anorexia

Avatar f tn Yes you can have stomach pain along with many other symptoms. Anorexia and Anorexia Nervosa are actually two different things.. Anorexia is simply not eating, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't WANT to eat, just a lack of eating for whatever reason. Anorexia Nervosa (what people are usually talking about when they use the term Anorexia) is when you don't eat because you think you are fat, or you have a strong fear of gaining weight.

Avatar f tn Are you under treatment by an anorexia specialist? As you may have learned, the disorder is very, very difficult to treat. There is a little evidence that certain antidepressants of the SSRI class may help somewhat. I don't have anorexia, but I do have panic attacks, and my experience is that if your shrink tries you out on several (I tried 4 or 5), one of them may prove to be the magic bullet for that problem. In my case, a wee dose of Zoloft did the job.
Avatar f tn And she needs to snack many times during the day. I would even get the school nurse to help out on this. You will find other ideas on this site - http://www.additudemag.com/topic/adhd-treatment/better-adhd-treatment.html However, anorexia is a very serious condition! And with it, nothing may taste good to her. This is something that you really need professional help to deal with, and the sooner the better. I worry about the fact that she doesn't want her sisters to know about her.
918035 tn?1274644533 I'm familiar with those same voices...they are the anorexia. Don't listen. You are worth so much more and you deserve to be healthy and have a good life. And I know you don't want to put more stuff on your family b/c of the death, but anorexia is serious and you need help to recover. I'm sure your family will be glad you told them. Yeah, maybe they will be mad about what you're doing to yourself, but that's just because they don't know anything about anorexia.
Avatar m tn Hello. I'm new and terrified for a friend who says she's been diagnosed with Lyme disease. At first, I had no reason to believe otherwise. However, I'm not sure now. She has lost an extreme amount of weight. A couple of years ago when this all began, she was losing weight quickly and couldn't eat anything unless it was pureed. Without going into all the details, she presented all the signs of anorexia and still does.
Avatar n tn It starts with lower reactions to porn sites, then there is a general drop in libido and in the end it becomes impossible to get an erection," said Carlo Foresta, head of the Italian Society of Andrology and Sexual Medicine (SIAM). His team drew their conclusions from a survey of 28,000 Italian men which revealed that many became hooked on porn as early as 14, exhibiting symptoms of so-called "sexual anorexia" by the time they reached their mid-twenties.

Avatar m tn //www.webmd.com/mental-health/eating-disorders/anorexia-nervosa/mental-health-anorexia-nervosa#1. Diagnosis of eating disorders requires you to step outside of it and ask for help. The best place to start may be to have a physical and express your eating practices and concerns over your weight at that time. If your physician agrees you have an unhealth relationship with food, they may suggest the next step for help.
