Avatar f tn Has anyone else had a problem like this? Any suggestions on how to deal with my allergies? I have many allergies but things have been fairly bearable until pollen season. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have allergies, dust, hay fever, cat hair ect.... not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time...
Avatar m tn Docs treated me with anxiety drugs for many years due to an undiagnosed autoimmune disorder. The anxiety was caused by my disorder and since diagnosis and treatment, my anxiety is under control without meds. I began having severe reactions to anxiety drugs and stopped taking them altogether and would never touch them again, due to the damage they caused to other parts of my body.
Avatar n tn Its the environment and food additives that people are reacting to. It is best to eat as whole food diet as you can. Less ingredients the better. A small tsp of apple cider Vinegar sometimes helps the throat. Or eat a pickle without "natural flavorings". Vinegar helps neutralize and brings down swelling. Even Walmart has been injecting their meat with hydolyded proteins that I will itch with. So even whole food ingredients now have to be checked.
Avatar n tn Having several allergies, including many outdoors one (trees, grass, mold, and oas resulting) as well as some food allergies, and also pet allergies, i finally went to see an allergist earlier this year. He prescribed veramist for my seasonal allergies and suggested that i take a combination of NASALCROM(nasal), PATADAY(eyes), and intol (chest), ten minutes before entering a home with cats. Initially i saw great results with no allergies for about 3 or 4 hours.
Avatar f tn Hi All, I am 5 weeks pregnant! and I am having lots of allergies. I sneeze a lot and I am congested all the time. Are there any home remedies for the same? Is this going to affect the baby? Anyone else have these problems?
Avatar f tn My seasonal allergies have now become year round allergies. I live in So. Cal., home of the unending drought, which I am sure is making the issue worse. I cannot take regular allergies meds/antihistamines, as they make my heart race. Any alternative treatments or supplements would be greatly appreciated. Oh and if you happen to live in SoCal too and can recommend a good alternative allergist or chiropractor (I live in Glendale), I would be so grateful. Thanks.
Avatar n tn DSM-IV does not classify medications. Coricidin is an antihistamine, not a mental health medication.
Avatar m tn They can test you for food allergies. I recommend blood testing over skin testing for results. I have lots of stomach issues too and have always wondered if it was food. I am going in for a colonosopy next week. I need to wait until I can go off antihistamine to test for the food allergies. I'm doing the big blood test for as many foods and stuff as possible. Thats about 2 weeks away. I have not been able to go longer than 1 day with out my antihistamine which is holding up my food testing.
Avatar m tn I think you should consult with your dr. Many people mistake allergies for a cold. I would suspect that your allergies are more severe than you think. Another option would be acid reflux which can cause sinus and asthma symptoms. You need to see a dr for an accurate diagnosis and then work from there.
Avatar m tn We have pretty much eliminated anything new she has came into contact with in terms of food, clothing, products etc. What should we do at this point if antihistamine drugs only helps temporarily and it has been a week?
Avatar m tn s been 25 minutes since I took antihistamine. Not sure if the 20 minutes helped or if the antihistamine helped. But I am breathing ok again and my other allergies went away mostly too. My stomach still feels like I swallows heavy sand. The nausea is gone too. Just stomach cramping now.
Avatar f tn I have had various allergies all my life (none life-threatening), when I was a child I had a lot of food allergies that have since gone away, and I have always been allergic to cats, dust, mold, and pollen, most of which required very occasional antihistamines to manage symptoms. But just within the past two years or so I have started developing more serious food and inhalant allergies that continue to get worse. It seemed to start with serious reactions to various types of beer and wine.
Avatar n tn My wife had what we think was a food allergy about 24hrs ago, after eating melon and then exercising, characterized by severe hives all over her body. She has lots of grass/pollen allergies and has sometimes gotten a raspy voice and mild red spots after eating melon before. She took some OTC antihistamines but couldn't sleep, and the hives were really bad this morning, so we went to the hospital, where they gave her an IV with antihistamine and cortisone. The Dr.
Avatar m tn I WORK IN MEDICAL RECORDS AND HAVE WORKED IN THE NURSING AREAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR MOST OF MY ADULT LIFE AND FROM WHAT I SEE ABOUT PATIENTS WHO ARE TAKING ALOT OF DRUGS THEY ARE TAKING A DRUG BECAUSE OF ANOTHER DRUGS SYMPTOMS. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH ALL THE MEDS. SOMETIMES IT BETTER TO FIND SOMETHING NATURAL IF YOU CAN. IF YOU CAN EAT HEALTY, AND EXERCISE REGULARY THIS MIGHT HELP YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING. GET TO KNOW WHAT TRIGGERS YOUR ALLERGY AND TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM IT.
Avatar f tn For pollen, dog and cat hair try taking some antihistamine like Zyrtec (works well for me). For the food allergies, you just have to avoid them. Try Googling some gluten-free recipes.
Avatar m tn Hmmm wonder if u have more allergies then u r aware of......mayb a food allergy or something u use daily? I also take an antihistamine daily, b5 bed each night....when the weather makes me worse I take a daily dose that is a non drowsey formula...and for my reflux I take H2 blockers which is a histamine blocker..... I am not a fan of the nasal sprays unless I am completely blocked and then I prefer a saline spray....but prefer not to...lol...
Avatar m tn Hi. Most dog allergies are from food. I would certainly concentrate on that first, before looking at other possibilities. Whatever you have been feeding for the last year may be significant. If it's a canned food, check the ingredients, make a list of them and start finding alternative pet foods (without one or more of the ingredients you've listed).
Avatar f tn Hello, Food allergies can the pits to discover. Instead of using a canned sauce, which can be loaded with chemicals, try making it from scratch with good, organic ingredients, this should help, if not, it could be the tomatoes themselves she is allergic too. You can have allergy tests done through your doctor's recommendation of a good allergist, or, you could see a qualified "naturopathic physician" they specialize in issues like this.
