Avatar n tn This type of treatment is one of the appropriate hormone (anti-estrogen) treatments of estrogen receptive breast cancer in post-menopausal women.
Avatar f tn Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it? I finally feel abit better but I don't want to move cause moving equals hot flashes/sweating.
Avatar n tn No, you don't. But giving up all dairy products is just smart. All dairy cows produce a lot of estrogen just to produce milk. Forget the fact that they are given de-wormers, antibiotics, growth hormones and such. And animal estrogen isn't a good thing. Then there comes the debate about phytoestrogens in plants. Soy for instance .... so many studies and so many different answers! Keep everything in moderation and you will do well. I actually take a drug called neurontin for hot flashes.

880023 tn?1241744504 I mostly completed my shopping list for the baby, except the travel system. I was wondering, if it worth waiting for the Thanksgiving sale to get it. I never really paid attention if they ever have anything like that on sale for Thanksgiving, but would assume stores like babiesrus would offer some sale. Anyone had experience with it?
Avatar f tn Well, the whole endocrine system is interrelated. However, with the elevated antibodies, this is definitely a thyroid disease. You might start shopping for a new doctor who treats more by symptoms. Because of the antibodies, I would consider this a separate issue. I'd see an endo and ask some questions before making an appointment, like if he has experience and expertise in dealing with both thyroid and estrogen issues together.
Avatar n tn New symptoms which I never had before were brain fog for a few days during my period, insomnia, more sweating and itchiness (an itching that comes from inside, out). Half an anti-histamine tablet will keep me okay for a day or two but then the itching returns. It is not due to dry skin or a food allergy though I have some food intolerances (but I avoid those foods). I do have an allergic profile and suffered a lot from Hay Fever when I lived in the US but not in Europe, where I live now.
Avatar m tn She has had the treatment for the breast cancer, their might also be recommendation for some type of anti-estrogen treatment as well to further decrease her risk of recurrence as well. The use of hormone (anti-estrogen) treatment, and type of hormone treatment will be determined based on risks and benefits, as well as other factors such as her menopausal status and any other health issues. It is not clear as to why the hysterectomy is being recommended based on the above information.
Avatar f tn My previous doctor tried me in Effexor instead of estrogen for extreme menopausal symptoms and migraines because the clinic now refuses to prescribe estrogen to anyone. I had been on low dose (.25 mg) estrogen every other day over 25 years since I had to have a hysterectomy when I was in my 30s. On Effexor I could not even function. I could only work for a few minutes at a time and then would feel exhausted and unable to concentrate so I had to lie down. I cried all the time.
Avatar n tn Yes, it's not the retina's fault, it's the vitreous pulling on it that tears the retina away. The vitreous humour, by the way, contains the second highest concentration of vitamin C in the body. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant as well as being necessary for the formation of collagen. I don't know whether upping your vitamin C intake would help. Judily.

In Santa Ana, California, and some other cities, nonviolent offenders can pay for a clean, quiet jail cell, without any non-paying prisoners to disturb them. • Access to the carpool lane while driving solo: $8. Minneapolis, San Diego, Houston, Seattle, and other cities have sought to ease traffic congestion by letting solo drivers pay to drive in carpool lanes, at rates that vary according to traffic.

Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
Avatar m tn //www.healthline.com/health/low-testosterone/anti-estrogen-diet-men It's all that healthy stuff, not surprising. It's got red grapes on it though which I personally like.
1143127 tn?1406726153 I went to, gave me estrogen, vaginal cream to use every time before I go to bed and an antibiotic for bladder infection. I have not used the estrogen cream due to my concerns about breast cancer, other side effects, and also, if I go off of it; my hot flashes and night sweats will come back with a vengeance. I don't have either of those anymore. I want to use a natural or biodentical treatment rather than the normally prescribed methods. Are they actually better?
Avatar n tn Hi! One of the anti-estrogen drugs, Aromasin, is in the same family as Femara. These drugs are very new and thus far had been used only with breast cancer patients. Aromasin is now in clinical trials for ovarian cancer recurrence. I did not wait to see the outcome of the trials; I got a prescription for it and have been on it for almost a year. It cuts the estrogen production in the body, so that if your cancer is estrogen receptive, it's less likely that it will recur.
408448 tn?1286883821 Some ovarian cancers do slow down with the use of anti estrogen therapies such as tamoxifen, arimidex and other SERMs (selective estrogen receptor modulators). These are usually of the endometrioid or serous cell subtype. They are usually grade one or two. It is not clear whether testing fro estrogen receptors is helpful but we do do that as these therapies are considered .
Avatar m tn ve been going through menopause for about 15 years, still get hot flashes....will the anti-estrogen therapy get rid of them, or make them worse?
