That is dumb and reckless on your doctors part. Let that uti turn into a kidney infection and send you into preterm labor and your doctor will be like o I should have given you antibiotics. I've never not gotten antibiotics for a uti. And no amount of water, cranberry juice or anything else was ever effective at getting rid of them.
I think I have a bladder infection and I've had it for the last couple of days and can't get rid of it. Sometimes it hurts so bad I bleed and little. What do I do about this?

And also can I drink Kefir with probiotics in it while I'm on the antibiotic?I'm trying to keep my body in balance while the antibiotics are working. I've also read that a mixture of water, vinegar and honey may help. But I'm wondering if the vinegar might be too acidic and irritate my bladder even more. So last week when I was at my obgyn i asked him if he could send my urine to the lab because I felt a bladder infection was comming on. Few days later they called my pharmacy for antibiotics since I did in fact have one. 2nd one this pregnancy. And I drink lots of damn water. Anyway this antibiotics is strong and now I have a yeast infection. I know I can take monistat for it but. When should i start using it? I still have 7 days of antibiotics to take.
A urologist offered a prescription for those same antibiotics i keep taking, but enough that i can treat myself whenever i feel an infection coming on. I will take a course of antibiotics to GET RID of the infection, but NOT to treat it. I also don't think that you randomly break out in a series of seemingly incurable infections for no apparent reason. HELP. i don't know whats wrong and quite frankly, doctors don't give a ****.
Just got back from my 30 week appointment and was told I have a slight bladder infection. Got antibiotics prescribed and my ob said it was a normal thing while pregnant but I don't feel like I have any symptoms. I've had frequent bladder infections throughout this whole pregnancy , idk why it keeps coming back . It feels like a constant push on my bladder it's very uncomfortable . To me it was a mild pain , but not really pain ! Almost felt like my baby was always trying to come out . Like a constant urge to pee but your bladder be empty !
Always felt like a urinary tract infection or kidney infection. Was much later diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis. Was treated for that with great results. Basically, your bladder goes into a spasm, holding urine and creating the pain I felt. Treatment was to take meds to help soft muscles to relax and allow urine to be passed. Also had to have in office infusions into bladder with heparin. I found that the antihystamine Hydroxizine to be a deterrent to flares and now use it daily.....
I have had a bladder infection for 3days now and its really bad, ive taken a number of cranberry tablets but it is still there. I havnt peed blood yet but iv got a really sore back and find it hard to walk. For a bladder infection that would be fine to try and cure it at home However a uti can jump out of your track and also infect your kidneys and it even gave me an infection in my Uteran wall thank god it was caught but a uti is nothing to play with get tested and get antibiotics just to keep baby safe
I am hoping that I do not have to take them at all during this pregnancy as with my 8 year old I had to take them in 3rd trimester due to kidney infection and just recently my daughter had a water infection, two different antibiotics did not work for her, luckily the third cleared it up, I am worried my daughter has become immune to certain antibiotics due to me taking them in my pregnancy, it might not be that but it did put me off but it f you need them then there is nothing you can do
I've been on antibiotics almost staright for 3 and1/2 years. As soon as I'm off antibiotics for 2 weeks a bladder infection comes right back! I've suffered on and off for the last 10 years. 19 years ago I had kidney stones when I was pregnant. I've had scopes done and ct scans and everything shows normal. I had a cyst removed from my left ovarian 7 years ago and I had endometriosis removed off of the outside of my bladder 6 months ago!
I was admitted into the hospital yesterday morning and the doc thinks I have a kidney infection. I am still here and waiting for my next dose of antibiotics. It might be a couple of days before I can go home. :( since I've been in the hospital I've been drinking water like crazy Ans loving it except for the fact that I am swollen :/. Thank you for the advice.
