Avatar f tn I have allergies, dust, hay fever, cat hair ect.... not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time...
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar f tn I have used hydrocortisone cream and antihistamine such as zyrtec and benadryl and had some prednisone on hand and it is the only thing that seems to help. I hope to eradicate the fleas, but in the meantime what can I do to repel them from biting and relieve this itching?
Avatar f tn Has anyone else had a problem like this? Any suggestions on how to deal with my allergies? I have many allergies but things have been fairly bearable until pollen season. Thanks.
Avatar f tn it probably is due to allergies. Since arthitis cream is an anti-inflammatory it helps lowers the symptoms (itchiness) due to the allergic reaction occuring. An antihistamine should help better or as well as the cream.
Avatar m tn My Thyroid has taken on an Itch Allergy now which goes if I put antihistamine cream on my neck where my thyroid is. I also take liquid antihistamine which helps with my throat. I do wonder if there is a correlation between Rapeseed and all these allergies. Rapeseed is grown all year round so for those who suffer all year round is it possible the link is Rapeseed?

Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
Avatar f tn I had retinal detachment surgery last March 2008 and had a scleral buckle and oil procedure. I have allergies and develop a swollen pocket under the eye that had the surgery from time to time. I have shown this to my opthamologist and he doesn't know what is causing this. Do you have any ideas on this situation? Thank you.
Avatar n tn It would help to use some OTC antihistamine or antiallergic medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You could use calamine lotion for local application at the sites of the lesions. Have you had any such reactions in the past? Is there a positive history of allergy in the family? If the symptoms still persist, you should consult your doctor about it and also ask him/her whether you need to see an allergy specialist. Let us know how you are doing and if you have any doubts. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn What medications were given to you? Do you have history of allergies? Antihistamine medications and ice packs may help with the itching. If it persists, it would be best to see your doctor for further evaluation of the rash. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn And it`s only getting bigger. Whats happening? What should i do? And the cream that my mom put on it makes it 2 times bigger.
Avatar m tn Hello, These symptoms can be due to contact dermatitis or allergies. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. Also apply some mild topical steroid cream. If the symptoms are severe then you may need oral steroids. Please consult a dermatologist then. Also keep the skin well moisturized. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn An antihistamine tablet will work for a day or two but then the itching returns. It is not due to dry skin or a food allergy. I have no hot flashes or vaginal dryness though I have had an occasional hot flash when under stress or excess sweating but not on a regular basis. I have non-medicated osteoporosis & recently I did a bone density scan & my density had decreased - it had been stable since the first I had done 8 yrs ago. The last I did was 4 yrs ago.
Avatar n tn old daughter has been getting hives/welts ever since she was a toddler. She has a history of asthma induced allergies. Was tested and found to be allergic to eggs, sweet oranges, cats, barn animals, all trees, and grasses. She now, thinks that she has (outgrown) her asthma and her allergies to eggs and sweet oranges.. Her hives/welts is always present after she has contact with water. No matter the temperature or, be it salt water or non. She had mono. when she was in her 3rd yr. of college.
Avatar m tn yes, allergies can definitely trigger headaches - I suffer from Migraines and if my sinuses or allergies start acting up it will trigger them
Avatar f tn The bumps are slightly raised, and are the size of about half a pencil eraser, maybe a little bit smaller. I have no known allergies. Thank you so much! I'm getting worried!
Avatar n tn I get it even when no socks or stockings or pants are touching it. I have a prescription cortisone cream which my general practictioner doctor said is not the strongest. The cream relieves somewhat but does not cure. I think it flared originally when I started taking antibiotics for sinus infection but my doctor says impossible. The problem persisted even when I was taking prednisone. I also started a new nasal spray, flonase. How do I find out what causes this?
Avatar m tn If you did have a mild allergic reaction to something in the cream, though, try an oral antihistamine and be careful not to drive or operate heavy machinery since that stuff is sedating. Then, don't use the cream again. Usually, my tactics I mentioned for distracting oneself from this kind of annoying flare up really do work. Find something that needs your full attention that you really like to do. It really does help.
1613602 tn?1306199123 For the past two weeks i've had shortness of breath at random times, and i've pinned it at allergies(even though i don't even know what i'm allergic to. I know it's not latex because the only time i've been exposed to latex in the last two weeks was yesterday.) I want to start taking something, and was wondering what the best product I should use is. Any ideas?
