Common Questions and Answers about Antibiotics pregnancy urinary tract infection

antibiotics

Avatar n tn You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics. If your dog has crystals in his urine, the crystals would need to be identified and treatment instituted. Crystals can be dangerous in male dogs because if they become large enough they can become lodged in the urethra and cause blockage (even in dogs, though more common in male cats).
Avatar f tn My doc/midwife just diagnosed me with a urinary tract infection :( and now I'm a little worried about pre-term labor, i guess my question would be has anyone been diagnosed with same thing, if so what was your experience?
Avatar f tn It sounds more like a urinary tract infection. Please see your doctor for diagnosis and antibiotics (we are not able to recommend dosing of products here and you need a prescription for proper antibiotics to treat a UTI).
Avatar n tn There is nothing you can really do about the urinary tract infection except take the antibiotics. They may want you to take a stronger antibiotic (prescribed by your doctor) but being pregnant makes us more probable to have urinary tract infections. It doesn't become a problem unless you ignore it.
Avatar n tn It could be a urinary tract infection - those are really common during pregnancy. Your doc can schedule a urine test to check for that, and prescribe antibiotics that are safe to take while pregnant.
Avatar f tn Had a call from my midwife today to let me know the results of my urine test and they show I have a urinary tract infection (UTI). I've had no symptoms but she said I need some antibiotics. Has this happened to anyone else, should I be worried?
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, yes, kidney infection can be related to the pyelonephritis. Urinary tract infection can be due to infection involving any part from kidney to urethra. Infection may be pyelonephritis (involving upper urinary tract), urethritis, uretitis, cystitis (lower urinary tract) etc. Presence of Anatomic abnormalities resulting in obstruction, stasis, or reflux of urinary flow all predisposes towards recurrent urinary infections.
4251679 tn?1370305531 UTIs are exactly what their name describes. and infection in your urinary tract. its not in your vagina, however, ive always been told not to have sex while you have one because sex could be the cause of it. and its best to make sure its all better before introducing even more bacteria. Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.
Avatar f tn Has anyone got a urinary tract infection during pregnancy? Was it uncomfortable and a little painful at times? once treated did the uncomfortablness go away? I think I have one I have a drs appt in 4 days is it safe to wait until then?
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a urinary tract infection Or cystitis during treatment. I had one four weeks ago that responded to antibiotics from the trial nurse. I am 20 weeks into the Gilead 5881 and 9541 trial with SOC. But three weeks later it came back and did not respond to the same antibiotics. Now I have to wait for the antibiotics to leave my system and get a culture done. Another four to five days of discomfort.
Avatar n tn I've finished my bactrim for my urinary tract infection, so why do I still have the burning when I urinate?

Avatar m tn Patients experiencing upper urinary tract infection, or pyelonephritis, may experience flank pain/costovertebral angle tenderness, fever, and/or nausea and vomiting in addition to symptoms of lower urinary tract infection.

715068 tn?1392933532 Does anyone know if antibiotics or other medications can affect the results of an HPT? I am currently taking 2 antibiotics and a med. to numb the urinary tract due to an infection. All medications are "okay" to take while preg. but just curious if they could affect test results.
Avatar f tn Its just the start of a urinary tract infection so whatever antibiotics your doctor prescribed shouldn't be an issue since women during pregnancy are more susceptible to UTI's. I know there are some meds you shouldn't take for UTI's while pregnant but I doubt your doctor would prescribe that. If you are ever worried about taking a medicine in pregnancy you can go to rxlist.com and look it up.
Avatar f tn It's probably just a urinary tract infection. Very common. Antibiotics will clear it up in no time. Relax. Getting worked up about it isn't going to solve anything.
Avatar f tn I had an Urinary Tract Infection on my second trimester and I didn't felt any symptoms except that you are able to see the change in color of your Urine. If he prescribed you antibiotics drink them.
Avatar f tn Sounds kinda like a urinary tract infection. You might need to take antibiotics to get rid of it.
