Avatar f tn Dear Meg34, You can go home. Colleges honor Anorexia as a medical withdrawal. With your current symptoms, you need support. You probably need an eating disorder treatment program: outpatient day treatment, residential treatment or possibly inpatient treatment. Go to your campus’ health center for your physical symptoms. Ask to speak with a counselor at school who has experience with eating disorders. The health center and counselor can help assist you to get the proper treatment.

Avatar m tn It seems that Seattle does not have any support groups in the area? How do people cope when they find out they are positive for HSV 1 or 2? I was diagnosed over 3 years ago through a blood test IGg. I have pretty much isolated myself from going out, meeting anyone and I have no one to talk to at all. I got blood tested after going online and requesting the STD test through quest diagnostics laboratory. My results ccame back positive for both HSV 1 and 2.
672839 tn?1305792947 To me, there are two types of groups, 1) Support and 2) Self Help. Support Groups are places to go and feel safe. Lead by others with medical conditions like ours, opinions are shared by all, and comfort is widely given while tears flow. The discussions are personal and individualized making this the place to be when your chin is on the ground. Self-Help groups relieve a different pain. In this setting professionals teach you the steps necessary to better yourself and your position.
Avatar f tn i heard that there are support groups i was wondering if anyone knew of a site i can search for one in my area or does anyone know of one in the daytona beach fl area?
Avatar n tn I have shied away from going to support groups for various reasons but am beginning to think now maybe one would be helpful. Thoughts? I feel like I am losing ground daily not only physically but also emotionally. I have applied for social security disability (something I said I would NEVER do) because my physician refuses to release me to go back to work. I just feel that I can no longer be the "strong" one.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know off any support groups you can go to in Belfast?to talk to people with the same depression illness as me?
Avatar f tn DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY SUPPORT GROUPS FOR HEP-C VIRUS AND PEOPLE GOING THROUGH THE TREATMENTS IN LEAVENWORTH KANSAS. GOING THROUGH TREATMENT 6 MONTHS INTO IT AND HAVING A VERY ROUGH TIME WITH THE DEPRESSION OF THE MEDICATIONS. IN NEED OF A SUPPORT GROUP.
Avatar m tn Are there any support groups that meet for Chiari survivors, sufferers in Knoxville, TN. My daughter had decompression surgery a year and a half ago. Since then she has been suffering from headaches and mind seizures as well as fear, depression and anxiety. She has had to quit her job and we are probably going to have to file for disability for her. I think a support group would help her feel not so all alone.
Avatar f tn Following up with a nutritionist and a therapist can help you understand the causes behind this and help support you in your recovery. If neither of those are in your area you can go check out ANAD for support groups offered near your location. You may want to go to The Bella Vita website and subscribe to our newsletter! Avatar m tn How do you find local support groups in your area for narcotic addicts. Is there a website?
Avatar f tn Various health conditions like Dibetes, Heart, Chronic Pain always seem to have local support groups but when it comes to eye conditions they seem to be lacking. Patients see a doctor, they might be given a brochure and then there is usually no commuication until their next visit. Outside of forum like this individuals with the same eye conditions can't get support from each other or from speakers that come to speak at support group meetings.
Avatar f tn Are Anxiety support Groups of any value? Anyone had success attending one? Where could I find a list by state?
Avatar m tn I was just curious how many of you out there are getting aftercare and what kind? After I failed over and over and felt completely beat I realized that I could never let my guard down and needed a support group to help me STAY clean. I did go to N/A for a short time, it's a great support group, but it was not for me. I go to meetings on Friday's, it's a lil different from N/A. I guess my main source of aftercare is this forum because it has taught me the most.
7853005 tn?1394747059 I am a recovering heroin addict early in sobriety but i also have chronic lyme disease. Does anyone know any support groups, because I dont know anyone who has both to talk to or even a just lyme support group. Any help would be apprreciated.
Avatar f tn Look them up in local YWCA or local Meetup groups or other non profit resources available to you. Many groups exists in many cities and towns...like thousands!! At these groups you will meet others in the exact situation you are in. Get yourself a buddy or two from the local group, and help each other get to the healthy weight. I think you already learned this from the past, that by doing things alone, it don't always lead to success.
Avatar m tn Looking for insight on my girl friends malnutrition. she has a history with anorexia but has managed it herself over the years. We've been together 3 years now I've seen her success with routine eating but hardly cosistent. She cycles to work, works 3-4 jobs and manages to find time to workout or swim 1-2 times a day plus consumin considerable amounts of water and eating light meals here and there. I believe these habits contribute to her insecurity of gaining weight.
Avatar f tn Hi hun, I think it depends on you and your actual motivation to change. I know that for me, I couldn't have (and wouldn't have) done it without help because there was no way in hell that I would have kept eating to gain weight once it started happening. If you're really determined to get better then maybe give it a shot by yourself, but remember that there's nothing wrong with asking for help. Even if it's just a friend, family member, etc.

Avatar f tn If u are eating less than 1200 cals a day and excersising, your body will slowly shut down without energy to support it. There are support groups out there that can help you cope. Also there are healthier ways to stay thin without starving yourself. I know from previous experience.
