Avatar m tn In addition, excessive weight may contribute to hormonal imbalances in testosterone and estrogen, allowing actual breast tissue to develop. While most cases of gynecomastia resolve themselves over time, additional medical procedures may be needed to reduce the excessive skin that has developed or to remove actual breast tissue if it has formed over time. All this being said you should see your doctor! Don't be ashamed!!
Avatar f tn Hai, would like to know it dangerous for 10 year old boy is having lump that is underneath the nipple?
Avatar f tn Try starting counseling as well for the depression and Gynecomastia. The gynecomastia leads to body disturbances for males especially at a young age. This can be causing a big part of the depression. Also talk to the health care provider about weight and see if this could have something to do about the low testosterone levels.
Avatar m tn I've been wondering if whether or not as a younger child in early puberty I had a little bit of a hormonal imbalance. I seem to have wider hips than most males and bonafide breast nub development. I was wondering if this is a concern for me presently because I was thinking of getting cosmetic gynecomastia-correcting surgery at some point, but I don't want any reason for my body to grow them back. I have pictures that I will gladly PM. Thank you!
Avatar m tn I had a reaction, got sick for one day, but the pain was gone for a week after that (not taking the Bactrim). After the pain came back, I was instructed to try the Bactrim again; got sick almost immediately, and again the pain was gone for a week. I have not taken the Bactrim since that one. Well, I finally got an ultrasound. I was informed that I had "a bit" of gynecomastia in the right nipple.
Avatar m tn Hi, Breast cancer in the male breast is relatively rare especially at your age,but since you can feel a lump under the areola, then it is necessary to see your Doctor for a clinical breast exam and maybe some type of testing for a correct diagnosis. A painful lump does not usually indicate breast cancer.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your information but I would like to confirm is there any pain for gynaecomastia? Other than that, as for the problem of frequent urination, I had done the urinalysis test thrice but all the results came out negative. Does anyone has any idea of what I'm going through?
Avatar m tn many hormones play a role in gynecomastya, the main three are testosterone, estradiol and prolactine, regarding the testosterone you should have a healthy testosterone to estradiol ratio, estradiol E2 (estrogen) is a very important hormone for bothe genders and its very supportive for your immune system, your bone structure your emotions and even your sex drive but it should always be in a right balance with testosterone, if it was imbanced it will cause many troubles including gyno.
Avatar n tn i m 40 years of age and recently recovered from TB disease and i took anti TB medicenes for 14 months after using these medicenes i have male boobs is it result of those medicenes i am average body type kindly help me and solve my problem and tell how i can loose my boobs fat
Avatar m tn Yes, since you smoke and you are overweight you are in high risk for ED (among other much more serious conditions). But gynecomastia may indicate a hormonal disorder, so you have to wait and see the results. In some cases no apparent cause can be identified. If you need a lifetime fix or not depends on the exact nature of the cause of your symptoms. So, again you have to wait for the results of the test.
Avatar m tn Hi Over the internet it is difficult to give you an exact answer to your question. It is rare for men to get breast cancer though. But as rare as it might be, it could still happen, especially when men get older. What you have could be a cyst or an infection but a lump,as a rule, should always be examined by a medical professional. It's a good thing that you are having this lump checked out. I hope that everything will turn up just fine. Best wishes...
Avatar m tn Hi, In my opinion, what you have is not breast cancer, but sounds like a benign condition called Gynecomastia, caused by an imbalance of the hormones estrogen and testosterone, which promotes tissue growth in one or both breasts. Generally, gynecomastia isn't a serious problem, sometimes it goes away on it's own after a few years, but if it persists it can be corrected with surgery.
Avatar n tn but then i came 2 know, that breast cancer very, very rarely happen in males, so i thought it is gynecomastia and will get away during course of time. however they r not. i guess i also have hormone problem, as even though i am 20, i am not muscular and i have a very sparse facial hair. is there any link of this with these lumps, or are these REALLY symptoms of cancer. i am about to approach docter, just needed an opinion from an expert.
Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/gynecomastia/symptoms-causes/syc-20351793 It might also not be increases in estrogen but instead decreases in testosterone that can cause this problem. Some meds (including some anti-anxiety medications) can cause the problem as well. Check out the article, there's too much info to paraphrase here.

Avatar m tn s gynecomastia for sure because fat deposits are symmetric. Gynecomastia can often be unilateral. You probably have "permanent" gyneomastia on that side. Surgical excision is the only remedy I am familiar with for that. If occurring due to a particular medication or frequent pot use, cessation of that agent may possibly reduce it (at least reduce the tenderness part).
Avatar m tn Im am 23 years old and have had mild gynecomastia in one breast tissue for the past 3 years. I saw a doctor about this 2 years ago and he assured me that i had no serious medical condition and not to worry about it.He gave increased estrogen production as the reason behind it. 2 Years on the symtoms have not improved or gotten worse. Should i go back and see the doctor again to re evaluate? Do i need to worry about issues such as fertility?
Avatar m tn An adequate intake of indole-3-carbinol (I3C), through vegetables such as broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cabbage, or via supplements, may prove to be very helpful for aging men in both keeping estrogen levels in check and decreasing their risk of prostate cancer. 5. Zinc is essential for optimal testosterone production. One supplement that should be considered absolutely essential for maintaining a man’s testosterone levels is zinc.
Avatar m tn Are you taking any medications, such as anti-depressants, anti-anxiety med, etc? What about herbal supplements of any kind?
