May 04 For weeks I could not clean my ears they were constantly clogged, like being under water, or severe elevation change.
Hi, When you were diagnosed with the infection and prescribed with the medications, was there good compliance to the medications ? Also, initially during the early part of your consults was a urine culture done and was this used as a basis for your treatment?
I was treated for my first uti about two weeks ago. I finished all the antibiotics and made sure to drink a lot of water and cranberry juice to keep it from coming back. 3 days ago I began to feel my uti coming back. Why would this happen?
There is no way I would have ignored the pains and not gotten antibiotics, I felt sooo miserable.
I HAVE IC AND I not ABLE TO HAVE A BABY, THE REASON YOUR HAVING MS IS MAYBE BECAUSE uti INFECION. IT HAS BEEN PROVEN EVEN IN MY OWN FAMILY THAT uti CAN CAUSE PREMATURE LABOR.
About 7 wks after I had my baby (vaginal delivery no epidural) I started 2 get classic uti symptoms burning feeling ,having 2 pee when no urine in bladder, constant pressure . When I was a child i was in hospital 4 a month with complete kidney failure due 2 e coli , this resulted in a full recovery ! In the past ive had the same uti symptoms & have been able to rid of them by drinking water, cranberry pills, and frequent peeing.
I feel like this medicine isnt working. Ive been on it for about a week. Ughhh. Help please!
Once getting a new doctor i was sent for ultrasounds, blood work and a cystoscopy. I do not have intersistial cystitus. I have continued over the years to get the "symptoms" of a uti, and 60% of the time there is no bacterial growth when the urine is sent for cultures. I have the constant painful urge to urinate and sometime actually have the burning sensation when urinating.
Regardless, I asked if I can take uristat and I was told I can for two days, until the antibiotics start working. It gave great relief!! I would get it if I were you. Good luck-uti's are not fun!

Hi there, just wondering if being constipated almost all the time and also having internal hemmorhoids could cause or worsen burning pain that resembles uti pain. I have had this pain/burning before and after voiding for almost two months now..waiting on my doctor. But just wondering in the meantime. Can hemmorhoids/constipation cause any discomfort or anything in the vaginal area? Thanks so much.
Is it OK to keep taking antibiotics if there not working? Should 2 courses of antibiotics fix an infection? Besides the infection, I have no idea what's causing all the other symptoms, but I'm thinking maybe spasity. The pain is all on the left side mostly right by my belly button. But I also have a very tight "something" on the right side. It doesn't hurt at all just feels very solid and not on the left. So I'm thinking maybe it's an abdominal muscle?
I went to urologist, they found nothing, I was tested for gonoreah and chlamydia.Ive been slightly paranoid about it being herpes, I have slight redness in sme areas, but nothing resembling a herpes blisters, and I dont know if a outbreak could last this long without hardcore blisters. Maybe a false negative came up for gonoreah or chlamydia, maybe all the antibiotics Im on had affected some of the test the doctors did.
I believe I have been experiencing severe panic attacks/ anxiety as a result of a combination of antibiotics I was on for an uti. I have stopped the antibiotics, abou 36 hours ago, and am wondering how long before they are out of my system? and when they are out, will the anxiety go away? My GP prescribed a mild anti-anxiety drug and it has helped but not completely.. My heart is pounding and anytime I think of leaving the house I get sick to my stomach...
The uncomfortable/painful part of a uti clears up with antibiotics very quickly even though the antibiotics are still working to eradicate the bacteria. As you still have symptoms, you are on the wrong medication. Could you possibly have a yeast infection on top of it? Do you have any itching or discharge too?
What helped the brain fog (anything other than the antibiotics?) Did antibiotics that had worked stop working? amoxycillin worked a few weeks ago but then it came back and now amoxycillin has made no difference. Did you have to drop out of work/college/uni when you were going through this? I feel like I can't carry on with this brain fog Thank you so much for replying.
Hi there, It is not uncommon for women of your age to suffer from uti. Most urinary tract infections occur in the lower urinary tract, which includes the bladder and urethra. The condition occurs when the normally clean lower urinary tract is infected by bacteria and becomes inflamed. Urinary tract infections are very common. Most of the time, symptoms of a urinary tract infection disappear within 24 - 48 hours after treatment begins.
Yes go back ASAP I've been fighting the same uti for the past 2mths and now it turned into a kidney infection...
I'm sorry to be gone for so long and come back with a question :-( I had a uti start up today, very suddenly and very strong. Of course it was after all the pharmacies were closed. This is my 3rd uti in the last 6 months. Ever since my last one, I've been worried about another one, so I have started the routine of drinking a glass of 100% cranberry juice on the 3 mornings a week that I work out. I also have a yogurt twice a week. I do not think I have any urine retention problems.
I suffer from VERY frequent uti/Kidney infections and i am currently working on that issue. Along with these infections i always get headaches. Recently i've realized that the headaches can come without the infections. I was just told my uti is all clear but i still get a painful throbbing headache when i stand/walk uphill/etc. and it lingers most of the day. This has been going on for about a week now and it seems to happen every few months.
I am a 50 year old woman and until one month ago, had never suffered from a uti in my life. Now I seem to have one that will not go away despite repeated courses with antibiotics! My symptoms are frequent and urgent need to urinate. Three weeks ago I visited my gynecologist. She found a number of white cells in my urine sample--did not send a sample out for culture and sensitivity and put me on a 3-day course of Cipro. I felt better for a day or two and then relapsed.
The IC causes muscle contractions and those contractions cause the irritation and uti symptoms. That's probably why the antibiotics stopped working for you... at least I think. Again, I'm new to all of this, so hopefully this is helpful to you. Good luck!
I have been on an antibiotic for a uti for 6 days now but I am still having pelvic pain and urinary frequency. How long until I get relief?
I do not have a lyme dx but I am working with my neurologist on it...I am also looking for an LLMD in my area. I am sure that I will have no trouble finding one near Philadelphia. I have a question about antibiotics. Since 2001, I have what I thought was an allergy to Cipro. Took it for an upper respitory infection for 3 days and had terrible problems. The Dr then gave me Levaquin, took for 7 days, with the same side effects.
They gave you cipro as kills 99% of stomach bacteria so the they treated you for a stomach viris not STD's. not sure about the other one or why they switched. No testing means no knowing. Its for sure not STD related. But if you have a loved one that you want protected have testing for non std,s like herpes and syhlis only as a precaution only as you were a low risk for those only.
After 3 different doctors and hospitals the treatment isn't helping and they keep trying to give me more antibiotics that don't seem to be working. I didn't sleep with any girls except my girlfriend of 3 years, and she has been faithful as well. I'm 23 years old. So I doubt STD is the cause. Let's start from the beginning. First I experienced slow onset of pain in my right testicle that was ultrasound tested and turned out to be orchitis.
I been having a uti for a while now like months. And it does not want to go away. I get on antibiotics, then I feel better but it seems it doesn't go away completely and it comes back, I start feeling kidney pain thrn it goes away with antibiotics, then comes back. Im not sure if is thr same bacteria that is not fully killed or have different bacterias im just very overwhelming and starting to get depressed. So far I had two ultrasound my kidneys look fine no stones.
So after 15 days symptoms re-appear?...this is good news in a sense that the infection is not that bad and the antibiotics was working. Also i see you have done a culture/sensitivity test. The doctor is good, as he did the culture test first(most dr.'s don't), so i would stick with him especially if he is cheap. 1) Visit the doctor really soon 2) explain the outcome 3) Tell him about Prostatitis.
