I have been taking Wellbutrin for about a year. It has helped me tremendously, but I have noticed drastic signs of aging in my skin. It's lost it's youthfulness, and is more wrinkled especially under my eyes. I have tried cremes, facials, peels, I drink tons of water, take a multi vitamin and omegas. Nothing works :( Is there anything I can do? The medicine has been wonderful, but my skin looks much older than it should (I am 40) and it is since I have been using Wellbutrin.

Your symptoms are suggestive of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation(PIH) and folliculitis. It can be a result of trauma to the skin like in shaving,chemical peels and photoxic eruptions. Folliculitis is inflammation of one or more hair follicles due to friction from clothing, blockage of the follicle, or shaving.
I feel that an examination by a wood lamp by a dermatologist will help in distinction of epidermal PIH from dermal PIH.
It is very bad on my thumbs and mostly just around the base of my fingernails on all fingers. After the skin peels off my fingers are red but it just grows back and peels again. When my hands are in water the skin turns bright white like my skin is soaking up as much water as it can. There is no pain or sores when it peels. Also, my nails are not affected by this. I have been treated for everything but no one seems to know what it is or how to treat it. My last derm.
What vitamins can I take to prevent aging? Exclusively the face and neck areas. If there is not a vitamin, can herbs help and what kind? Any Natural Preventions?
Hi! I have a skin that peels on the bottom of my big toes. It is usually kinda thick and adter it peels enough it really hurts and I have to clip it off... It seems to be worse in the summertime when I go barefoot. I do a lot of walking on carpet but not really concrete or anything that should make it worse. What could it be from? What can I do about it? I just bought an antifungal cream today and am going to see if it helps... Never been diagnosed with athletes foot beofre. Thanks!

I have been dealing with something on my face (mainly surrounding my mouth) for about a month now. The area is somewhat discolored, and it constantly gets dry and peels. There are no bumps at all, just a little discoloration, the area is a shade lighter than my normal skin tone but some affected areas blend easily with my skin. It gets so tight that it feels like its a mask. Once I think that it may be healing, the peeling starts over again.
If I just leave it alone most of the skin appears smooth, but in the crease on the side of my nose dead skin flakes off. Peeling rarely happens anywhere else.

This is contrary to everything I've heard. I thought retinol thickened the skin and stimulated collagen growth, and glycolic peels thinned the skin. Am I mistaken?
