I'm an 18 year old college student and took a cup from a basket (basket indicated it consisted of clean glasses). Unfortunately, as I drank from the cup, I drank from the part that had pink lipstick on it (I don't use lipstick). My guess is that the cafeteria personnel didn't wash this specific cup properly.

I've never had any symptoms of herpes, I didn't know I have it, my girlfriend doesn't have it either and now she thinks I'm cheating on her. Last week I had a real bad case of dryness on my lips (and maybe some skin was "off" so viruses could get inside my body) and my girlfriend put her lipstick on my lip (lipstick for dry lips, not the other use...). Could this lipstick be "infected"?Is that what gave me the herpes?
the LOGICAL answer to this would be LIPSTICK!!!!!!!!! being a woman...i can tell you that sometimes...depending on the lipstick...it will stick to a glass, even AFTER going through a dishwasher.
Hi, I have another question for you. How long does HSV-1 live on lipstick/balm? I have read that you can get it from them but is it typically if you use it right after the person with HSV-1? I used my sister's lipstick a couple months ago. Wiped it off with a piece of paper first I believe. She hadn't used the lipstick in a few months she said. Is there a risk here? Does it change if I hadn't wiped it off. Sorry, paranoid.

When you are on an airconditioned place for long periods of time, your lips starts to suffer and one thing you can do to survive under that conditions is use a lipstick to protect your lips. Also, try to not wet your lips with saliva because saliva and air burns your lips. When you get home apply lipstick before going to sleep and take care, that's what I do because I work at night under same conditions. Please do not wet your lips with saliva, that's burn your lips.
