Avatar n tn Please see an ophthalmologist. Often patients are treated with antibiotics, unnecessarily for things like dry eye syndrome or allergic conjuctivitis. You could easily have something like dry eye keratopathy. Suggest you see EyeMD Ophthalmologist right away to see what you actually have and in meantime stop eyewash (it has chemicals and detergents and will wash out your good lubricating tear film worsening your problem) and use TheraTears or Genteal drops every few hours and bedtime .
Avatar f tn They will give you a course of antibiotics. For me I was given the pill. The dr will keep an eye on you. But honestly it is nothing to worry about as long as you finish your antibiotics.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with dry eye, blepharitis, clogged glands in March. I was prescribed Retasis, which seems to be helping. I use warm compresses and wash with baby shampoo twice a day. However, I continue to have inflamed eyelids, I've lost most of my eyelashes and my eyes get infected constantly. I have been using zylet, and dioxcycline orally. My doctor insists I keep using restasis even though my eyes are constantly infected. I thought this was contraindicted.

Avatar n tn It could be uveitis, an inflammation involving the pigmented areas in the eyes, Glaucoma, cluster headaches, optic neuritis or any other condition. Please consult an eye specialist first for a complete eye examination and a CT scan to determine the cause. If the eye problems are ruled out, please consult a neurologist and go for an MRI of the brain to check whether there is a pathology in the brain. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!

Avatar n tn I feel like ordering a bunch of antibiotics and just go through a course just for the sake of it. Maybe the smell or moisture stops, or at worst nothing changes and I put myself at a little more risk by doing a 14 day course (antibiotic resistant and all). Please please please help. I'd greatly appreciate it.
1123420 tn?1350561158 I was on antibiotics for a bladder infection I didn't even know I had. They say the infection could cause more problems then the antibiotics. (I guess preterm labor is the risk with a bladder infection)I've been taking cranberry pills since the infection to try to prevent future infections. Most importantly drink plenty of fluids.
Avatar f tn Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
Avatar n tn if it is due to taking antibiotics, try eating plain yogurt while taking the antibiotics...this will prevent a yeast infection from even begining.
Avatar f tn I have uneven pupils My left eye (smaller pupil) is a good eye, see very clear, mostly accommodate for both eye. My right eye (the bigger pupil) has always been bad, blurry. Lately, when looking at traffic light (especially the arrow light) from afar or looking at words from afar, I sorta see double/triple vision (worst if I close my left eye (the good eye). However, as I'm coming closer to the light, they are more formed.
Avatar f tn yes you have to go to the doctor, they will do a pelvic exam and take some swabs and if the test comes back positive for BV they will give you antibiotics, if it's yeast they will usually give you one pill called diflucan or some creams.

Avatar f tn I am a contact lens wearer, and I continually getting eye infections, for about the past 2 years. (I've been wearing contacts for about 5 years.) My eyes get very red and become painful, and occasionally swell. I become very light-sensitive and my pupils constrict to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. Avatar n tn Viral eye infections are like getting the flu, antibiotics don't help and both can last for several weeks. Several viral eye infections like epidemic kerato-conjunctiviits (EKC) behave in the way your describe. Its likely that the antibitoics were of no help at all other than the drops to prevent a secondary bacterial infection.
