Just to let anyone know I found out from the pharmacy today that taking certain OTC cold and flu pills especially the night time versions contain chlorpheniramine or antihistamine.. Well, tussionex is part hydrocodone which is a semi-synthetic opioid and part chlorpheniramine which is a type of antihistamine. So some people can be more sensitive to the hydrocodone (vicadin) part of the cough syrup. It is a fairly addictive drug and some people have genetics (an enzyme called cpy 2d6) that increases the duration the hydrocodone is elevated in their blood. This leads to exaggerated effects or feeling of euphora and other symptoms.

If you mean Chlor-Trimeton (Chlorpheniramine) then i googled it and found "FDA pregnancy category B. Chlorpheniramine is not expected to harm an unborn baby.

How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
s also been taking two chlorpheniramine antihistamine pills a day, but things seem to be getting worse if anything. He was on Iams large breed dog food for the first couple years of his life, and when the allergies started, we switched him to lamb and rice to see if it was his food, but that didn't help. We've also tried Benadryl with no results. My vet says that there is not much more we can do, but I've read about the yeast pills, and other medications.
not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. Take some over the counter medications like chlorpheniramine or cetrizine for symptomatic relief. Drink plenty of water and fluids. Steam inhalation may provide some relief. If the symptoms are severe or persistent a clinical examination may be necessary. I sincerely hope it helps.

However I do not have a change in diet or environment so what could it be? He gave me hydrocortisone cream 1% and Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4mg. I finished the Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4mg and have some cream left. However I do not see any improvement at all. I have read some people's page saying that it may be bed bugs. Is that possible? If so why do i only get the red patch and boil around the hand areas where I had cat bite and scratches? (The wounds have all healed now.
