I haven't used coconut oil for a uti but its great for its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal properties. Same with olive leaf extract.
I don't know personally about the new antibiotics used for UTIs but they do seem to have certain ones now that are more effective than standard antibiotics for treatment. Here is a link that I found that might explain further:

Definitely take the antibiotics. Uti is something that needs antibiotics to cure and if it goes untreated then can develop into a kidney problem which in some cases can cause early labour. Much safer to take the meds. I've been on the same antibiotics twice during this pregnancy and am now 36+ weeks and baby is perfectly healthy.
I recently got put on IV antibiotics for a pretty bad UTI. What my doctor did was to arrange for a pharmacy to deliver the meds to my house, and the pharmacy arranged for a home nurse to come by and administer it. It's not fun having that tube in your arm all week, but after the first day, I was able to administer my own treatments (and I'm normally terrified of needles and IVs).

I was told I had a uti 2 weeks ago and was put on antibiotics for 7 days due to cloudy urine and now it's back to normal. Antibiotics was safe and no harm to my daughter. Get tested by your ob asap cause a uti can cause premature labor.
ve also treated me for a UTI. This past time they went ahead and prescribed my antibiotics for the duration of my pregnancy since I've been getting them back to back. They don't seem worry and just say it's common and due to the extra fluids in my body and hormonal and changes and chemical imbalances. I wouldn't be worried unless your doctor is :) BTW I'm 32weeks 5days.
Dealing with a horrible UTI after wrapping up a course of antibiotics for bronchitis. But I dont qualify for bed rest?!?!? Feeling frustrated. Anyone have any UTI tips? Was in such pain Monday and Sunday it hurt to walk. Felt exhausted but not in pain Tuesday. Wednesday was an ok day. Thursday was amazing..... until 3pm and now I feel just as bad as Sunday.... like it came back. Would appreciate any prevention ideas or any feedback .... Medicines to request .... Thanks in advance!
Yeah you would wanna clear that up before its time to deliver. I also had a UTI and the antibiotics gave me an yeast infection so she gave me something for that as well it was only one tablet. Good luck!
Saw a doc bur did not disclose panties issue. They checked to uti with urine same. Camw back neg and sent off for longer testing and possibly std check, dont remember specificallt. Got negative results for infection yesterday. Still discomfort though, they said wait a week. Now wife has uti symtoms.... Pain with urination. BUT she has had bladder problems since giving birth 6 weeks ago. Had uti infection after birth. Still no std worries from panties????
I'm 10 weeks and I have a UTI. ER doctor prescribed me Macrobid 100mg BID for ten days. Have any one taken this while pregnant? I googled it, and there were a lot of horror stories......just curious to see if others have taken, and there pregnancy remained normal...
Yea they put me on it for a while for a uti. I'm resistant to it, but other than that its totally safe for pregnant women.
The antibiotics are safe and used in pregnancy all the time. It is totally ok. I had UTI BV and yeast all at once and antibiotics cleared it up. You are ok but it is more dangerous not to treat than to take the meds.
I would imagine that the yeasty discharge could result in some improper wiping which could lead to a UTI but otherwise, no. They are different. And medication (antibiotics) used for an UTI can result in a yeast infection.

When I had a UTI i wanted like some heavy antibiotics to get rid of that ****. I would definitely suggest seeing a regular doctor and getting antibiotics. You will feel 100X better also drink a lot of fluids, a lot people suggest cranberry juice which is good, but regular old water helps to dilute your urine better.
I had a uti last week and I had no sysmptoms really and I the took the full course of antibiotics and its back and yet again no symptoms. When I go down the doctors they say I have slight blood in my urine and white blood cells. I'm not bleeding. Does anyone know what can course a reaccuring uti all the time or could it be something else? I'm worried there's something going on that could harm the baby.
I really need help! I'm 21 yo and I've had a UTI for a month or even longer. I've taken AZO pills. I've been drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice and nothing is helping me get rid of it. I had that too due to antibiotics. My doctor said to me its best to finish of the antibiotics for the treatment of uti first and only AFTER that treat the yeast infection cuz it wouldnt go away othrwise. Bt u cud still use the cream for the itch while ur on the antibiotic. I did as the doctor said and i was given a 3 day treatment for the yeast infection. But it wudnt go away just got worse so I went back to doctor and she gave me a weeks supply of the treatment and finally im now yeast free!!
