My question is can some of the lack of interest in doing anything be due to depression and not possible MS itself? Would anti depressants help? Has anyone gone through these kind of feelings and what did you do for help?

My sister is 39 yrs old from last 2 yrs she has been into medidation vigrously ,after which she started to become very reserved not talking much,about six months while she was in medidation camp she felt she was spirtually connected to man(the man was real but i dont think he loved her , she is married and with 2 kids 16 and 14 )she was ready to leave husband and kids .
It depends on which medication, there are some that are safe. Ive been having issues with it, because ive already taken all the ones that are safe at one point and there are very few that are safe.
I've been told anything other then Tylenol or prenatals can hurt the baby. Read up on the medication. The ER doctor I saw when I found out I was pregnant (we didn't think we could have kids so it was the last thought on my mind when I had symptoms) prescribed me an anti nausea medicine only for me to look it up & see all the stuff it can do to a baby. No thanks! Do research yourself!
My mother is 67yrs old, recently the doctor advised her to take both Serta 25 and stalopam plus, both are anti depression medicines. But her blood pressure is normal. can some one help me know why she had been prescribed two anti depression medicines.
old male that has had varying stages of depression for yrs. After trying at least 7 different anti-depressants over the last 7+ yrs that did not help, I had my testosterone level checked. I found that my testosterone level was low, but in the "normal" range. One thing about the testo ranges is that some people have almost 10 times as much, but all seem to be "normal" numbers. That just did not seem right to me, so I talked my MD into taking self injections of testosterone.

I am seeing a professional therapist, and he is recommending anti depressants. I think my depression is caused by a mix of genetics (depression runs in my family) and my life situation. Lately my depression seems to be getting worse, I feel like i've lost interest in a lot of things that I used to enjoy, often I don't want to get out of bed, I cannot see the good in anything, I only focus on the bad, and lately I have been having more suicidal thoughts.
a lot of people are sensitive to anti-depressants and others medication. i would talk to your doctor and try and find a medication that doesn't make make you feel sick, so you can get some benefits. :) Good luck.
im a single mum of two children yet been on metadone for nearly a year i also have server deppresion and take medication for this yet i always feel tierd run down with no get up and go all i want is to enjoy my life again and be the best mum for my kids yet admitedly i have relapsed a few times jus as im tring to pick up my mood yet feel even worse i dont no which way to turn if to try some thing else and do a quick detox from the meth or what and i need to find a deppresion medication that work
And is there any evidence that taking anti-depression medication reduces the symptoms from having chronic back pain?
I have been taking these meds for a short duration now and find that I seem to feel alittle bit better when taking them. Maybe mentially anyway.
does anyone know anything about celexa? for depression I have been on wellbution 300 mg lexapro paxil ... i can't find anything that continues to work for my depression. It seems to work for a little while and then stops. Or maybe it's just me? my diagnosis is bipolar 2 although sometimes I think it's bipolar1 with depression. I never have any energy and i feel trapped in my house. I am very antisocial. I don't want to be. I just cant help it .
He was very good and after a couple of meetings he prescribed me with medication for what he called a chemical imbalance in my brain that caused depression. The meds worked and I definitely wasn't as sad most of the time. So for seven years I've taken meds. More recently I've started to feel, emotionless and even angry (on the inside). Im not suicidal like I was in middle school, but I definitely don't feel good.
It also sounds like the weight gain could have been triggered by medication, or depression. 40 is not to young to experience a lot of this.
Hey Megan, I am 72 years old and after 20 years of being on anti depressants, I am now free of all medication. Like you I have been on many different anti depressants over the years. I took Zoloft for quite a few years, and it worked well for me. It is just that my doctor thought I needed a change.
I understand that St John's Wort works for people with mild depression, so it may be worth a try. I have never tried it myselof.
I am on day 6 cold turkey off percocets. I realize the underlying issue is depression/coping. Today I saw a NP and was prescribed Saphris 5mg SL every night and started on Lamictal with a tapering increase in dose over the next month. Im not comfortable with the Saphris though,,,its an "atypical antipsychotic" and used for people with Bipolar I disorder and schizophrenia?????
Lowering a medication to discontinue it should be under a psychiatrist's supervision at the exact rate. I've ran into problems myself in the past doing it on my own. Its definitely not a good idea. Zyprexa is an antipsychotic used as a mood stabilizer. Lithium of course is a mood stabilizer. Neither are specifically anti-depressents though they would have some anti-depressent effect.
