Antihistamine cream for rash

Common Questions and Answers about Antihistamine cream for rash

antihistamine

Avatar m tn It's related to changes in your body chemistry caused when it switches to burning fat for energy rather than sugar (glucose) when on a low carb diet. Also may be related to changes in bio-flora (yeast/fungal organism levels) in the body that accompany low carb diets and ketosis. I developed a similar rash after a few weeks on the Atkins diet. Tried some cortisone cream x 2 days but didn't help so I thought it was ringworm (yech!
Avatar f tn I was told it was pupps and was given a prescription for an antihistamine and some cream. The cream burns when I apply it and the antihistamine I am uncomfortable taking as it says not to take the in the 3rd trimester on the information. But without it I get so itchy what do I do?
Avatar m tn For the rashes, I was prescribed antihistamine (loratidine) and betamethasone cream(cortisteroids). I used the cream for 2 days and then stopped using but continued with taking the antihistamine. At 92 days post exposure, I again got tested for Hiv with Axsym hiv 1 and 2 ag/ab combo assay and it came out negative. My questions are: 1) Should i depend on all the tests that carried out.

4461129 tn?1354930630 Just wondering how that rash on your neck is doing. Hope it's going away and that you don't get it again. Did the cortizone cream help?
Avatar m tn You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. You can also apply a mild steroid cream like dermacort. If still the symptoms do not improve then pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Avatar n tn I have found that desitin, baby butt balm, etc for diaper rash really help alleviate these kind of reactions. It's a horrible texture to touch but it helps it heal so much faster!! Now if you're talking about having a reaction to animals, pollen, or something that you ingest- if you get hives you can easily have them all over your body. I once had them on the bottom of my feet in reaction to accidentally drinking a tea with lavender.
7552339 tn?1391962184 It sounds like Shingles. Acyclovir might help. Shingles usually start with a rash and a tingling sensation on the skin. Later one usually gets severe pain under the skin area where the pimples are. You might want to see a doctor about the rash. If it is shingles you will need the anti-viral and possibly some pain meds. It is called Herpes Zoster and comes from having had chicken pox when you were a kid.

Avatar m tn I am a 31 yr old female. For the past few weeks I have had a rash on the folds of my groin area and the inside of my thighs. It comes and goes and I think it is affected by the heat (S. Florida - yuck!). It is red, burning, streaky, and has a sharp odor. When it flares up I use a diaper rash cocoa butter cream at night. It is pretty thick so I suffer during the day if it appears. The lotion helps at times; last night it did not.
Avatar f tn i have what looks like a rash (small pimples) on my chest and behind my ears, when asked my dermatologist she told me it's eczema which i never had growing up and i'm 25. accutane might be the cause of it since i started to notice it a little while after i started taking it. it's does not look like dry/patchy skin but it is sometimes itchy and i've tried everything but nothing seems to work.
Avatar n tn Hello, The description of rashes sounds like dyshidrotic eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
Avatar m tn I was wondering what the cause of a rash on the forearms (that eventually spreads over the arm over 1.5 weeks), followed by peeling tender skin in areas where the rash existed is. Apparently, the peeling skin spreads to the palms, thighs, and torso through contact 4 weeks after the rash was first observed. The rash can be described as small reddish bumps that began in clusters on one arm and were noticed on the other arm a few days later. Began after borrowing gloves for an indoor soccer game.
Avatar n tn I had a little rash that started right in the middle of my neck, and then I found another small rash behind my right ear. Soon, maybe a little less then a week, it moved from those areas to the other side of my neck, at my jawline, and behind my left ear. Then it moved down to the sides of my chest across the tops of my breasts, on the sides of my breasts, and under my breasts. Then recently in the last 48 hours, I found it on my back. I just recently dyed my hair.
Avatar m tn So i have a six month old who starting about a month and a half ago got a rash on her face. i took her to the dr. and he said it was just from drooling. so he had me just put diaper rash cream on it. it just kept getting worse. ended up switching peds and taking her again, this time they told me it was a yeast infection and gave me medication for it. it just kept getting worse. took her back again and this time they said it was seborric dermatitis gave me a new medication.
Avatar n tn I went back to the doctor straight away and he said it was a rash caused by the Bactroban Cream and he gave me Dovate Cream to apply on the rash area. He said I should use it on my chin as well and that the infection (Cellulitis) has gone and it is just scar tissue. What I would like to know is - Is this a rash from Bactroban Cream as it is not continuos spreading down my chin but a healthy skin layer and then the rash?
Avatar f tn You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. Your mother should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. If the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist as topical and oral steroids may be needed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn I have had a rash on and around my vaginal area. It burns and itches and I have had it for two weeks. I have tried over the counter creams and corn starch. The area is raw in some places. I have not had intercourse in over a year. The only thing that I found at home to work was and old perscription for triamcinolone acetonide cream.
Avatar f tn Use moisturizing CREAM. Ask for a non greasy one. You may need a prescription cream to use at the same time for a bit. And cut your fingernails short and DON'T scratch if you can help it.
Avatar n tn I use Benadryl tabs and hydrocortisone cream for the rash and itching on the body. Also a mild lotion to combat dry skin. The benadryl may help your anal itching. Also keeping sqeaky clean helps. Many of us use Huggies baby wipes every time we go. However, if you have hemorrhoids you can also use hemorrhoid cream and hemorrhoid suppositories and they do help. Keep the room temp. low. Resist scratching. Cold packs on a particularly itchy area may help. Hope that helps.
Avatar n tn I have had a rash on the top of my feet for about 4 months now and have been to the doctor multiple times. The rash itches, is a sunburn color of red, has made my skin dry and cracked, and does not spread. I have used athlete foot creams, Ertaczo (sertaconazole nitrate cream, %), and Clobetasol Propionate USP, .05%. I have tried wearing different shoes rule out being allergic to my shoes as well. I don't know what else to try. Please help.
