A month ago, I was admitted to the hospital for Acute Pyelonephritis. For 6 days, they pumped approximately 40 bags of IV antibiotics, fluids, and minerals (potassium, magnesium, etc.) into me. When discharged, I continued another 2 weeks of Cipro and 2 rounds of Fluconazole for yeast infection. Since ending the last round of pills 5 days ago, my bowel movements have begun to return to normal after having antibiotic-induced diarrhea for a month.
Therefore, on Tuesday (1/11/2011) I went to the immediate care place and tested positive for blood in stool no external hemorrhoids, but they could not test for internal hemorrhoids (no anascope).
They requested stool samples which I provided directly to our local hospital lab, with blood very visible red liquid. Also, when whipping, no way to say it otherwise, it looked like a murder scene. However, all tests returned negative for Stool cultures, c diff, and parasites in fecal samples.
My father has been on antibiotics for rather a long period of times (90 different types of antibiotics in about 2 months in succession for a flu that led both to sinus infections and laryngitis that didn't easily go away.
He's now off antibiotics and feels generally OK except for bloating, heartburn and fresh bright blood in his stool :( Can that be serious considering the huge number of antibiotics he has taken?
this is so mess up, after stressing badly for 8weeks barely eating, barely sleeping and dumb enough i decided to take antibiotics i have develope some serious anal bleeding that has being going for 2weeks now.
i knew something was going to happen after the really bad treatment i gave to my body.
now when i go to the loop there is a pain when i am passing stool as if it was really tight then there is blood all over the place on the stool on the paper.
Hemorrhoids won't respond to antibiotics, but there are over the counter things you can try. You really should see your doctor first, though.
I would try something specifically for hemorrhoids, i.e Preparation H, as the above poster stated. However, the ideal thing to do is consult your physician. He/she may have to prescribe something for you.

Treatment for hemorrhoids would depend on the kind and severity of one’s symptoms. If the hemorrhoids are still small and do not cause any problems, oral medications and an ointment applied on them would be helpful. Having a high fiber diet and increasing water intake would also help. However, if the hemorrhoids are already thrombosed, resulting in bleeding, enlargement, pain, and difficulty in moving the bowels, surgical excision would be the best treatment.
So I’m not sure if this question belongs here , but I’ve noticed for the past 3 months this red slit along the fold in my buttcrack.. I don’t recall it itching but all I can think of is maybe the time I had a yeast infection 4 months back that I got from taking oral antibiotics but I normally treat it right away cause antibiotics give me yeast infections .. well this slit doesn’t hurt , there’s no blood or smell coming from it , it’s like a smooth red line just down the crack ..
I want to know does protatitis cause hemrroids or could he be experiencing something else. He has had alot of extramarital activities and has tested negative for STDs as far as I know. What else should I be looking for when talking to the doctor. They seem to see him rapidly and diagnosed him with prostatits and jock itch. The hemrroids is new and we havent gone to a doctor yet. Help me with some insight please. He is in alot of pain.
First had more mucus, now more blood. I have had external hemorrhoids in the past but have not had a flare for a yr and half but have never experienced bleeding, only inflammation. I've read that bleeding hemorrhoids usually lasts a few days at a time, not wks. I've been taking Citrucel to help bulk up the stool, but I seem to either pass small balls or none at all.
Is your Dr checking for infection before prescribing antibiotics? Taking antibiotics can cause yeast build up in your body.
Has your Dr checked for hemorrhoids? That might be your problem. They can be so painful.
About three weeks ago I began to notice blood in the toilet after bowel movements. This eventually dissipated after a week to week and a half. However, not long after the blood stopped, a new problem developed. After each BM, I have pain in my rectum. Sometimes it happens immediately, but other times it can take 1-2 hours. Whenever it develops, it lasts for hours. If I have a BM in the evening, I can even have problems sleeping.
I am a 21 yr. old male and have a history of hemorrhoids. I had the banding procedure done about 6-8 months ago. I went to see a general surgeon 2 weeks ago because I was having rectal pain, discomfort and itching again. He told me I have pruritus ani. I was wondering if i shouldask to have an anoscopy done when I return to see him for a follow-up in two weeks? I would rather have an anoscopy done before him telling me to have a colonoscopy done. By now she thinks she can control her symptoms by cutting out certain foods like onion, garlic, bell peppers etc. She does OK for a while but things get worse for her and then she finds blood in her stool. It’s really red, and it only happened once but there was quite a lot. She said it seemed to leak out of the stool and turned the water red.
She gets sent to get a colonoscopy and a gastronomy, which are both done.

My colonoscopy 2 years ago also showed a few diverticula and 2nd degree hemorrhoids. At that time my reason for the scope was anemia. There was no bleeding at that time. I did have gastric bypass surgery in Jan 04. That was determined to be the cause of the anemia, an inability to absorb iron, I had iron infusions and have not had anemia since. Any advice or input is appreciated.
A hemorrhoid is not an STI, and hemorrhoids are never a sign of one.
Are they sure it was a hemorrhoid? It's not impossible for that to become infected, but it's considered rare for that to happen. Perhaps the fingering caused a cut and that got infected? Hemorrhoids can need to be lanced, but being infected is rare.
In any case, fingering does not transmit STIs, and while unprotected oral can transmit them, none would cause anything that needs to be lanced.
ve seen for my early symptoms (the penis discharge, and the one gave me antibiotics) said that there are no tests for the STDs that I mentioned for men (unless I develop the symptoms). So what should I do now?
I was scared of it being warts or hemorrhoids. It went away after taking Activia yogurt and probiotics for a few days.
Hemorrhoids :/ I have those too..
