Avatar f tn I do some yoga. I tend not to do an entire program but I do use some poses and occasionally pop on my prenatal yoga CD for a bit. I enjoy cat/cow and tree pose and downward facing dog and child's pose a lot. Hip rolls and torso twists. Also do some modified planks now. I really fell off of my exercise regimen after getting pregnant but I do try to at least stretch every day, do a touch of yoga, and do some leg and arm lifts and curls with light weights.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I have severe arthritis in virtually every joint in my body, but a night sleeping with my neck in a "bad" position can create so much pain, stress and tension, I want to scream or cry and sometimes did both! I wasn't into Yoga until a friend saw me wincing every time I moved my head.

649848 tn?1534633700 If I have trouble with a pose, I can back up the dvd and try it again. I have only myself to keep up with and only my last pose to better. Because there are so many different types of yoga and I'm not an expert, I can only discuss what yoga does for me - everyone else would have to draw their own conclusion. I've done web searches for yoga and if you do that, you will come up tons of sites that give a lot of info, even where to find classes, etc.

Avatar f tn Pelvic tilts are basically going from cow pose to cat pose, but don't go deep into cow pose, stay shallow. Focus on cat pose with hips and back arched. Rolling hips slowly around like a hula hoop is good. Wide squats are good for flexibility and leg and glute strength, but sometimes aggrivate my sciatic. Swinging your arms as they dangle at your sides, in a circle, stretches your back and whole middle body. Rolling ankles helps blood flow and soreness.
Avatar f tn t over do it! If you do yoga and notice you are holding your breath or clenching your jaw in the pose then you are going to far to fast...it's a gentle slow progression and you will be amazed at the results!
Avatar n tn do you do yoga at all? i don't know about the feet and knees but the Warrior Pose REALLY helps my hips.
Avatar n tn Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose): Lie down on the floor with your chest placed against the floor. Raise your upper body, pressing your palms against the floor. Your face should be pointing the roof and your forearms should be perpendicular to the floor. Gowmukhasana (Cow Pose): Sit in a half-lotus pose, stretch your right arm upwards, twist it backwards and lower it to touch the upper part of the back. Simultaneously, twist the left arm and move it backwards and upwards to touch the right arm.
Avatar f tn I tried it and it didn't help me at all. The cat cow yoga pose did.
Avatar f tn I've had it w all 3 of my pregnancies. It's miserable. You can't really take anything for it-Tylenol doesn't do anything. Yes a chiropractor can help. What really helped me was stretching & yoga. Stretch every night & a fee times a day. Yoga poses that really helped are the warrior pose, the pigeon, & child's pose. Look them up online-but it's the only thing that helped me.
Avatar f tn I was the same way before I had my first son. I didn't want him to have my anxietys and be painfully shy like me, so I pushed out of my shell. Check out momsclub.org and look up your local chaper. I promise I rolled my eyes at this when someone first told me about it. I totally pre judged what it was about. I joined when my son was a year old and we both made lifelong friends. I found some amazing supportive mothers. We have playgroups, mons night out. Etc.
Avatar f tn I had my first... Super easy pregnancy, no sickness, very few aches or pains. The 2nd was born 5 yrs after, and I had so much hip pain. Now prego with my 3rd (the two little one will be 19 months apart :-0) my last two pregnancies I get sooo much hip pain, this time it started around 22 weeks (26 wks now). What REALLY helped was stretching (yoga) if you don't have time to do a full pregnancy yoga class (I just have a home DVD-no time for a class).
Avatar f tn I do some yoga pregnancy poses-warrior pose, pigeon etc.
Avatar n tn It's called the dead man's pose...it's a yoga techinque i read about... and it's suppose to stop arrmythmias in their tracks...I'm approaching my lovely menstrual period and get so many pvcs and tachycardia...so I tried this technique when i was experiencing a bout of tachycardia - whereas, my heart was racing 120bpm...and seconds after doing it...my heart went back into normal rhythm...i read about this technique in a book on how to stop arrmthymias...i also have svt...
Avatar f tn Prenatal yoga can help a lot. Until you get to a class try some cat/cow, pigeon, and hamstring stretches. You can find lots of videos on YouTube demonstrating how to do them. I'm 22 weeks and still work out and do yoga. Have had plenty of symptoms but hardly any back pain.
Avatar f tn Rest and some tylenol is the best I can offer for this weekend. I highly recommend prenatal yoga classes. I went to an 8 week series and they teach you great stretches for you back and hips to help the soreness and strain. It's worth looking into for natural relief.
Avatar f tn What vitamins can I take to prevent aging? Exclusively the face and neck areas. If there is not a vitamin, can herbs help and what kind? Any Natural Preventions?
9536744 tn?1414122031 There is a yoga pose called downward dog and child's pose. Basically get on your hands and knees, let your head to the floor and hang out there for a few. Do that a few times a day. It helped me turn my son.

Avatar n tn When I was around 18w I did a lot of what I can only describe as a yoga pose ... sitting on your knees and lean foreword stretching your arms in front of you. I hope you start feeling better.
168348 tn?1379357075 Congratulations on joining the Y - I wish there was one near me (there is one in town, but WAY out of my way to get to). I'm glad you are going to give the yoga a try. I'm sure there should be some poses that you can do that won't be too hard on your ankle. You might also find it beneficial to wear some type of elastic support (such as ace bandage, etc).
