627388 tn?1222198212 Has anyone from the MS forum ever seek treatment for their MS at the Mayo Clinic? If so, how was your as your experience with physicians from the clinic? I am considering driving up to Mayo at some point if my neurologist in town can't definatively diagnosis me.
Avatar f tn I have just made an appointment for a full work up at the Mayo Clinic, does anyone know the tests involved and how much they charge? Thank you!
582396 tn?1259863489 I am over the moon excited that DH got a 5-10 day appointment at Mayo Clinic - Dec. 10. Anyone have any experiences on what to expect etc?
Avatar m tn Some here on the board are not real pleased with the Mayo clinic. It seems they have their own set of standards to give out a dx of MS. I personally know nothing about them and wish you the best....hoping for that answer.
1264955 tn?1381782221 Has anybody here been to the neurology clinic at the Mayo or in their inpatient pain treatment program?
553283 tn?1409694311 Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic are obviously both top-flight medical centers, so the choice between the two would not be so much "which is better, Cleveland or Mayo;" it would be which one has a doctor or program that is more specialized to what you need.
486038 tn?1300063367 I've not been to the Jacksonville Mayo or the MS clinic in Houston, I'm sorry about that. I have heard a lot of good things about the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Dr. Elliot Frohman who works there. I'm sure if you google his name you can find out much more than I can tell you about, here.
Avatar m tn Truthfully, I've heard one of the best MS Clinics in the US is the Mellen Center at Cleveland Clinic. You might try checking out http://www.mscare.org They list all the clinics available, etc. My neuro said the clinic at Cincinatti isn't that great but thinks Cleveland Clinic is really good. I've never heard of the Mayo Clinic being highly rated for MS, but more for heart desease.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm 20 yrs old and I would like to know what anti aging face cream should I put on to prevent wrinkles.
Avatar n tn t even have a heart doctor. I had edema of unknown origin and so the Mayo Clinic checked the heart. Mayo could not find the cause of the edema which shocked me. I'm seeing a holistic doctor (which makes me a little nervous). She's a Harvard graduate and a thyroid expert.
345124 tn?1234483278 There is a school of thought that believes mold can be a frequent culprit of chronic sinusitis. There are a few different types of fungal sinusitis but the one that appears to be the most common is called EFRS (eosinophilic fungal rhinosinusitis). This was shown in a Mayo clinic study in 1999. It's important to note that it is really an allergic reaction to the mold rather than an infection caused by the presence of the mold.
Avatar f tn I decided that I should travel to the United States and hopefully get a diagnosis. I know that Mayo clinic and Cleveland clinic have a good dysautonomia clinics but I don't know which one should I choose so I would appreciate any suggestions !!! Also I know healthcare in the US is so expensive and since I don't have insurance I wonder how much such a visit to one of those hospitals will roughly cost ?I know it's hard to tell but I'm asking for a roughly cost. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Mayo clinic diagnosed me last winter with bracioradial pruritis and wanted to start me on either neurontin or one of two other drugs. My local doctor was wary of all the side effects and wanted to try a neurontin cream compounded with doxipen and lidocaine. This combo seems to help some days but other days it makes the itch so much worse. Has anyone else tried these compounded creams? What strength and what were the medications involved?
Avatar n tn Had leg pain with a feeling of weakness and multiple lesions on MRI. Started betaseron and went to the Mayo clinic for a second opinion from the neurologist that was the director of the neurology dept.who's specialty was MS and had written numerous books on MS. He said I did not have MS and should not take any diease modifying medications. I was 42 and he said that the "spots" were normal aging.
Avatar f tn Maybe I was too harsh about Mayo. To be fair to Mayo Clinic, I do think they do have some very good doctors there, maybe it's just hard to get a neuro diagnosis - as it seems to be most other places in this country - so what's new? I did really think the Mayo radiologist who looked at my films was excellent - he found a couple of things the original outside radiologist did not notice such as brain mass loss.
Avatar f tn I have seen over 15 docs and been to mayo clinic and I baffle each doc I meet. SO...anyone have this h#LL-ish thing I have too? Anyone have any ideas or know of new techniques? i've avoided surgical ideas mainly because nothing injectionwise or that kinda thing has helped and theres wasnt enough to prove to me to do it, but honestly i'm getting to be well beyond wits end....
Avatar m tn I have dumping syndrome without ever having surgery. I had the motility test done at Mayo Clinic, Rochester to confirm. I've seen lots of Doctors and they basically say I'll never know the cause. I follow an anti-dumping diet but am still very sick all the time. If you come across any good information please let me know. If you have any questions let me know as well.
1727909 tn?1314845210 It progressed quickly and now I have at least a hundred in 24 hrs. I made an appt with a Mayo Clinic Opthamologist for tuesday. There are NO ER docs for eyes at ANY of the hospitals nearby. Mayo is 3 hours away...but worth getting to. Thank you so much for taking the time to post!
Avatar n tn I am trying to do some research for my brother who has been struggling with terrible intermittent pain in his esophagus for the last 4 years. He has been to the mayo clinic where he underwent a battery of tests and had numerous other tests with other doctors trying to figure this out, to date he has had no relief. He is on medication for GERD, and has been prescribed pain medication. He is miserable and all this has produced anxiety and a lot of stress. He is now in an anti-depressant.
655875 tn?1295695107 t hear back from them right away - I requested an appointment with the Mayo Clinic and it was almost a year before I heard back from them! If your current docs office does the request/referral, though, it should go a lot faster.
Avatar f tn I have pulling pain in chest on left side, pressure pain in back on left side, soreness on left side, pain & numbness on left side, hurts to breath. severe pain when trying to lift left arm, along with numbness and pain in left arm and fingers. It hurts when I cough, sneeze and when moving, or just being still. Unable to sleep on right or left side. Morphine nor anti-inflammatory meds help.
Avatar f tn In acute cases, HBsAg usually disappears 1 to 2 months after the onset of symptoms with the appearance of hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs). Anti-HBs also appears as the immune response following hepatitis B vaccination. At the Mayo Clinic site http://www.mayomedicallaboratories.com/test-catalog/Clinical+and+Interpretive/8254 Has your Doctor ordered these tests for you and not provided information where to have the test done?
572651 tn?1530999357 A while back I entered the patient scholarship opportunity for the Social Media conference at Mayo Clinic. You may have even been one of the many people who ‘liked’ me through Facebook. They awarded three scholarships for the patient/caregiver and one companion to attend the conference. I was not one of the three people selected to attend, but I did reach out to the winners with my congratulations.
973741 tn?1342342773 I just read that the Mayo Clinic in Arizonia is denying medicaid patients due to low reimbursments. They have to pay cash. Any thoughts?
