Avatar f tn I have owned and rode horses all my life. I am having difficulty coping with not being able to ride because ppl told me I cant. Is it seriously that big a deal to ride? I don't want to hurt my baby, but it's literally the only thing I have done for myself and can't deal with giving it up for so long...

1365668 tn?1277946866 I know that jumping and running is definitely not OK while pregnant. A baby is protected by the fluid and the pubic bone until about the 12-14th week and then it is just the fluid. I would think that you would not want to push the luck while pregnant. I am sure that some women can go and ride horses (like your mom) and have no problems but it isn't a guarantee that nothing will happen with your beanie. I am sure most doctor's will advise against it too.
Avatar f tn My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.
Avatar f tn I personally take a claritin everyday. I have seasonal allergies and pet dander makes my eyes and face really itchy. My Dr OKed it and said its totally safe. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn The most likely triggers for acute urticaria are allergies to pets, horses, latex and foods, such as shellfish and nuts, bee or wasp stings, allergies to medicines,Viral infections, such as glandular fever and herpes, dental and sinus infections, fungal infections, blood transfusions and vaccines. In your case the bee sting can be responsible for these hives. The mainstay of treatment of hives is antihistamine which may be necessary for prolonged periods (in excess of 6 weeks).

You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. 612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.

Avatar f tn You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. If the symptoms persist then you may need topical or oral steroids for which you have to consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

7642836 tn?1410611040 this is more difficult to explain than it should be, but whenever I feel one starting, I immediately stretch my feet so that they are flat and my toes are pointing upward and a little toward my body and my heels are sticking out furthest. it stops the cramp immediately. I hope that made sense...
Avatar n tn Doesn't matter if you're taking your prenatals and drinking juice, you can still get them if you're low on potassium and such. Try eating foods with more potassium and drinking more water.
