Avatar m tn 2nd question is after stopping the intake of antihistamine that effect the prostate, woiuld these be a short term effect and the prostate goes back to how it was? or does it remain in the worser condition? here's what i found about the Seldane: "Seldane was approved by the FDA in 1985 as the first prescription antihistamine" "After Seldane was approved, the FDA began receiving reports of fatal and serious instances of cardiac arrhythmias.
565430 tn?1272695820 Hi rello.. it could be the antihistamine.. it gives me the jitters.. from everything I have read about those you should not take it for more then 3 weeks without a break. a lil vics would help with the sinuses.. as for sleep maybe a nice warm bath and good book with some sleepy-time tea.. Congrats on 557 days !!
666921 tn?1254990618 I agree with Patsy about asking doctor - just wanted to pass this info. on - antihistamine supressess the allergic reaction - so though I read it on another forum - it still makes sense to me to try to avoid taking it - anyway asking the doc. about any 'drugs' is always a good idea.
Avatar n tn Google brand name antihistamines and read the warnings. Wow, all of them that I googled had warnings about prostate problems, urinary problems or BPH. Even nasal sprays and Visine A. Whats a fella my age to do? I try not to take them because the urinary probs are quite problematic. I will be so glad when the hay fever season has passed.
Avatar n tn Hello, I don't know if you ever found the answer for this but for anyone coming across this desloratadine could potentially be problematic for pregnancy. There have been animal studies showing it can be harmful to the fetus and could potentially influence the mother to be not as fit to bear the child. There haven't been any human studies done but this is warned against. Reference: https://www.drugs.com/pregnancy/desloratadine.
Avatar m tn This concerns me greatly. The prostate is the only thing I can think of that intersects the colon and urethra. So, finally, my questions: How long would it take for chlamydia to enter the prostate? Is 1.5 months enough time? What would that feel like (I have no further symptoms)? Would my prostate actually 'tingle'? How common is chlamydial prostititus? If chlamydia is in there, is it sexually contageous? Am I forever poisonous? Can I have kids?
Avatar f tn Is there a connection To my uretha and anus beside the prostate. I just want the itching to stop. Also when I sit down I kind of feel a pressure of air or something shooting through my penis.
Avatar f tn My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.
Avatar f tn I personally take a claritin everyday. I have seasonal allergies and pet dander makes my eyes and face really itchy. My Dr OKed it and said its totally safe. Hope this helps.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
351404 tn?1299489130 Had an eczema with itching outbreak on forehead area and took a Benadryl antihistamine pill. Fine for 24 hours, then took another and that night had a three hour AFib episode. I remember about 20 years ago, I last took an antihistamine and got flutters. Is there a connection between AFib and antihistamine, ie have others an opinion or experience of this?
Avatar f tn I have burning sensation after ejaculation and urination. I also have a discomfort in the testes. Someone told me that it could be a UTI, others told me chlamydia and some people went out stating that it could be Herpes. Is there a way to the differences.
Avatar n tn I had a Henia last year 2007 this pinched my bladder but gave the symptoms of a Urine Infection, I saw another Urologist who gave me the finger in the rectum examination, between the exam and blood tests the Urologist told me I had the prostate of a 35 year old and had just a 5% chance of ever getting prostate cancer. So there you have it, I can see no problem in frequent masturbation and yes it may help your problem. Good Luck.
Avatar f tn It's not Swiss oaks, it's Swiss oats. The main ingredient is green oats, which is well known for increasing testosterone and for relaxing and regulating the nervous system. It also contains nettles, though I don't really know why. This is usually used, again, to help the male organs, particularly the prostate, and as an antihistamine. It's high in minerals, but hard to see how it would do anything for depression, but it couldn't hurt.
Avatar f tn I would get another opinion from a different vet ASAP. I am not trying to scare you, but bleeding from the penis very strongly indicates prostate cancer, and especially since multiple courses of antibiotic have proven to be ineffective in stopping the problem. Has your vet done a biopsy yet to rule out prostate cancer? A biopsy of the rectal wall can tell if there are cancer cells present.
Avatar m tn Found the title - "Invasion of the Prostate Snatchers: No More Unnecessary Biopsies, Radical Treatment or Loss of Sexual Potency"
Avatar n tn If there is no trace of cancer in the lymph nodes(after prostate was removed) then how long does the cancer residue remains stay in the prostate area( before they spread to some other place) if the margins were positive? In other words; how long should you wait before seeking adjuvant therapy?
Avatar n tn The infective organisms may be located only within the prostate and/or kidney and come into the urethra during ejaculation. If they are not flushed away by urine, they would continue to be present in the urethra and try to grow there causing irritation and pain. As the pain is intense at the end of urination the infection could be within the bladder or the prostate. You will need to have a urinalysis done, preferably from a sample collected just after ejaculation.

Avatar f tn I am not a doctor and do of a prostate not claim to know more then a doctor but I have researched the prostate and all the problems of a prostate for the last 6 years and researched ways of prostate detection ... The way I see it is this is my body and if a biopsy scares me to haave it done then other procedures should be insituted instead of saying biopsy is the only way ....
Avatar n tn You should try steam inhalation, warm saline gargles, saline nasal drops and oral antihistamine medications and see if it helps with your symptoms. If you have symptoms of reflux, you should try some antireflux, antinausea medications. The cough could be if you are a chronic smoker. If the cough still persists, it would be best to consult your doctor and also get a chest xray done to rule out a chest infection.
1399363 tn?1462342610 I would check with your physician, and pharmacist because I think there now may be compounds available with give the desired effect without the side effects. You could also address the tachycardia issue and eliminate that which would allow you to take any antihistamines with experiencing the side effects.
Avatar f tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn Also it takes a long time to liquify ( according to the urologist I saw ) I had an ultrasound. They said I had an enlarged prostate, prostate stones and also I had a small cyst in one of my ducts. My prostate fluid has white blood cells in it ( +4 ). But firstly, to rule out chlamydia. My gut feeling is chlamydia is still somewhere in my system. Is this possible? If my prostate fluid is tested and comes back negative, this definitely rules this out?
Avatar n tn If your dog is neutered, it will stop the levels of testosterone, which could cause prostate swelling and prostate cancer too. It would take a while to max. effect because he'd still have SOME testosterone in his system for a bit. But it would be a quicker option than medication. But it would be a good option only if he's generally in good fitness and condition for his age. The anaesthetic might stress him if he has heart or lung problems, or some other health problem.
