Eye MDs call this "vitreous syneresis" At some point the vitreous is so watery is shifts and pulls away from the retina and this is a PVD. PVDs occur about 10% per decade of life 20% in 20s, 50% in 50s and 75% in 70s.

three years ago i tried a new gel wash i bought. I don't know what i was thinking but i left it on my face for the whole night thinking it would cleanse my skin (crazy, i know). it burned but i thought it was working. I woke up the next day with a puffy face, my eyelids were swollen, and several hours late my face began to peel, especially under my eyebrows.
