antibiotics

Avatar f tn I have been on an antibiotic for a uti for 6 days now but I am still having pelvic pain and urinary frequency. How long until I get relief?
Avatar m tn I went to urologist, they found nothing, I was tested for gonoreah and chlamydia.Ive been slightly paranoid about it being herpes, I have slight redness in sme areas, but nothing resembling a herpes blisters, and I dont know if a outbreak could last this long without hardcore blisters. Maybe a false negative came up for gonoreah or chlamydia, maybe all the antibiotics Im on had affected some of the test the doctors did.
Avatar f tn Last week I was prescribed Bactrim DS for what my doctor said was a UTI but by symptoms seem way more like Kidney infection. It worked for the first 3 days, symptoms were gone within an hour of taking my first pill but then Friday I missed a dose (two pills) and then I started to have symptoms again, I took the pills and they did nothing.. is it possible that missing those two pills could have made the bacteria resistant to antibiotics?
Avatar f tn I have a uti and i am more than positive that i have one and it isnt my first time. My medicare does not kick in for another two weeks and i researched that a uti can spread to your kidneys and become life threatening.. does anybody know if free clinics will treat me and give me free antibiotics? I seriously dont want to wait another two weeks seeing as i have had this problem for more than 2-3 weeks as it is now.
Avatar n tn I haven't used coconut oil for a uti but its great for its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal properties. Same with olive leaf extract.
Avatar n tn I was treated for my first UTI about two weeks ago. I finished all the antibiotics and made sure to drink a lot of water and cranberry juice to keep it from coming back. 3 days ago I began to feel my UTI coming back. Why would this happen?
Avatar f tn Definitely take the antibiotics. Uti is something that needs antibiotics to cure and if it goes untreated then can develop into a kidney problem which in some cases can cause early labour. Much safer to take the meds. I've been on the same antibiotics twice during this pregnancy and am now 36+ weeks and baby is perfectly healthy.
Avatar f tn I recently got put on IV antibiotics for a pretty bad UTI. What my doctor did was to arrange for a pharmacy to deliver the meds to my house, and the pharmacy arranged for a home nurse to come by and administer it. It's not fun having that tube in your arm all week, but after the first day, I was able to administer my own treatments (and I'm normally terrified of needles and IVs).
Avatar f tn Peeing blood for men can mean so many things from a uti to internal life threatening bleeding. He needs to go to the E.R. thats the end of that honestly.
Avatar f tn t just try home remedies those might harm you indirectly. And not all home remedies will work for everyone and if you really have UTI that might certainly be harmful to your baby.

Avatar f tn Yes, my Dr gave me antibiotics for uti...I have had 2 so far during my pregnancy...yuck!
Avatar f tn I've had a UTI for over 10 days and on my third antibiotic and not feeling any better. The pain which feels like a pinched nerve in my lower back is excruciating and I also have a dull ache in the creases of my legs and on either side of the groin area, which comes and goes, mostly when I have a full bladder. I am a 35 yr old female. Could the back pain be a pinched nerve or is this the pain associated with a UTI? Also why is the creases of my legs hurting?
Avatar f tn About 7 wks after I had my baby (vaginal delivery no epidural) I started 2 get classic uti symptoms burning feeling ,having 2 pee when no urine in bladder, constant pressure . When I was a child i was in hospital 4 a month with complete kidney failure due 2 e coli , this resulted in a full recovery ! In the past ive had the same uti symptoms & have been able to rid of them by drinking water, cranberry pills, and frequent peeing.
Avatar f tn The uncomfortable/painful part of a UTI clears up with antibiotics very quickly even though the antibiotics are still working to eradicate the bacteria. As you still have symptoms, you are on the wrong medication. Could you possibly have a yeast infection on top of it? Do you have any itching or discharge too?
10572733 tn?1412713435 Okay Ladies. I am 21, a first time mother! I am 9 almost 10 weeks pregnant! I was diagnosed with a UTI about 7 weeks pregnant, at the time I didn't know I had one because I was not experiencing any of the symptoms, although cloudy pee did seem abnormal that's why I went to the ER! I was given Macrobid (antibiotic treated for UTI's) & was told that it would clear up within a week if I took the antibiotics as directed... Which I did!
2104110 tn?1358318243 Be glad they admitted you (although I know it can be boring) with my first daughter. At 31 weeks I had a uti went to the hospital for it and they sent me home on meds the next day I went back and it was too late I was already 10 cm dilated. The hardest thing I ever had to go through was my baby being in the NICU fora month. Good luck hopefully you'll be out of there in no time!
Avatar f tn Hi yes it is very possible to get genital reaction to meds but for women its most often a yeast infection not inside your urethra. Loose stools is not an symptom of chlamydia or UTI but maybe the meds. I would suggest a follow up with your doc about this. After 5 days you should not have any symptoms of chlamydia.
Avatar f tn ve read online, this looks like a strong and potentially dangerous antibiotic to take for what I understand to be a common UTI. I am not completely comfortable with the circumstances in which I was given this antibiotic, which may be contributing to my doubts. Is this a reasonable antibiotic for me to take?
Avatar f tn Your doctor should prescribe you something safe for your pregnancy...not saying that thats not safe because I'm not sure but when I had a UTI I got prescribed amoxcycillon..i think thats how u spell it..the reassured me it was safe for my baby. You can ask your doctor...he/she should know. If your not sure about using it ask for something else?
Avatar f tn I just finished macrobid on Sunday for my uti. It is safe for the baby.
Avatar f tn As much as I want to help with regards to your question on antibiotics, it is important to note that antibiotics are prescribed based on the working diagnosis and the most likely organisms causing your condition. Also, it is important to take note of your age and other underlying medical conditions. Let us wait for the results of the culture as this will help guide the next step of treatment. A kidney, ureter and bladder CT scan will be able to help visualize structures involved.
