Avatar f tn sounds like a respiratory allergy. take an OTC antihistamine and use a nasal spray like Ocean Saline Spray. Do not mix antihistamines though such as an oral antihistamine and spray. Ocean Spray does not have an antihistamine and will simply dry you out and is safe to use with an antihistamine.

Avatar f tn Also. I did mention this issue to my allergist, and one day I was able to show her. She said it might be a food allergy, so they tested me to find out. But out of the few things I'm allergic to food-wise, I hadn't just eaten them. So, I know that's NOT the issue.
Avatar n tn I noticed severe itching at just hands and feets with grilled food, especially one kind of grilled chicken. I checked with doctors, had prick test and blood test, but the allergy tests results for meat products came negative. I tried vegetarian for a while, but it didn't change the allergy condition in me. I have to use antihistamine on alternate days and cause of my allergy is still unknown. What should I do, how can I cure this allergy?
Avatar m tn m trying to let my stomach settle down so I can get some antihistamine in me. Does this sound like just a bad upset stomach or allergy?
Avatar n tn It sounds like the antihistamine may be drying your skin or possibly you have allergy skin. You may have a food allergy contributing to your allergies. You could try eliminating common offenders, such as milk, soy, wheat, citrus, etc.

Avatar f tn My lips swelled up out-of-the-blue a week ago. I'm thinking it was a sun allergy because I'd just come from a 4-day seaside vacation. And, although I was very good with sunscreen on most of my body, I feel I may have neglected my lips. I'm pretty sure it's not a food allergy as I ate very simply that day (I did have a couple walnuts but I'd been eating walnuts all weekend, and most of my life, and nothing occurred.
Avatar m tn First food allergy testing was done with Intradermal and Scratch testing. Now I am taking *blood* for allergy testing. Should I: A. Retest foods to rule out false pos. -or- B. Test foods that showed up negative with skin testing? Not enough blood drawn to retest both. Please answer by 4pm Est time 8/22/08 Friday if possible to put on the order. Thanks.
Avatar f tn They had given me a steroid shot and steroid pills to continue taking for about 8-10 days. Along with a antihistamine. They worked and rash was cleared up. The same rash appeared about 2 weeks later again i went to the doctor and they did the same routine (steroid and antihistamine). Cleared up again. Now 2 weeks later the same rash is back but not as severe. This time there is redness in my face as well.
Avatar f tn Possible food allergy. Symptoms began in August as a slight swelling feeling under the front tongue but no actual swelling seen. At this time I was in an extremely stressful circumstance. Symptoms did not go away and progessed the beginning of November into severe pain in my mouth, a feeling of severe swelling under the front and back of the tongue (although still no swelling actually seen), extreme pain in the jaw that was relieved by heat, and swelling in the nasopharynx.
Avatar m tn I remember changing his food about 2 years ago to a natural choice brand from Hills brand. He has a small like stinky feet that only I can smell. Goes away with a bath. Tried many shampoos and skin treatments but no luck. After I take antihistamine I can't smell my dog for a while. So it's with out a doubt an allergy. Triggers my asthma bad too. Once he had fleas and that set off my allergies terrible. It's my allergy is from his skin I think. Won't give away, too attached.
Avatar f tn I asked for a referral for allergy testing last November, and I am going to have to wait until June of 2011 to get in for an appointment because the Canadian health system is terrible. I ate some raw egg today (meringue) forgetting myself.... my allergy to raw eggs was not really all that bad before, but now it's been over an hour and I'm still having symptoms, I even considered going up to the hospital if the swelling didn't stop (which it has started to get better).
Avatar n tn Flea allergy dermatitis should really be a thing of the past if you are using a reliable topical anti-flea and tick medication. Obviously, what you are using is weak and ineffective, or you are not placing it on frequently enough. If Frontline and Revolution are ineffective in controlling the fleas, than try K-9 Advantix,or Vectra, or other newer product, (prescription is better, since they are newest and the flea's have not yet developed resistance).
Avatar m tn ve tried an elimination diet to check for food allergies, still itchy. Anyone else with IBS had this combo of symptoms? What could this be? Could it be allergies, or maybe nerves, or something directly related to the bowel problems?
