Antibiotics weight gain

Common Questions and Answers about Antibiotics weight gain

antibiotics

Avatar n tn and once I have completed the antibiotics is there a chance of losing the weight? or at least stopping the weight gain. Aside from the vanity point of losing the weight I am sure it makes the arthritis and numbness worse to be carrying around 40 - 50 extra pounds. I simply don't know how to fix this problem, as crazy as that sounds.
Avatar m tn Sorry don't know if I am in the right place but had a few questions. My problem is that I can't gain weight like I used too. I been on a lot of antibiotics last month. I must have taken them for almost a months worth but anyway I been off of it for about a month now and ever since then I am having trouble gaining weight. Is this normal? Did anyone ever have this happen to them before?
Avatar f tn The cancer steroids causes some effects like weight and so on but itis not mandatory that weight gain will happen, it may or may not happen depending upon your body.
17990279 tn?1462122394 He told me that if I start to have the side effect of weight gain, that I could include welbutrin, which would counteract that side effect. Is that possible??? And if so, how would that work????
9624973 tn?1413016130 I had a similar situation a couple of months ago when I needed to take Amoxicillin to avoid some infections after dental surgery (required because I have a neck surgery that could also see infection after dental surgery). I literally gained 20lbs in 2 weeks after I took it. The good news is, my AST & ALT did not flare up so I was ok.... but I'm almost certain the antibiotics caused some fatty liver and caused me to gain weight when I was on the track losing it.
Avatar m tn even when i try to eat junk foods and do nothing but sit all day, there is no weight gain. i remember during my childhood, i was never look after properly and i ingested many edibles that were thrown on the ground such as chewed gums, chips, biscuits, etc.i am looking at this possibility that my stomach and intestines have too much bacteria, worms, and other parasites that are robbing off all of the nutrients before my digestive system can even circulates it to my cells.
Avatar m tn It's not necessarily antibiotics. A woman can have a late period due to many different reasons, including stress, illness, pregnancy, or even weight gain or loss. If she's recently been ill, that could be why. And being sick also causes stress. If she continues to have irregular periods, she should probably go get checked out by her doctor just to be safe.
Avatar f tn For your weight gain in spite of adequate exercise I can think of three possibilities. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, where in due to hormonal irregularities the person has symptoms of irregular menstruation, weight gain, insulin resistance (diabetes) and excess androgenic activity causing facial hair. Again symptoms of weight gain could all be the side effects of certain medications.
Avatar n tn It is called MAX and is made to help you gain weight quickly. There are an entire days worth of calories in one serving, however I have to break it up into smaller servings because it is too thick to drink at once. You can find it in most health food stores like GNC. I'm not sure where you are from, so I don't know what kind of stores you have near you. I also have a lot of trouble passing stools as well. My suggestions would be more fiber of course, and more water.
Avatar f tn ) Other reasons women are late are changes in routine, weight gain or loss, stress or just a blip on the hormonal radar. Every woman is late at one time or another.
345079 tn?1299202476 I also looked up side effects of the antibiotic Suprax and it doesnt list weight gain, or night sweats. I had a hysterectomy 1.5 years ago but kept both of my ovaries. Any ideas?????
Avatar f tn Look up weight gain according to BMI and it will give you a good idea on the amount of weight you should gain according to your body type.

Avatar m tn The antibiotic course really hurt me I suffer from many oral problems like hairy tongue and dry mouth but both of them are becoming better without any medication and my doctor assured me that it’s very normal to have oral problems after having strong dose of antibiotics for a long period of time. When do you guys think I will start to gain weight again? I am over weight but I just want to gain some kilos to feel comfortable about my health.
Avatar f tn You won't gain weight until later...
Avatar n tn t consistent with fluid retention, but what else would cause the weight gain? These are perflexing questions causing me a great deal of frustration. Any help before I return to the Gastroenteroligist would be appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Of course you'll gain weight.
Avatar f tn Aww don't worry. In my experience, weight gain tends to stall at the end.
Avatar n tn You gain the most weight in the last 8 weeks. So you might barely gain now, and then pack it on fast toward the end which is normal.
Avatar f tn I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'm 36weeks pregnant and since my last doctors appointment I haven't gained any weight. I didn't gain weight in the 1st trimester due 2 sickness, but in the 3rd I've been pretty steady with my weight gain...at the very least a poun a week. And now it's been almost 2 weeks and still no weight gain. Could that mean anything? Or is it just normal? Thanks in advance!
1972798 tn?1355549267 So my dr says my weight gain is fine. He said 1 pound per week along I am.. So I am 32 weeks and I have gained 31 lbs... Does that sound like a lot?!? What has everyone else gained? Or is that a horrible question to ask everyone?
