Avatar f tn I was told it was pupps and was given a prescription for an antihistamine and some cream. The cream burns when I apply it and the antihistamine I am uncomfortable taking as it says not to take the in the 3rd trimester on the information. But without it I get so itchy what do I do?
Avatar m tn I am still experiencing an allergic reaction to intradermal allergy skin testing. I have joint pain in my shoulder on the arm where allergy testing occurred. My skin is warm to the touch over the area tested and the skin marks where injections were done are larger though less raised than after the initial test. What should I do? I have applied a prescription steroid cream. I have taken my normal antihistamine. I have taken benadryl on top of it.
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. If there any of the mentioned medical causes then treating those will reduce the occurence of the condition. http://www.dermatologychannel.net/follicle/folliculitis.shtml Some stubborn cases of folliculitis have been responsive to laser-assisted hair removal.
Avatar n tn Ok the other night I was a tad itchy on my chest no great rash just getting a little itchy so half asleep I thought I was grabbing hydroc. cream and it was menthol rub that I have been using for my hip and leg pain. OMG, it worked great. Just a thought. I have been using it now instead of hydro. cream, cant hurt. The vanishing scent one.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor for my hands and he gave me high powered topical cream and it was after using it for a couple days that the condition appeared on my feet. I cannot take any antihistamine or steroids orally because I am nursing and now have been using steroid cream for over 2 months. The condition will improve with the creams but still won't go away completely. Is there anything else I can try?
258127 tn?1223125240 Is there also a recommended cream for the pain? I seems the more moisture the worse the rash gets... so maybe I need something drying? I am afraid to get it too dry though, as I said, it is already split.
Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
Avatar n tn First you need to stay on antihistamine until it is gone. Benadryl is great stuff. You should see a GP or allergist doctor. You definitely had a reaction to that sting and are still having it. Sounds like the ER ruled out anaphylaxis but you did have Benadryl in you so that I'm not sure about the results. Just stay on antihistamine on schedule to prevent something worst.
Avatar n tn I went back to the doctor straight away and he said it was a rash caused by the Bactroban Cream and he gave me Dovate Cream to apply on the rash area. He said I should use it on my chin as well and that the infection (Cellulitis) has gone and it is just scar tissue. What I would like to know is - Is this a rash from Bactroban Cream as it is not continuos spreading down my chin but a healthy skin layer and then the rash?
Avatar f tn I thought I had a yeast infection I was given medicine by the doctor. I only used the Miconazole Nitrate Cream from Monistat 1 and started feeling extremely aroused in my clitoris to the point where it hurt. The doctor prescribed Monistat 3 the arousal still didn't go away but it wasn't as strong. I took antihistamine (allerergy pills) the arousal went away. It also went away when I didn't think about it (I have an anxiety disorder,so it's hard not to think about it).
Avatar m tn You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Avatar m tn After making sure she has washed all of the detergent off her skin I would suggest applying an ointment such as E45 cream and maybe take an antihistamine to stop the itching. If it doesn't improve quickly she should see her doctor as she may need a prescription cream.I hope your wife is feeling better soon.
Avatar m tn For the rashes, I was prescribed antihistamine (loratidine) and betamethasone cream(cortisteroids). I used the cream for 2 days and then stopped using but continued with taking the antihistamine. At 92 days post exposure, I again got tested for Hiv with Axsym hiv 1 and 2 ag/ab combo assay and it came out negative. My questions are: 1) Should i depend on all the tests that carried out.
Avatar f tn I believe it started maybe 6 months ago. It was a tiny cluster of 4 or 5 blister looking spots little bigger than a pen tip. Thought it was from work and elastic gloves grinding in my wrist. Shortly after it grew to red and about 1" down and covered left to right. It then moved to both wrists. After maybe a month of trying to not agrivate it at work it started to go away. Then it blew up covering both my inner forearms. With either small red spots or raise red blotches all over.
Avatar f tn Use moisturizing CREAM. Ask for a non greasy one. You may need a prescription cream to use at the same time for a bit. And cut your fingernails short and DON'T scratch if you can help it.
Avatar m tn I had the banding procedure done about 6-8 months ago. I went to see a general surgeon 2 weeks ago because I was having rectal pain, discomfort and itching again. He told me I have pruritus ani. I was wondering if i shouldask to have an anoscopy done when I return to see him for a follow-up in two weeks? I would rather have an anoscopy done before him telling me to have a colonoscopy done. Thanks! .
Avatar m tn For the itch take an antihistamine to break the itch/scratch cycle. On the anus itself used a mild steroid cream like Hydrocortisone 0.5% When showering be very sparing with your use of soap down there. Congratulations on getting fit and losing weight.

Avatar m tn Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination.
