I read on one of Mayo's sites that there have been no studies but that it might be possibly helpful. Supposedly the Alpha Lipoic Acid can effect thyroid function. Not sure in what way up or down, so for sure it would need to be done under medical supervision. Not sure if using Q10 has negative side effects.

As far as skin creams go, the Nivea is pretty good, but I use the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle cream and I think he helps cover at least some of those ugly smoking lines. Hope it helps you too!
