Avatar f tn Hi all, would really appreciate help with this. I started developing a rash under my arms six weeks ago and it has since spread all over my chest stomach and thighs. The ratchet is not itchy and I've already done a weeks course of allergic reaction tablets and used a cream for fungal infections. It's really beginning to annoy me that I can not get rid of it ! Any info on this would be great!

Avatar f tn Hello, Due to the suddenness of symptoms, the possibility of contact dermatitis or allergic reaction cannot be ruled out. You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. You should choose mild soaps without dyes or perfumes and use a mild, unscented laundry detergent when washing clothes, towels and bedding.

Avatar n tn I am not sure of the effectiveness of the cream, but I believe the antihistamine has eliminated the symptoms, although I had to go to 20 mg per day to get control. My questions are: Why would this reaction occur deeply under the skin of my palms and fingers and nowhere else? Is it really hives? Is there some way to verify the specific trigger, should it not actually be blackberries?

I've put antiseptic cream on my left thumb and I've also been rubbing Aloe (from my aloe plant) on both hands. Today when changing my dressings my left hand started to swell up rapidly. I've been icing it ever since. I've had no fever and the rash has not appeared anywhere else.

Avatar n tn ve had persistent itching in the anal area, especially at night. I saw a GP and she could not diagnose it, just prescribed me some antifungal cream with itch relief. I am able to control it with that and by washing at night with witch hazel. Lately I've also developed a persistent itch in one spot of one of my heels. It is maddening. I don't see any irritation or sore and it is only in one small spot on my heel. It feels a little bit crawly, but mostly just itch.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.
Avatar m tn And he gave me these samples of Dermatop Prednicarbate Emollient cream 0.1%. It was working excellent to stop the growth of rash. However! I ran out. I went back to him a few days ago, and he gave me a prescription for a big tube of Dermatop Prednicarbate Emollient cream 0.1%. While i was there, he burnt off a portion of the rash with liquid nitrogen which did nothing (rash grew back as it heals). After 3 days of healing, I used the Dermatop Prednicarbate Emollient cream 0.
