antihistamine

Avatar f tn Since December I have had a really dry tickly cough. It happens every couple of hours around the clock and keeps me up for hours every night. It always starts with a tickly throat and then proceeds to a cough that makes my throat even worse. I've been to see my GP countless times since it began and have been prescribed antibiotics, steroid nasal spray, throat spray, inhalers, antacid tablets and have even had an x-ray, all of which have failed to work or diagnose a problem.
Avatar n tn Hello! When I was treating I found relief in Aveeno bath and body oil (wash with warm -not hot- water and pat dry) as well as colloidal oatmeal when I was really desperate. If your itching is driving you mad at night, 25 mg of benedryl or 1 mg of chlorophineramine may help too. If you have the "leather tongue" or dry mouth at night, I found the mouth moisturizing gel by Oragel (it has a glycerine base so it lasts for hours) worked well too...
Avatar f tn I use Biotene products and they help somewhat. I get mouth ulcers from having a dry mouth and using Symbicort. Maalox/liquid Benadryl eases the pain, but doesn't prevent the mouth ulcers. I also get repeated thrush infections despite brushing and rinsing everytime I use Symbicort. I'm sure it has to do with dry mouth. I hope someone has a good solution, as I haven't found anything useful and I'm getting really, really tired of mouth ulcers and thrush.
Avatar n tn Spiriva (titropium) is a inhaled antihistamine indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Antihistamines frequently cause dry mouth and dry sinuses (benadryl is an antihistamine). The side effect is not considered serious, but you should call your physician if it continues. A saline nasal spray can moisturize the sinuses and possibly reduce the symptoms.
Avatar f tn If ENT can not find the source of halitosis, you may need to see an oral medicine specialist.
Avatar n tn Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g.

Avatar f tn On my fingers and toes the places that itch are dry and grow calluses. My toes are the worst, they are very dry and the calluses are spreading to under and over the second toes. The dryness has spread o all of my toes. The first thought is of course athlete’s foot or another fungus...but why then do I have the same issue on my hands, belly button, mouth and scalp?

Avatar n tn I have night time, usually only when lying down, congestion that causes me to suffer a very sore dry mouth from breathing through my mouth. I don't believe I make any unusual noises, my wife has not complained other then when I snore - which is a rare event. For starters you might try with your husband taking an antihistamine at bed time to see if anything changes. If it does congestion may be the problem.
3093770 tn?1389739126 First, I had a dry nose and mouth throughout the entire 48 weeks and also for a month and a half after finishing Tx. At times my mouth was so dry I could not swallow, especially at night. My nose was also dry and crusty inside. Disgusting. Hope you are not eating, LOL. I measured my water and, in order to get the 1 gallon a day (4 liters), I was constantly drinking, day and night. Even without the measuring, I would have been drinking because my mouth was parched and I could not swallow.

233488 tn?1310693103 Omega 3 helps dry skin, dry mouth and dry hair. This also often takes 3-6 months to get maximum benefit and needs to be continued. Important to understand NO IMPROVEMENT MAY OCCUR FOR 4-6 MONTHS. Both Restasis and Omega 3 are normally taken for life. A recent study stating fish oil increased risk of prostate cancer in men is wrong. Omega 3 does NOT increase the risk of prostate cancer *See Missouri Medicine medical journal July/August 2013.
Avatar f tn My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.
Avatar f tn I am only 18, and I have never had any dry eye problems before I started having insomnia and taking antihistamines.
Avatar m tn I have been everywhere on the web and here and nothing seems to fit, until i did some research and saw that dry mouth is sympotmatic of diabetes. Can anyone shed some light? Its more of an inconvenience than anything else. I can still swallow, doesnt affect taste, throat isnt sore, sleeping is not a problem. I should also mention this doesnt happen everytime and its also varies in dryness. I am going to be changing from a GP to Internest within the next couple of months.

Avatar f tn Then I started oil pulling bc I looked up dry mouth and throat and some pretty weird things came up. Like sorts of gum disease. Oil pulling helps kill and pull all the toxins out of your mouth. I'm much better now. Still a little dry but I can sleep. Then about my hip (left side) I started stretching (the best I could lol) and made sure I had lots and lots of back, belly and leg support which really helped. I hope you feel better and Congratulations!!!
