Antihistamine and rapid heart rate

Common Questions and Answers about Antihistamine and rapid heart rate

antihistamine

Avatar f tn From my personal experience, taking an over the counter antihistamine (non-drowsy) contains enough ephedrine to increase heart rate. Consuming any caffeine (coffee, energy drinks, etc.) will also cause this effect.
Avatar m tn I went to ER AND THE PRESCIBED ME SOME ATIVAN, tHE HEART RATE IS STILL HIGH, Have an appointment today. I am currently on 10 day hydrocodone withdrawl. Any insight out there. would love some input.
Avatar n tn I've had five cycles of chemo and have started to have a rapid heart rate- has anyone experienced this during chemo? I am getting carbo, taxel and etoposide.
Avatar n tn Each time I stayed in sinus rhythm but the heart rate went up to 126 at the highest, and this was while I was on a calcium channel blocker, diltiazem, started by the internist who caught the rapid heart rate. The cardiologist switched me to verapamil and so far I haven't had any more episodes. I have kept track of my heart rate and BP for the last two months to see if there was a trend and because I'm trained as a scientist and we thrive on data!
Avatar n tn Then today I was at the gym and did my normal run and my heart rate was around 132bpm, however a couple of minutes after stepping off the machine I could feel my heart racing - my heart rate monitor showed it rose very quickly to 170bpm. Normally I'm in very good control of my heart rate but this time I couldn't slow it down.

Avatar f tn t see any other symptoms listed, but panic attacks come out of the blue and can leave you foggy headed, out of breath, shaky and tingling extremeties... and coffee can trigger them. Panic attacks can last anywhere from a few seconds to an hour. Also, what RNRita says is common too, if you are sitting in one position too long it can cause in some people blood pressure changes that can cause a lot of the same symptoms. I agree talk to your doctor. Hope all goes well.
Avatar f tn Record your heart rate during one of the sleeping episodes and post it on this site and you should be advise.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed w/SVT 3 years ago. I would end up in the ER with a heart rate of 215 but would restart my heart with adenocin.I quit smoking also 3 years ago as well. I go to an arrithymia specialist and you might want to go to one as well. I was put on Lopressor to slow my heart rate down and honestly i like how the medication works, no side effects. I've had my heart ablated twice and now has since had a pacemaker and and had my AV node ablated.
1148619 tn?1332010984 I am doing triple, with Victrelis and I noticed in about a half hour of taking my Victrelis pills my heart rate goes up to where it beats rather fast and hard. Last about 15 min. Then goes away and can come back one or two times before next dose. Anyone else have this issue and its not every day. I would have called a local doctor, (my clinic I go to out of town takes about 4 days to return calls), on Friday but I felt fine that day now today I wish I would have.
9768750 tn?1406394610 I'm 17 weeks pregnant and my heart rate has gone up to 165 beats per minute, I went to the emergency room and the doctor said it's normal during pregnancy. Has anyone else had this happen to them and if so how do you deal with it? It's scary!
Avatar n tn I'm 49, had surgery two years ago removing scar tissue caused by a hystorectomy 13 years ago. They also removed both overies. I immediatly started having hot flashes after the surgery, and memopause kicked in without ever having symptons before the surgery. I recently noticed my heart rate is increased which is been happening now for serveral weeks. More so durning a hot flash.
Avatar f tn I am 35 and I have been experiencing a rapid heart rate after I eat. I also get a warm sensation in my stomach and I feel like I have to go to sleep immediately after I eat. My heart begins to race and while I'm sleeping my arm goes numb...it is not "prickly" like it is asleep it is just numb. When I get up and walk around after I wake up the numbness goes away. I just feel terrible after I eat. Otherwise, I feel fine. What could be causing this?????
Avatar f tn I think it is good your heart rate can go down to the 70s without any medication. My heart rate has never gone down to the 70s until recently, and that is only because I'm now on beta blockers. I know from experience your heart will not give out because it is racing over 100 bpm, but go to a doctor ASAP.
9768750 tn?1406394610 I'm 17 weeks pregnant and my resting heart rate has gone up to 165 beats per minute, I went to the emergency room and the doctor said it's normal during pregnancy. Has anyone else had this happen to them and if so how do you deal with it? It's scary!
Avatar f tn It does change when you stand. It does change when you move about. Constantly checking your heart rate when you have no reason to suspect you have a problem might be a problem, though. Also, those devices like Fit Bit aren't loved by cardiovascular specialists. They can be wrong. They can be used incorrectly. You might just once check your pulse with your fingers the old fashioned way.
Avatar f tn Oh yes, I firmly believe that hormonal changes can cause your heart to go off. When I hit my early 50s, my PVCs and PACs got really bad and I had an episode of SVT that sent me to the ER. They had to give me adenosine to stop it. I have had minor episodes since I was in my 20s but they always stopped on their own and were related to some stressful event. But premenopause and menopause really kicked them off big time.
Avatar n tn I think that you should make a call to your Dr to get the ball rolling on confirming a diagnosis to this rapid heart rate. Please give us an update so that we know how you are making out with this.
Avatar n tn This past weekend, my heart rate was extremely rapid, so much so that I went to the emergency room. They put me on a monitor, but by the time I got to the E.R., the rate had gone down to almost normal. When I left, it was 70. The rapid rate lasted about 45 minutes. I just wanted to know the danger in having such a rapid beat, so fast I couldn't clock it. It was scary. Is this a sign of a heart attack in progress? I had no pain, no shortness of breath, no other signs.
Avatar m tn I take a medication to lower my heart rate. However, it would be preferred to lower heart rate through exercise, as side effects of mediation I do not care for. Also, continual stress may raise heart rate (Type A personality). May learn some relaxation techniques. Even though I do take medication for heart rate, I am able to exercise in the heart zones, and have seen improvement in my blood pressure. Some improvement in HR. Acutally, lately, sometimes my BP is low now.
Avatar m tn my baby has rapid heart rate since she was weeks old.. now she's 9 mos old. what may be the cause?
Avatar m tn s response to positional changes can vary from hour to hour and day to day. In fact, I would think that no reponse, ie. increased heart rate from gross positional changes in you body would be a problem. Sounds normal to me.
