Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. yes you have to go to the doctor, they will do a pelvic exam and take some swabs and if the test comes back positive for BV they will give you antibiotics, if it's yeast they will usually give you one pill called diflucan or some creams.

if it is due to taking antibiotics, try eating plain yogurt while taking the antibiotics...this will prevent a yeast infection from even begining.

Probiotics are good to take when you are having to take antibiotics...they help maintain balance so you don't get things like yeast infections. The can help keep your intestineal flaura balanced and it wouldn't hurt. Unfortunately, not only are you prone to getting yeast infections...you are also pregnant (which tends to lead to yeast infections)...and weren't you on antibiotics recently? Does your doctor know that it usually takes a couple rounds to get rid of your yeast?

Many women will take an antibiotic for something like strep and then end up with yeast infections. They end up taking anti-fungals then to clear that up. I don't know how to get your body back in balance. You could try reading some holistic health books. Perhaps they have suggestions.

Unfortunately some women are prone to recurrent yeast infections during pregnancy. Unless your doctor has told you specific OTC brands of yeast medication that are safe to use it is NOT adviseable to use OTC remedies as not all of them are safe. You really need to see you obgyn to get a prescription for something that can help knock this out instead of just making it become dormant for a short period of time.
