Avatar f tn Just found out I am pregnant with second baby, so no acne yet. However had experience with acne during my first pregnancy. I was not able to find a product that worked for me during pregnancy but I started using a toner after (it was so much worse after I'm sorry to say!) And that helped. You could try that maybe.
Avatar f tn Check with your doctor or pharmacist before you use an acne medican not all ate safe over pregnancy and if possible to wait till the 3rd trimester the better....mine did not get better at all. But once I had the baby it almost immediately started to clear up.

546892 tn?1214525401 Isotretinoin is a type of medication used to treat severe acne (nodlo cystic or nodular acne) which have failed to respond to other treatments including any type of oral antibiotics and topical application creams. Avatar m tn One type of staph infection leading to acne is folliculitis, which creates clusters of acne on the skin. It is important to know and confirm whether your acne is due to staph in order to address the infection before it gets worse. Any infection caused by staphylococcus bacteria can be considered as a serious infection that can appear anywhere on the body. It should be treated as early as possible. You will need topical and may be oral antibiotics.
1008869 tn?1283961257 check w/the provider - acne occurs during pregnancy, drats, but it should be okay to take amoxillicilan (sp?) w/a doctor's permission/prescription. I'm sorry he hasn't gotten back to you. In my experience and what I've read, it usually gets better during the 2nd trimester if that's any help. Hang in there!
Avatar n tn I am 25 (F) with a lot of acne problem on my face. i even did my hormonal test which hv shown normal results. i have tried everything else but nothing has help. i m getting married in 4 months. should i still consider hormonal treatment or go on accutane?
Avatar f tn I recently read about a genetic test called AcneDX that tests whether or not oral antibiotics will be an effective acne treatment. My teenaged daughter has moderate acne and tetracycline has been suggested. I'm concerned about giving her a medication that may have side effects and produce an antibiotic resistance later in her life, and it may not even work to clear her acne up. The test sounds like a great way to find out prior to treatment if the antibiotics will help.
Avatar m tn You may need treatment for as long as you are prone to acne. Antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline may need to be taken long term, and most patients can do this without serious side effects. Bert is right. Differin is a topical syntheitc retinoid which is really effective and generally well tolerated. Have you discussed Accutane (oral Isotretinoin) with your doctor? This is considered the "gold star" treatment for acne.

Moderate inflammatory acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids combined with oral antibiotics (tetracyclines). Isotretinoin is an option. Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar m tn I also asked him on his opinion on the lymph node he said same thing that it was caused by acne. About a week later I finished my antibiotics and started on the Isotretinoin. My lymph node isn't getting any bigger infact I think it is getting smaller. Is this a good thing? I am always feeling it but I read this could irritate it and stop it from going down but being a hypochondriac it is hard not to constantly feel it.

Avatar f tn I've been taking birth control for about 3 months now but I started taking antibiotics about 4 days ago. I did have sex a week and half ago and I'm worried that something is wrong. My period has came a week and half early. But I'm not sure if it's my period or implantation bleeding. Before the bleeding my discharge was clear and watery 2 days before bleeding but it usuallly only does this maybe a day or less before my period.
