I took antibiotics awhile back for an upper respiratory infection, and baby is still doing well, highly active and everything. I know it's hard, but I do think the doctor wouldn't give you anything that was dangerous for the baby.
An apparent kidney infection had me down for the count. I was trying to wait until finishing the antibiotics to start up again, but I couldn't stand my shiney new Nike+ shoes going unused, so I decided to start small and work back up. Hopefully I haven't lost any ground!
Last year I got unprotected oral off a sex worker. I went for test for G & C and both came back clean. However I still get doubts about it and anytime somethng out of the blue happens, the alarm bells start ringing. This week my wife got a letter to call her doctor to discuss something which came up in her post kidney transplant tests based on the results from the hospital.
I have a UTI & my Dr prescribed antibiotics for it. I first noticed the infection when I got a backache, I have had kidney infection before so I knew it felt like that. I am starting my 5th day of antibiotics and had a.bad sleep last night. I woke up with my back really aching this morning (hurts to stand up for 5 mins). I am wondering if I should be worried that the antibiotics aren't working it if it's probably just the bad sleep.also, I am 28 weeks.
no in doctors surgery they tested my water then it was sent off to lab been back to doctors today still in pain still got infection changed antibiotics to penicillin got to try them for a week
A urine culture and sensitivity test may help determine the appropriate antibiotic for your infection. Check with your doctor to discuss the result and for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
I went to urgent care the other day because I was having really bad pain in my low back and could barely walk. The doctor said I had a Kidney infection and prescribed me antibiotics. My question is I have been taking them for 3 days now twice a day and been drinking lots of water, but my pain is still there it hasnt went away. Also when I woke up this morning I went pee and my right side hurt really bad for atleast 10 mins.
If it's a kidney infection you really need to be on antibiotics. A kidney infection is serious. I almost died from one being prescribed the wrong antibiotics. My kidneys were shutting down and my lips and nails were turning blue. You should really get it checked out ASAP. It's nothing to mess around with.
I have had two kidney infection's in one month . Had two course's of antibiotic's which finished 2nd one yesterday and still have pain and cloudy urine . Doc arranged scan for next week should i go back to her before scan to tell her infection still there .thankyou .
Could this be something other than a UTI? Urine culture showed a bacterial infection. Is it common for this to take 1 or 2 courses of antibiotics to clear up?

Hi, wonder if anyone can give me some advice. I have had a bladder/kidney infection for about 4 weeks now. I am on third lot of antibiotics. First was suprax, which gave some relief for a few days, then levoxacin, now on ciproxin. I had a cytoscopy that revealed the bladder infection. I have very bad pain in sides, back, and abdomen and am on pain medication for this. I'm worried that this third course of will not work. Has anyone experience an infection that isn't clearing from antibiotics?

Is there anything to clear up a kidney infection without going to the doctor? I am prone to UTI and I have had 1 kidney infection before. Well I am having the same symptoms and pain again. I don't have insurance. I know I should go see the doc but I just don't have the money to. Any suggestions would be great!
it sounds like a water infection you need to go to the doctors for treatment before it gets worse and causes a bad infection in the kidneys, make sure you are drinking alot of fluids to it helps to flush it away
It was than that I went to my doc's and had a urine sample done and found out I had a bad kidney infection. It is not easy for me to tell if I have an infection, cuz I am usually always in pain in my lower back due to Endo! I was put on Macrobid for 10 days. And I think the pain is subsiding now. Thank god! That did help tho!
Hello, my name is Loraine I am 19 years old in January of 2010 I was hospitalized for a kidney infection for 4 days. In two 2005 I was also hospitalized for severe right side pain then later I was diagnosed with a urine infection not a U.T.I. Just recently I have been on more antibiotics for a urine infection (my first 2nd to 3rd time) and till this day I continue to have uncomfortable pain that does not away. My concern is why do I continue to have urine infections? Is it because of my kidneys?
Well I just found out I have a uti which I start antibiotics today. But what if it became a kidney infection. I mean ive been peeing alot since im drinking more water.
Loads of sex and being unclean before and after (like not going pee or cleaning yourself up after sex) can lead to a urine infection, which if not taken care of can lead to a kidney infection. You probably had a urine infection. When it gets to your kidneys you should be running a fever and in so much pain you are physically disabled in pain. You can get some back pain from a bladder infection as well, but if it were in the kidneys you would be in extreme pain.
Does anyone know if it is possible to still have a kidney infection after rounds of antibiotics like Cipro and Levaquin? Every time I go to the ER they tell me that my urine is free of bacteria but contains white blood cells. I have extreme flank pain and abdominal pain.
If you are having a problem when you go to pass urine, like it hurts or burns when you pee or you are going very often for a pee, you may have a bladder infection or a urinary infection. With a kidney infection you would have pain on either side on the back, just below the rib cage, sometime you may experience tummy and or lower back pain too. You would also experience going very often for a pee or have difficulty in urinating.
Today I had an episode where I felt very light headed and couldn't hear for about 10 seconds.. does anybody have any idea if this could be kidney infection? I also feel like I am having bad braxton hicks contractions.. maybe it's just pain from my infection... this is my first pregnancy, please help. My husband works offshore and I'm alone and worried.
I never had a kidney infection but at 29 weeks I had kidney stones that caused my urine to be pure blood and contractions that required magnesium to stop. I would go in just in case.
I recently fell in the backyard and bruised the area of the left kidney (same as what is infected now). Could the fall be connected to the infection? Thanks for any replys!
Hi I was hoping to get some help I went to the doctor Monday andwas prescribed antibotics for a kidney infection however four days later it is worse then before my hands and feet are.swollen and tingly andever time I take the medication I experince excruciating pain that usual result in vomiting. I also hae a duplicate kidney on my left side should I be concerned??
I told them my family has extensive histories of bladder/kidney issues (my aunt died as a child due to kidney failure, for example). After they did a simple urinalysis, I was given some antibiotics and sent on my way. Now, 3 days later, I find my symptoms are not even beginning to improve. I'm having to strain when I urinate, and throughout the entire time, but I feel like I'm not emptying my bladder. The pain in my back has gotten so bad that I halfway limp when I walk.
I'd go back to the clinic as it could be that it is a kidney infection and the bacteria are resistant to the antibiotics you have. I know you don't want to cancel your trip but your health must come first!
