Antihistamine and vertigo

Common Questions and Answers about Antihistamine and vertigo

antihistamine

Avatar n tn If it is fluid in your ear, he may give you a prescription for an antihistamine, Meclizine, antibiotics if it is an infection, and possibly a water pill for the fluid. the diarrhea could be caused by a number of things. If it persists, I would see a doctor. Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon.
1415174 tn?1453243103 But, I think there might have been pressure on the ear. She told me to take an antihistamine and I did but I still got it back in 4 months and again in 3 months. I'll definitely look into the ENT. I have a good one in our area.
Avatar f tn Things that help me are reverse ear pops (hold nose and blow and ear will pop, do it several times). Also an antihistamine like Clariton. Pseudophed can help. Chewing gum. When my ear gets that full feeling or I get tinnitus, I do these things and stave off a bout of vertigo which usually comes next. Much vertigo is indeed inner ear related. There is also a nerve back in that direction that can get out of whack. Cervical vertigo is due to a pinched nerve.
363281 tn?1643235611 my ENT taught me reverse ear pops (hold nose and blow, ears will pop. I did it 52,000 a day. Then I took an otc antihistamine (claritan) and briefly an otc product kept behind the counter of the pharmacist because it is used to make other drugs (not because it is dangerous), pseudophedrine. I chewed gum. I got better. There are other reasons for vertigo and one I'm interested in is a nerve that gets aggravated. Anyway, keep us updated.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Eustachian Tube Dysfunction but unsure if this is the correct diagnosis. It has flared up again and I feel so weak and tired. Neck muscles feel tight and into my arms. Having difficulty sleeping too. Has anyone had similar symptoms and got a diagnosis or suggest anything that will help?
Avatar f tn I am going quite mental (yeah yeah, I know, what do I mean "Going"?? HA) with this vertigo and balance issue. My neuro says it's a mix of MS and atypical migraines. All he has offered me is Isoptin (verapemil) as a migraine preventer. He;s supposed to be the best neuro in town but he doesn't even test my balance (whinge moan). Anyway, was wondering two things: Is there a drug for vertigo caused by lesions on the cerebellum? Are there any tricks to dealing with it?
Avatar m tn Yep drinking and late night were my thing till I had a melt down. Late nights are still my thing but not drinking. My therapist told me that alcohol actually cancels out the effects of antidepressant meds so I'm guessing the drinking makes it like your not even taking an antidepressant. I just want this vertigo crap to go away.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn An ear, nose and throat specialist saw no infection in my outer ear. He did prescribe a decongestant and antihistamine. Sometimes, the foods I eat causes my constant ear ringing to become worse and my sinuses to become dry. My left ear feels plugged. Any idea on the cause?. My left ear ringing and feeling of fullness are constant. I cannot use nose sprays because I have glaucoma. The vertigo last for about four hours and subsides when I take medication, yet after it, I have diarrhea and gas.
Avatar f tn I'm writing this in behalf of my mother. About a year ago she was diagnosed with vertigo, after suffering severe dizziness and headache. They put her on meds, I'm not sure which ones. She also had a stomach pain problem whenever she got it. Just yesterday, she was taken to the hospital again, had blood tests and a ct scan done on her, their answers were really vague, they say it's just vertigo and they don't see anything else wrong.
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
Avatar f tn The meclizine is an antihistamine that may help you. Dizziness is often temporary, and a medicine like that can help you get through it. It may cause sleepiness. You can also take something like Advil for what sounds like body ache.
Avatar f tn No, I'm not hypertensive. I see a neurologist for the 4th time tomorrow and will tell him all my symptoms again. Because I know it's something more than vertigo. Because my back and neck hurt that's why I was thinking maybe a herniated disc. Because that can cause vertigo and a Xray wouldn't show that I would need a MRI on my back.
1754225 tn?1312329280 My ENT gave me antihistamine tablet for my dizzy..i still not feeling well..I had MRI done on my head and neck x-ray..all seems fine.I dunno what is wrong with my inner ear..Drs told me its postural vertigo. Are there any supplement to help relieve this dizzy? Please help me....
Avatar f tn Thanks for such a quick response, and thanks for the prayer. I haven't tried antihistamines. I took one Ibuprofin for the headache this morning but it doesn't seem to work and I am not known for popping pills if I don't have to. I will try an antihistamine tonight and see if it goes away. Thanks for being so kind :). I will update on any other symptoms should they occur. Thanks again!
Avatar n tn i did have to hold my nose and pop my ears too or else i would lose my balance and lose my focus. i ended up having vertigo. i tried different kinds of drops and the only one that really worked on me is Debrox. it takes a while to absorb it and just be patient. i don't have vertigo, sinus problem and my hearing is good too. i've been to 11 doctors including 2 ENTs. the last ENT advised me not to use Debrox and he also advised me to use hearing aid. let us know if the drop helps.
Avatar f tn My body temperature has gone down to between 96 F & 97.3F since I've been on blood pressure meds. My normal body temp had always been 98.5F unless I was ill. Now I don't know what my normal body temp is anymore? Also I've had a severe bout of Vertigo approx. 3 wks ago with nausea & vomitting & feeling really weak and unsteady on my feet. Dr.
Avatar f tn My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.
Avatar f tn I personally take a claritin everyday. I have seasonal allergies and pet dander makes my eyes and face really itchy. My Dr OKed it and said its totally safe. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn (YET) but I had Vertigo about 2 months ago and what you described sounds very much like what I was going through. I would call the doctor just to have it checked out. Better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck to you!!!
4696380 tn?1359307042 Hi there, Dizziness and vertigo are quite common for many conditions, both are sx's of MS, though i wouldn't say its particularly common. I did find a couple of quotes from reliable sources, that you might like to read.... "Dizziness is a common symptom of MS. People with MS may feel off balance or lightheaded. Much less often, they have the sensation that they or their surroundings are spinning -- a condition known as vertigo.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
Avatar n tn 38yo male with diagnosed hearing loss on right side. I workout often, no high blood pressure etc. In middle 2017 I had what I now know as a vertigo episode. It put me on the floor it was so bad. I had another one a few months later. This was summertime, so no true infection or anything that showed up. I consistently have ear pressure (fullness) that never seems to go away, it's always faint. I have had tempanogram and hearing tests, which showed hearing loss.
351404 tn?1299489130 Had an eczema with itching outbreak on forehead area and took a Benadryl antihistamine pill. Fine for 24 hours, then took another and that night had a three hour AFib episode. I remember about 20 years ago, I last took an antihistamine and got flutters. Is there a connection between AFib and antihistamine, ie have others an opinion or experience of this?
